Chapter 2126
Chapter 2126
Hendrix maintained the faint smile on his face as he wrote the third word on my hand.
It seemed as if he wanted to deliberately lose whatever game we were playing. He wrote slowly and neatly, and the word was easily guessed.
But after what had happened earlier, I was in no hurry to come to a conclusion. I waited for Hendrix to finish the last stroke before I firmly responded, "It's Aurelia's name."
Hendrix gave a surprising answer. "Incorrect, Arianna. You still got it wrong. I've always been writing that word. I never changed it."
I frowned in exasperation. "Do you think I'm a mind reader?"
Hendrix chuckled before slowly raising his gaze and looking at me straight in the eyes, intently staring. "Just because it's the wrong answer now, it doesn't mean it'll always be the wrong answer. Remember this answer. This is our secret."Content (C) Nôv/elDra/ma.Org.
There was an underlying meaning behind his words. After pondering for a while, I understood the mystery of it.
If there came a day where we had to confront another person who had the same face as I did, this served as an effective way to prove my identity. Jordan had plans while Hendrix had solutions. I had to deal with every action they took. With Hendrix's support, I could handle things with ease even if they made a move.
At the thought of that, the stuffiness in my chest instantly dissipated, and I felt relieved and relaxed at once. The moment I met Hendrix's gaze, a smile appeared on my face.
In merely half an hour, I was shocked, frightened, and worried, but Hendrix's foresight resolved all negative feelings. Everything was attributed to his subtle control of my emotions. Even at that age of his, he could still give me endless surprises.
In that silent battle, I gradually drowned in his tenderness and had my guards slowly lowered. In no time, I would completely surrender and be sure to never leave his side again.
Although I realized this, I was not at all worried. I was even willing to do so because this man was worth it.
The years of unbearable pain rid Hendrix of his bad temper. Right then, as he sat before me, he was fierce tiger without fangs, a mace without saw-teeth. He was a gentle husband who would always
prioritize me before himself.
Hendrix stared at me for a long time, remaining as still as water. Before I could come to my senses, he leaned in and planted a kiss on my lips.
"If you keep looking at me like this, I can't guarantee that I'll be able to hold it in until we arrive home." With a slight curl at the corner of his lips, his breathing sped up. Evidently, he was not joking.
I was, however, in a good mood, and I was not afraid of provoking him. I deliberately gave him a poke. "What can you do if you can't hold it in? After all, we're in a car..."
Before I could say the next word, Hendrix got up and threw himself at me. With the armrest of the chair supporting him, he locked me in a circle with a malicious grin and slowly inched closer.
"Calm down. We're in a parking lot!" I hadn't expected him to take this seriously. I panicked and let my neck shrink into my shirt.
Hendrix, however, did not seem to
have any intention to halt what he was doing. Instead, with a smack, the chair fell straight down. My whole body laid flat, and we were locked in an ambiguous position.
Even though I could hear the sounds of people walking by in groups of three to five, Hendrix only got bolder and bolder.
All the reporters in the city were at the Cultural City. It would be extremely embarrassing if we were to get caught on camera! "No!" I quickly reached out, pushing a hand against Hendrix's shoulder. "There are reporters!"
