Chapter 234
Chapter 234
Quim was in full-blown panic mode.
He shot Eaden with a look filled with suspicion and confusion. "Was it you?"
"Did you conspire with Howard against me?"
It was not just a question, Quim was convinced of it. Original from NôvelDrama.Org.
The timing was too perfect.
Eaden just chuckled at Quim's accusation and shot back, "Still thinking of taking down Mr. Cole, are you?"
"You really don't get it, do you? I couldn't possibly pull strings with Mr. Mosier. This was all Mr. Cole's idea."
That revelation hit Quim like a ton of bricks. It was him! He spun around to see Liam, then lounging on the couch, leisurely enjoying his wine. Before him, Samara, Yanely, and the others stood in line, bowing deeply, their faces ashen and bodies shaking, too scared to even lift their heads.
They were petrified, regretting why they ever agreed to come to tonight's party with Samara, why they had taken part in shaming Celena.
They had never seen anything like that before. They thought they were just going to a party to give Celena a hard time and blow off some steam. However, then Quim showed up, and even Eaden, the infamous crime lord, was there, bowing and scraping to Liam!
They wanted to kick themselves after watching Eaden bow to Liam. How could they have been so blind?
Quim's fear bubbled over as he stared at Liam, stammering, "Who... who the heck are you? You can't be Liam... You can't be that loser. What's your real deal?"
No washed-up vet could pull strings like that, getting a big shot like Eaden to grovel and even getting Officer Howard on the move!
That was way beyond any regular Joe's league!
Liam smiled, admiring his wine glass as he swirled it, the expensive red wine glinting like a fine ruby in the light. "Who am I? Haven't you figured it out? I'm Liam! You're not in a position to ask who I really am. You've got two choices now: live or die. Your call!"
Quim's heart skipped a beat. However, his fear quickly turned back into a blaze of anger. He was starting to doubt everything about today. Was it all too convenient? Maybe Eaden had set that whole thing up, hired Liam and some actors to play him for a fool, all to snatch away his turf.
It was a scene all too familiar in the gritty underbelly of the city, which was why he even considered it. Quim could not help but laugh at the thought, eyeing Eaden with a cryptic smirk. "I'm dying to see what you, a deadbeat who's nothing more than a son-in-law living off his wife's family, can do to me! You smacked my daughter around and offended my members, and now you think I'll just roll over? In your dreams!"
"Boys! Brace yourselves, we're in for the fight of our lives!"
The tension in the room skyrocketed as both crews readied themselves for the looming showdown.
Eaden had not expected Quim to put up a fight and bellowed, "Quim, you're digging your own grave!"
As the standoff reached a boiling point, chaos erupted from below, and the shrill wail of police sirens cut through the standoff in the private room.
Troops in battle gear, armed to the teeth, stormed the hotel, their combat boots pounding in unison across the floor. Howard, leading the charge, stormed up the stairs, and the gun-toting soldiers cleared a path as the goons scattered.
