My Pretty Sweetheart (Arianna)

Chapter 2190

Chapter 2190

We returned in low spirits when we got off the plane, without any agreement in hand. We saw Hendrix waiting at the exit and just smiled at him.

On the way back, we told him what had happened in Andoland and how we felt helpless about it. "The purchase deal is bound to fail. Quinn knew about our plan. The other companies are most probably watching on our every move. It'll be hard for us to do anything. We have to think of something else."

Hendrix was focused on driving and remained very calm. "There's no need to rush."

After a moment of silence, he slowly asked, "Do you want to head back and rest or have something to eat first?"

"It doesn't matter. You decide." Just thinking about what Quinn did to us made me really angry.

Before he could answer, Anne interrupted, "Dad, could you drop me off here? I want to head back to the club."

Hendrix glanced at the rearview mirror and asked, "Aren't you tired?"

Anne shook her head. "Andoland is nearby, so the journey wasn't very tiring. Quinn's men have been coming around the club recently and I'm afraid that the staff would feel uneasy if we aren't around."

Hendrix kept quiet and silently turned the car towards the direction of the club.

"Thanks, daddy." Anne thanked Hendrix, then turned around and looked out of the window with a heavy heart, still keeping quiet.

When they were one street away from the club, we got stuck in heavy traffic due to it being peak period.

The traffic light seemed to be taking a very long time to turn green, this annoyed me greatly. I then rolled down the window and looked around. As the cars on the opposite side of the road drove by, I spotted a black BMW and noticed that it was Lucas'.

I continued looking until the car had passed through the intersection and then disappeared.

Was it just an illusion? The woman who was sitting beside Lucas looked very familiar.

"What's wrong?" Hendrix noticed that I was acting weird and whispered to me.

"I thought I saw Lucas." I raised my chin to point in the car's direction. "His car just passed by that way. I guess he must be heading to the club." "I see," Hendrix replied. He looked towards the back seat and asked, "Is everything alright at the club?"

Anne looked innocent. She shook her head, then suddenly remembered something. She quickly took out her phone to check if she had missed any messages. Then, she answered, "Nothing, just some minor issues. I've already dealt with them before we got onto the plane just now."

Hendrix nodded and didn't ask any further questions. Coincidentally, the traffic light turned green, and we continued our journey. The car was clearly moving much faster now however.

I turned and saw Hendrix's usual blank face, but the mood felt nervous. It made me uncomfortable.

Soon, we arrived at the club. Hendrix parked the car at the entrance. He left the car keys in the car, got off with us and strode in together.

Knowing that Anne had returned, her assistant immediately came out to welcome her back.

"Miss Moanna, you're back."

Hendrix ignored the assistant and walked in with a cold expression on his face.

This was the first time he had been to Anne's place, but the assistant immediately recognized him. When they passed by each other, the assistant was surprised at Hendrix's powerful aura and was stunned for several seconds.

"Did any of those people cause any trouble today?" Anne's voice interrupted her thoughts.

"No." The assistant came back to his senses and said this with a smile, "None of them showed up today. Besides Lucas, none of them came over."

All of Lucas' subordinates were

gangsters. They looked so fierce

el

that they could scare people and silence them just by standing around. The staff had been so frightened the entire time. That's why they were happy today as none of these gangsters came today. This text is © NôvelDrama/.Org.

Anne grasped her keys, paused for a moment then asked, "What was he here for?"

"He dropped off some wine for us." The assistant said, somewhat surprised, "Rizky didn't inform you?"

After saying this, she quickly shouted into the club, "Rizky! Rizky?! That's weird. He was right here earlier. Where did he go..."

Judging from how things are, we found that something was wrong.

Anne's face suddenly changed as she asked sternly, "What's going on?"

Anne was usually very approachable and nice. However, when she suddenly turned strict, the assistant was so scared that she stopped moving about and stood up straight, trying to explain everything properly.

Mrs. Roberts?

Since when did I say that? How could I not know about this?

I had been working very hard in the club these past few days, yet there were staff members who still didn't know me?

I felt angry and spoke harshly, "Think harder, are you sure that I was the one who forced you to accept that wine?"
