Mr. Neal, Mrs. Neal’s Gone With The Money

Chapter 207

Chapter 207

Chyler plopped down on the couch, still half–asleep and startled. Then, he scolded Joshua, “What’s wrong with you? Why are you scaring me in the middle of the night?”

“Scaring you?” Joshua was confused.

“What are you here for?” Chyler yawned, changing the subject. “It can’t be that you’re feeling bad about the impending divorce and carne to drink with me, right?”

“For this.” Joshua handed over the small playing card.

When Chyler saw it, his drowsiness had diminished, and he smiled mischievously.

“Yoel said that if I wanted to know why Cynthia left this playing card at your place, I should come to you.” Joshua locked his gaze on Chyler, genuinely curious about this object.

Chyler nodded, sitting back leisurely. “Mmhmm. That’s right.”

“When did she leave it?” Joshua did not hesitate, asking directly, Property of Nô)(velDr(a)ma.Org.

“The time you came here to pick her up,” Chyler replied, still suspicious of Cynthia’s extraordinary capabilities,

Joshua asked, “What?”

Chyler did not beat around the bush either. Instead, he handed the playing card back to Joshua, stood up, and headed upstairs, saying as he walked, “If you want to know, come with me.”

Joshua followed him.

Chyler passed through the bedroom and went out to the balcony. Then, he stood there with his hands in his pockets and raised his chin, gesturing for Joshua to look at the severed line.

“Cynthia cut this line by using that playing card in your hand when she was standing down there.”

“I didn’t come here to waste time with you.” Joshua did not believe it at all.

Cutting a line so precisely from downstairs using a playing card was not something an ordinary person could do, even if Cynthia used to be Shirley’s bodyguard

Chyler raised an eyebrow. “You don’t believe it?

Joshua glanced at him, clearly indicating: Only an idiot would believe you.

“Fine,” Chyler knew he would react that way. Thus, he turned around and walked back to the study. “Follow me, and you’ll see it for yourself.”

After that, Chyler turned on the computer and pulled up the surveillance footage from that night.

Chyler showed Joshua the part where Cynthia beat up the bodyguards. Seeing Joshua’s focused expression, he took on the role of a commentator.

“Your soon–to–be ex–wife is something else. She single–handedly took down so many of my bodyguards ”

Joshua watched intently.

Cynthia’s fighting moves were precise and purposeful without any hesitation. Such techniques could not be found in an ordinary bodyguard.

“We don’t need to watch the conversation between her and me,” Chyler said as the footage of Cynthia’s beating ended. He fast -forwarded and added, “Let me skip to the later part for you.”

Joshua remained silent, letting him fast–forward the footage.

Chyler stopped directly at the moment when Cynthia was about to strike, right after he had taunted her.

I

“You don’t have to threaten me. I won’t let you see her.”

As soon as the words fell, Cynthia swiftly threw a playing card that cut the line on the balcony. Everything happened within

less than two seconds.

“See that?” Chyler still felt a chill down his spine.

Suddenly, Joshua spoke up, “Wait.”

“What?” Chyler looked puzzled.

Without saying anything more, Joshua went to press a key on the keyboard, rewinding the footage to the point where Chyler

finished his sentence. This time, he kept his eyes fixed on Cynthia’s left hand without blinking.

Even so, he still could not see how the playing card appeared in Cynthia’s hand.

It was as if it suddenly materialized like magic.
