Chapter 2116
Chapter 2116
Though they mentioned makeup, it was more like an outfit change. When we entered the fitting room, they had already reached the 70th pair. We would have to go up in the next 10 minutes.
The bride's costume was overly complicated to put on. I tried a couple of times, but I couldn't wrap my head around it. At last, I had to ask for help from the staff. After Freya had finished putting on her dress, she came over with two girls in charge of the outfits to help me out.
The curtains pulled open, and I saw a bride in a beautiful traditional wedding dress. For a moment, I couldn't even believe the reflection staring back at me in the mirror was me.Contentt bel0ngs to N0ve/lDrâ/ma.O(r)g!
The contrast of red and green was amazing. This should be well understood in the heart of every citizen of Zuckerberg.
What was funny to me was that all the memories about my wedding came rushing back to my mind - marrying Hendrix in a tube top dress, his blurred face when I tried to peek through the veil, even up to the moment we exchanged rings while I was wearing a pair of white gloves; the rings that had led many challenges our way.
Under the light, the dazzling red dress shone. The lamp was dyed red from the reflection of the dress. The whole atmosphere was red and jubilant as if the heavens had given their blessing for the pair to have their happily ever after.
The heavens were likely unsatisfied with me and Hendrix's wedding vows during our wedding. That would explain why we had to endure so many hardships in the last decade of our marriage.
At the thought of that, I unconsciously looked at the mirror and laughed at the thought of a materialist actually believing in ghosts and gods for a wedding dress.
"Arianna, you're stunning," Freya's tone carried a hint of jealousy as she stood beside me.
A woman's love for beauty was unmatched. Listening to her say those words with admiration on her face, I noticed that our outfits were drastically different. Hers was thin and more of a lighter material while mine was much grander compared to hers.
The phoenix cor on my head looked familiar.
I thought I had seen that before...Oh right! It was from the flagship store!
"Freya," Worried that something might go wrong, I pulled Freya aside and whispered in her ear, "Did we get the wrong outfits? You're in much better shape than me. You should be wearing this instead, right?"
Freya gave me a comforting smile. "Nah, everything's the way it should be. Anne must have her reasons for you to be in it; maybe you look much better in it. Whatever it is, you look absolutely stunning in it. Don't overthink it. Plus, it's too late for us
tooback out now since we're about to
go on soon."
I wanted to ask for more clarification, but one of the assistants had come and stood in front of us with a tray full of accessories. I could only swallow my words back into my throat.
Freya seemed to have already

familiarized herself with the people around. She walked in the wooden shoes like she was born to be in them. She strutted a couple of steps forward, grabbed the accessories on the tray and turned to me, "Here, put the mask on. Then, we wait for our cue in the wedding room."
I took the half-faced mask in confusion. "Aren't we just going on stage for a show? Why are we heading to the wedding room?"
Freya cocked her eyebrows and
explained, "Yes, it's a formal show She's your daughter, after all. She's doing her best, so everything has to be on point. It's all in the details. Details! You get that, right?"
She had a point. This was being broadcast live around the world. They couldn't be careless with the details, be it how small they were. "Alright, ignore what I said. I'll do it, for Anne..." I said as the assistant put the mask on my face and secured it on both sides of my ears. Scanning my reflection in the full-length mirror, I realized I looked much more mysterious with the mask on.
