Chapter 2161
Chapter 2161
"Stop." Hendrix had ruthlessly interrupted Lucas's spiel and the entire living room turned quiet.
Unfortunately they were unaware of how to behave as a guest of Zuckerberg before arriving at our doorstep. They didn't look angry at being interrupted. Instead they smiled and gestured patiently at Hendrix to finish what he wanted to say.
"The club has no intention of forming any strategic collaborations." This single statement put an end to Lucas's entire plan.
Lucas thought that Hendrix hadn't finished, so he kept smiling and listened intently.
Hendrix however, clamped his lips shut tightly and calmly with nothing more to say.
The air in the room grew stagnant and Lucas's smile slowly dwindled.
"What are you implying, Mr. Roberts? Are you saying that our organization isn't worth doing business with?" Quinn asked.
I had assumed that Quinn wasn't a good man and he had proven me right. Just on time to vindicate my presumptions.
Who was Hendrix? A man from a small town called Ucrebury who dared to take down Valerie and Pedro. A man who didn't know fear.
Without changing his expression, he lifted up his right leg and rested it on his left leg. He had moved into a more comfortable position. He then spoke slowly, "Children will us childish tricks, and we should always provide opportunities for the younger generation. We can talk business if you want. But, if get any ideas on working with my daughter, please turn right and then take a left at the sixth traffic light."
"What do you mean?" Quinn asked.
"That's the way to the main police station in Jarold City." Hendrix replied calmly with a faint smile. He looked at them with such intensity that it became uncomfortable to look at him.
Quinn and Lucas stumbled for a moment before the word "police station" had finally sunk in. Lucas then slapped the armrest and stood up. "You did not just say that, Mr. Roberts!"
They hated the police, except for the ones who would cover for them.
Things had turned tense. Lucas's underlings had quietly shoved their hands into their suits.Content held by NôvelDrama.Org.
As Hendrix glared up at them with his cold and icy stare, he said flatly, "Oh, I totally did just say that.
Allow me to give you a crash course on Zuckerberg House Guest Etiquette 101: Uninvited guests will be regarded as trespassers."
Lucas spread out his hands and looked hurt. "Why would you say that? Your woman just told me that you'd be elated to have friends from afar visiting you. I thought you would be happy?"
"My woman?"
"Which woman?"
Hendrix and I blurted that out simultaneously. After we said that, we both looked at each other and then waited for Lucas's response.
"Hmm, which woman, you say?"
Lucas snapped his fingers at one of his underlings. The underling then took out a stack of photos from his jacket pocket and handed them to him.
Lucas threw the photos onto the table and said, "Look! That's you isn't it?"
I wasn't sure whether he was angry or confused. I went to pick up the photos. After that, I sat down and looked at the pictures with Hendrix.
We realized what had happened right after we saw the photos.
These were pictures of Hendrix and Andrea, or more accurately, these were edited photos.
These photos were taken after
Andrea had completed her plastic surgery, and she had gone out on various occasions with Hendrix. Because of Andrea's antics, they looked extraordinarily intimate.
This wasn't the first time I had seen these. But the last time I saw Andrea was before she had her plastic surgery, which looked uncannily natural.
The answer was obvious. Andrea had traveled thousands of miles abroad and took advantage of Hendrix's reputation to trick these men. She got us mixed up in this mess.
She did exactly as she said she would. We were disgusted at her.
What a sin.
