Chapter 65 Stella Enters The Perfumer Tournament Representing The Powell Group

Dissatisfiedly, Mirabelle bit her lips in anger for a short while before putting on a warm smile.

She stood up, looked at Brooklyn with her eyes that were basically oozing with warmth and said, “Brooklyn, I’ve just asked Harper regarding who was the perfumer that designed the perfume you used yesterday. I wanna commission them to design one for Rebecca to help her sleep better. She’s been insomniac lately, and even after consulting a lot of doctors, there’s still no effective way to treat her insomnia. Seeing as you’re well rested today, I’d take my chances with…”

Her voice was crisp and soft, any random person would not get agitated from hearing her voice.

Brooklyn shot her a glance without saying anything.

Mirabelle was in panic as her palms started sweating.

If Brooklyn was suspicious because he saw her talking to Harper, she would be in big trouble.

As she still was not married to Brooklyn yet, even with the fact that their family were looking forward to forming an alliance with one another, what she just did could very easily be suspected as corporate espionage by Brooklyn.

“Harper, give Mirabelle the business card of the perfumer that I met a few days ago,” said Brooklyn with his dark eyes that were still as water.

Harper was stunned, but quickly responded, “Yes, Mr. Powell.”

He quickly pulled out his card holder, picked out a card and handed it to Mirabelle.

She looked at the card and frowned.

A perfumer from Europe, how could it not be Anna?

When she wanted to ask Brooklyn for more information, she realized that he had already walked far away from her.

Harper was right behind him, with a briefcase sandwiched between his arm and body.

Mirabelle stomped the floor furiously, the business card still firmly grasped in her hand. Belongs to © n0velDrama.Org.

A phone call was all she needed to find out whether this person was real or an impostor.

Harper opened the car door for Brooklyn, then he sat in the front passenger seat.

“Mr. Powell, that business card just now…The perfume yesterday was designed by Anna, was it not? Why did you say that it was made by someone else? If I recall correctly, that business card that we gave Ms. Moss just now refers to the perfumer that visited Sliwell last month. All he did was meet you, but he didn’t design any perfume for you, did he? Ms. Moss will find out that we’re lying as soon as she gives him a call, and I’m afraid that your relationship will sour because…”

Harper frowned in confusion.

Given that Mr. Powell was really smart, how could he blurt out such an obvious lie?

Brooklyn heard Harper’s question, however, he did not stop typing on his laptop. His focus on the screen was not broken, with his thins lips sealed like an unopened aluminium can.

The longer Harper spent thinking to himself, the more he was getting confused by Brooklyn’s action.

It should not be, unless…

All of a sudden, a thought flashed in his mind.

“Mr. Powell, don’t tell me that you’ve already predicted that Ms. Moss will press you for more details on this matter?” asked Harper as he turned around and looked at his boss. He said in a serious tone,

“Since you already know that Ms. Moss will ask you who designed the perfume, to keep Ms. Miller’s identity a secret, you’ve already contacted the other perfumer so that he will play along with your lie. As expected of you, Mr. Powell!”

As he heard Harper’s boot-licking, Brooklyn let out a little smirk.

In fact, Harper was overthinking everything, Brooklyn did not consider protecting Diana at all.

If Diana needed his protection, why would he be allowed to see the moment of her uncovering secrets of herself?

Under his watchful eyes, Mirabelle could not even dream of pulling off any sly tricks.

It was just that he could not be bothered to expose such a teeny little trick.

It was Mirabelle that saved his life six years ago, after all. He figured he should at least save her some face as a sign of compassion.

“What else did Mirabelle ask you about?” asked Brooklyn after a while, as he shifted his gaze from his laptop screen to Harper.

“Ms. Moss asked some other things about Anna,” replied Harper, as he added, “Mr. Powell, isn’t it better to make things clear with Ms. Moss if you aren’t interesting in courting Anna? From what I can see, Ms. Moss seems to be very hostile towards Anna. While Ms. Moss is a proper lady, she could turn out to be very jealous and might do some really messed up things to achieve her goals…”

“Who told you that I’m not courting Anna?” Brooklyn said in a soft but intimidating tone.

“Umm, what? Wait…” Harper was stunned.

What kind of advancement is this? Is Mr. Powell really in love with Anna?

Startled, Harper’s heart was pumping like a jackhammer.

“Mr. Powell, please don’t tell me that you’re actually in love with Anna.” He said as he recalled the two kids in Anna’s house. Even if Anna stated that those were her relative’s children, but who could tell if she was lying?

Brooklyn did not confirm his suspicion.

He retracted his gaze, clearly in a good mood.

Brooklyn’s sleep that night was the best that he ever had in the past six years.

The next day, when Brooklyn entered his office, Diana had already tidied everything up and placed some documents on his desk.

“Mr. Powell, here is your schedule for today.” Diana, with her unrivalled efficiency, asked Brooklyn before he even sat down on his chair, “Mr. Cox from GS Group would like to meet you at 6 in the evening.”

Without giving as much as a thought, he replied, “No thanks, I’m not going.”

After striking through the ‘dinner with GS Group’ section on the schedule, she shut her notebook and asked, “Mr. Powell, there is another thing that I must inform you. The perfumer tournament in Sliwell is not far from now, and the perfumer representing the Powell Group will be Stella.”

Harper was speechless.

He wondered if Anna was an idiot or not.

Stella was so painfully obvious at being a thorn in Anna’s side, but she still agreed to send her to the perfumer tournament?”

“Give me the reason.” Brooklyn said without shifting his gaze from his computer screen.

“In the company, Stella’s perfume designing skills are second only to my own. I’ve tried out her perfumes over the past year. While her performance might not be guaranteed to secure the first place in the tournament, I’d say that she’ll definitely be able to at least get a place on the podium.”

The perfume that she gave Mirabelle might be an idea that occurred to her all of a sudden.

But it definitely was not something any old perfumer can cook up out of nowhere.

Stella was unable to top Mirabelle’s perfume, but she could at least ensure that she would place top three in the tournament.

“Anna, you’re the top perfumer in the company, why don’t you participate in the tournament?” Harper was unaware of the deal between Brooklyn and Diana.

Diana placed her pointer finger on her lips in a teasing fashion.

Her gaze gave out a mysterious aura.

“Harper, don’t you know, that a woman shrouded in mystery is a beautiful one?”

Her attractive eyes winked and then looked at Brooklyn, “Of course there’s a deal between me and Mr. Powell. Isn’t that right, Mr. Powell?”

Harper was so shocked that his jaw dropped on the floor.

Just as he had thought, that Anna who did the mock test with the perfumer from the company was a fake.

And now, the Anna in front of his eyes that could choke someone to death with her words if she tried was the real one!

“If Stella fails to get top three in the…”

Just as Brooklyn said that, Diana’s emotions changed on a dime and said, “It can’t be helped, then. I’ll bear with it and sleep with Mr. Powell in the office. What do you think, hmm?”
