Chapter 244 The Real Nightmare
Chapter 244 The Real Nightmare
When Freya arrived at the Kaufmann Residence, Daniella and Ashley had already left, leaving the house feeling empty.
In the following days, Freya went to visit Daniella from time to time.
She would occasionally handle some matters related to the research institute online, and when she felt energetic, she would drive to West Geft to “date” Radley.
Because they had to keep their relationship a secret, they chose Brandon’s office as their meeting place.
The main activity during their dates was learning about tenon-mortise together, or more accurately, Radley accompanying Freya while she learned.
Half a month flew by, and Freya was already eight and a half months pregnant. There was less than a month left until delivery.
Freya secretly went for a prenatal check-up, in which she learned the baby in her womb was healthy.
Even so, she didn’t dare to wander around at this critical moment.
Sylvia would occasionally remind her, “You can’t run around at this time. Even a small fall would end up being a big deal!”
As Freya stayed at home to take care of her pregnancy, her daily communication with Radley shifted to video calls.
She couldn’t help worrying, as she didn’t know when those people in the shadows would
appear.
She would be in a disadvantageous situation if they showed up when she was giving birth.
Kaufmann Residence.
Freya sat on the small couch in her room, holding her phone as she texted Radley.
They hadn’t seen each other for three days.
Radley asked, ‘Can’t I come to your house to see you?’
Freya thought for a moment.
Freya responded, ‘No. My mother and brother still don’t know about you.’

Radley said, ‘When do you plan to tell them?’
Freya remembered the disapproving look on her brother’s face when she mentioned Radley. She sighed and gave her answer. ‘After the baby is born.”
After all, Daniella and Braxton had a bad impression of Radley.
Freya smiled and chatted with Radley for a while, then washed up and lay down on the bed.
When the baby in her belly suddenly kicked her, she let out a low cry and lifted the blanket to look at her stomach.
There was a small bump on her already visibly swollen belly. It was a mark left by the baby’s
kick.
A sweet smile appeared on Freya’s lips. She was filled with excitement and anticipation of becoming a mother for the first time.
Until now, she still didn’t know whether the baby in her belly was a boy or a girl.
As Freya was thinking, she heard two soft sounds from the window.
Freya immediately got up and looked over, only to see Radley standing on the steps outside the window, his face carrying a faint smile.
She quickly ran over to open the window, allowing Radley to hop onto the balcony.
“Mr. Monaghan, you, sir, are a master at climbing walls,” Freya muttered, unable to hide her smile.
After entering the room, Radley hugged her tightly.
He buried his face in Freya’s hair, deeply inhaling the fragrance on her body.
“I miss you so much even though it’s only been three days.” Radley took a deep breath. Since they started dating, his longing for Freya had grown like wildfire that spread uncontrollably.
It was only when he was by her side, smelling her scent that he could truly feel at ease.
Freya blushed at Radley’s sweet words as her heart beat faster.
Radley’s voice was hoarse. “Shall we officially get engaged after we have the baby?”
Freya was taken aback. “You want to have an engagement ceremony?”
“Yes. I will organize the grandest engagement ceremony in Caltun for you.”

Radley’s voice was deep as he promised her. “I will give you the best of everything no matter the cost!”
Freya felt conflicted. Although she had lost the memories of the past two years, everyone in Caltun knew that she and Radley had already divorced.
Even if they were together again now, when it came to getting married, Freya planned to have a meal with a few close friends from her circle.
It wasn’t about being frugal. Rather, she didn’t like having to face so many people.
While Freya was contemplating, she suddenly felt that something was off.
She hadn’t agreed to marry Radley yet, and they had just started dating. Why was she already considering it seriously?
Freya furrowed her brows slightly.
Radley held her waist with one hand, moved away from her, and lowered his head to kiss her.
At this sight, Freya quickly placed her hand between their lips and took a deep breath.
“Too soon.”
Radley saw the blush on her neck and smiled faintly, not continuing.
The two sat on the balcony for a while with Radley whispering about their future plans, some of which were about their engagement.
He talked about plans that seemed too distant to believe.
Freya lowered her gaze and gently stroked her belly.
She had something troubling her now. Since she had gotten back together with Radley, the origin of the baby in her belly…
After hesitating for a few seconds, Freya looked up and saw Radley staring at her. “What’s wrong?” he asked.
“Nothing.” Freya smiled.
The two didn’t chat for long. Since Radley had climbed over the wall to get in, Freya was afraid that Braxton and Daniella would find out about him.
Before leaving. Radley bent down and kissed Freya on the cheek.
“This shouldn’t be too soon, right?” he whispered.
“You should leave quickly-” Freya urged in a hushed voice. “The security at my house will probably be tightened again in a few days. You shouldn’t climb over the wall anymore. What if you get caught?”
Radley chuckled softly. “Alright.”
After seeing him off, Freya returned to her bedroom, washed up, and got into bed.
In the dark of the night…
Freya let out an uneasy groan as she lay on the bed.
In her dream, she turned her head and looked around to see that she was surrounded by darkness without a trace of light.
Freya called out loudly, “Mom! Brax.”
And yet, there was no response around her. Even her voice seemed to be absorbed by the darkness, and the space was completely silent.
Freya suddenly panicked.
Taking unsteady steps forward, she moved slowly in the darkness.
Suddenly, a voice sounded from behind her.
“Freya, move aside!”
Freya’s eyes widened when she heard the voice that seemed to strike her right in the heart.
All the darkness receded with that cold voice. Before long, Freya found herself standing in an unfamiliar room.
She looked down at herself and saw that she was wearing a worn-out nightgown, and her belly was no longer swollen.
Freya immediately panicked and touched her belly. “My baby? Where’s my baby?”
She looked up at Radley across from her, pleading for help. “Radley, the baby is gone!” This content © Nôv/elDr(a)m/a.Org.
As she spoke, she suddenly froze.
Radley was standing not far away, looking at her with cold and distant eyes devoid of any emotion. His gaze seemed to be looking at thin air.

Frowning Freys quickly stepped forward “Radley-”
The man pushed her away, coldly instructing. “Since you have married me as you wished, you should follow my rules!”
