Chapter Forty
Subtitle: My Contract Marriage
Written by: Marvy Hyacinth
✿ ✿ Phoebe’s POV ✿ ✿
I sat in my car, my head trying to warp around the situation I experienced earlier on.
Anderson?
With another girl?
He said she was his maid, but would a rich arrogant jerk run after a crying maid?
It was a NO!
There was something fishy about those two.
Could it be that Anderson loves that low life?
It looked like it…
… But I’m not sure if he realized it yet.
Oh Gawd…
How the heck was Anderson able to find another girl to love?
He may not know yet, but the girl looked hurt when I was insulting her, which meant one thing.
She likes him.
Oh, that b! tch!
I must seize this opportunity to get rid of that b! tch!
Anderson doesn’t realize he has feelings for that simpleton, so I’ll do something before he realizes it.
Nothing!
I repeat nothing!Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.
Nothing at all will stand in between me and getting Anderson back.
The next day …>
Anderson got up from his bed and walked into the bathroom to start his day.
Stepping out of the bathroom and into his room with a towel tied around his waist, he walked into his closet.
Grabbing his underwear, he put it on, picked up his body lotion, and rubbed it on his body.
Picking out a black shirt with a red Velvet suit to go with, Anderson put it on, put on some cologne, and wore his expensive wristwatch.
Then he turned to face the mirror, took a hair gel in his hand, and applied it to his hair.
Using a comb, he styled his hair into the style he wanted and winked at his reflection the more, knowing he was now ready to leave for work.
Anderson picked up his briefcase and jogged down the stairs whilst checking the time on his wristwatch.
It was after 8 in the morning.
Alexa should have arrived by now, but she hasn’t shown up yet.
He couldn’t wait for her, so he unlocked his door and walked out.
Locking the door, he walked to his car, threw open his passenger seat, and placed his briefcase on it before crossing to the driver’s seat.
Anderson had just sat in his car and was about to start the engine when he sighted Alexa.
He alighted from his car and walked towards Alexa who had her hair bowed.
“Hey…”
Anderson spoke first making Alexa look up.
“Hey… Good morning.”
Alexa greeted and lowered her head back down.
“So I’m going to work right now. Come with me to the door.”
Anderson said and Alexa stared at him weirdly.
“Oh no, not that. I mean the door’s locked.”
Anderson explained which made Alexa *O*eed.
Anderson walked to the door with Alexa trailing behind him, with her head still bowed.
Wow!
Very weird.
Like earlier, her head was bowed with her fingers trying to outdo each other in front of her skirt.
He wasn’t sure of what was wrong with her, but he was sure of one thing…
… It was about yesterday.
Ordinarily, Alexa would be full of energy and trying to get him into arguments, but she wasn’t active.
She was suddenly too gentle.
It looked like she had no confidence or courage in her again.
Anderson suddenly missed the confident Alexa.
Anderson unlocked the door and held it open.
“So you’ll be here till I’m back from work, OK?”
Anderson questioned her with information.
Alexa nodded in the positive and walked in.
“Everything you’ll need is in here, feel at home, and feel free to use anything. My playroom excluded, though.”
Anderson told her and she nodded.
Anderson closed the door behind him and walked to his car, zooming off right after he started the car.

Anderson walked in and went straight for the private elevator.
He wasn’t in such a great mood, so he completely ignored all the greetings he received from the staff.
Anderson got to his office floor and stepped out of the elevator.
Walking straight ahead and turning sharply to the door on the left, he entered his office and sat on his chair.
“Good morning sir.”
Becky greeted whilst Anderson loosened his necktie.
“Appointments?…”
Anderson asked, prompting Becky to bring out her pear pad.
“You have an appointment with…
…
…
…”
Becky listed.
“Is that all?”
Anderson asked.
“Yes, but there’s a board meeting today sir, ten minutes into a Lunch break.”
Becky informed.
“OK… Known. Any other thing?”
“That’ll be all sir.”
Becky replied bowing slightly.
“Alright. Get me five cups of coffee.”
Anderson demanded.
“Five?”
Becky asked shocked.
“Yes.”
“But sir… That’s not…”
“Healthy. I know it isn’t, so shut the fvck up and go get me what I want!”
Anderson fired.
Becky bowed slightly and turned to leave.
Her boss was certainly not in a good mood, and each time he was in this type of mood… She was the one who bared the brunt of it all.
… Always!
At times like this, she wanted to do nothing but resign.
She started wishing she’d not gone back to be re-employed after Anderson had someone email her.
Anderson on the other hand was suffering from a lack of concentration.
Alexa wasn’t her normal self when he left her earlier, so he couldn’t be fine.
‘Lover boy, having a bad day because of your love?’
His subconscious teased.
“Oh please! She’s not my love.”
‘Then why are you in a foul mood this beautiful day?’
His Subcon asked.
“Just one of those moods I get.”
Anderson lied.
To be honest, he didn’t know if his subconscious was right or he was.
⏭ Fast forward ⏭
“Sir, it’s time for the board meeting.”
Becky announced immediately after she got to Anderson’s desk.
“OK… I’ll be out in a minute.”
Anderson replied to which Becky exited.
He checked his wristwatch and saw it was seven minutes into the lunch break already… Meaning he had just three minutes to take the elevator to the floor above his Dad’s own.
He grabbed his jacket on the coat stand, grabbed a file, and walked out of his office.
“Just in time!”
Anderson muttered looking at his wristwatch as the elevator dinged open.
He was about to look up from his wristwatch when he bumped into something… Or rather, someone.
“Hey, watch your step!”
April yelled at him.
“Sorry, um… Wait! April?!”
Anderson asked shocked.
“Why do you look shocked?”
April asked him.
“What are doing here?”
Anderson questioned.
“Hello? I’m the CEO of Green cosmetics, a sub-company under this one.”
“So?”
“Of course, I’m supposed to be here!”
April yelled.
“Calm your little ass down. I forgot”
“This is not the first time I’m coming here, dimwit!”
“Whatever.”
Anderson rolled his eyes and walked towards the conference room.
“Out of my way fool.”
April muttered as she pushed Anderson aside and walked past him.
“B! tch!”
Anderson sighed as he pushed his hands down his pocket and continued his walk to the conference room, letting April ahead of him.
April pushed the door to the conference room open and everywhere went silent.
Anderson soon appeared right behind her and the way the board of directors was staring at them, made them recheck their clothes to make sure nothing was wrong with them.
April got tired of standing at the door, rolled her eyes, and walked into the room.
“What’s wrong with y’all?”
She asked boldly.
“You’re five minutes late.”
The man standing in front of the big screen said.
April turned to Anderson.
“Thank you very much.”
“As if!”
Anderson muttered.
➡ After a lot of boring stuff even I don’t know…⬅
“That’s all for this week.”
One of the directors announced and they all nodded.
Turning off the mic in front of them and taking along the files they brought, all of them filed out.
Anderson turned off his mic and followed behind the other board members, but his father stopped him.
“Not you Anderson.”
Simon spoke.
Anderson turned back.
“Why? Anything wrong?”
He asked.
“Not really. We just need to talk.”
Simon said and then, Anderson noticed they were not the only ones in the room.
Seated in a close cluster were Simon, Mr. Greg, and April.
“Am I late?”
A female voice rang out after the sound of the door opening came first.
Anderson turned towards the direction of the voice and shock overrode him.
“Phoebe?!”
