Chapter 2240
Chapter 2240
After that punch, I knew that things were about to get worse.
Jordan was by no means a good man who would repay evil with his own morality. I could tell from the way he looked at Aaron that he wasn't going to let this slide.
Aaron however, was fearless. His thoughts were written all over his face. I could clearly tell that he was going to swing his fist again. I guessed that he had planned to take Jordan down. However, Jordan's men had rushed in and surrounded their boss.
Aaron had to put down his fists. He was still fuming from anger. He took a moment to calm himself down before he narrowed his eyes and shouted, "Okay. Let's not waste any more time. Bring it on."
Jordan's men didn't move. They were either looking confused at each other or waiting for Jordan's command.
Aaron was enraged from being underestimated and cracked his knuckles.
Luckily, Aaron's men arrived and began to have a standoff with the other men. Once they got started, things would get complicated.
My goal was to save these people and I didn't want to cause any complications. While both sides were still in a stalemate, I asked the staff beside me quietly, "Can you stand up?"
The staff nodded. I then helped him up. But his body was huge and heavy. He nearly fell down as soon as he stood up. Aaron happened to see us and rushed over to help him up.
This was exactly what I had in mind. Men always had the strong will to win, but as long as they were distracted, tensions would loosen up.
I seized the opportunity. I pointed at Matthew, who was still unconscious, with my chin, and said, "Take him to the hospital."
Aaron looked at the bar and knew what I was worried about. He immediately turned to his subordinate and ordered, "Get the injured out." Two strong men came up from behind him. Each of them helped Matthew and the other men out of the club.
I gave Aaron a look and made to leave. I whispered, "Let's go."
Aaron looked into the hall and answered reluctantly, "Okay."
He then leaned to the side, allowing me to leave first.
I was prepared if Jordan stopped me, but no one stopped us when we walked out of the club.
On the way to the hospital, I was worried that Jordan would retaliate immediately. I quickly reminded Aaron to be on alert at all times. "You punched Jordan in front of his men He won't just let that slide. You have to be prepared. That guy is everywhere. He is horrifying."
Aaron changed the topic and patted the back of my hand with his broad hand. "Don't be afraid. I'll always be here."
I hadn't expected him to notice how uneasy I was feeling right now. I felt my nose wrinkling up, feeling quite sore as my red eyes began to tear up.
Even when I was psyching myself to
remain calm and rational, Aaron had seen right through me. He knew my weakness. Hendrix had a drastic change in temperament while Anne was attacking her own men. This was a tricky situation and it was nothing that I had ever dealt with before. Unable to get a hold of the situation, I couldn't help but feel flustered and panicked.
"Thank you." I held Aaron's hand tightly and said with a tearful look, "Thank you, Aaron."
He raised his hand and patted my head. "What are you talking about..."
That day in the hospital, Aaron didn't take me home until Matthew had woken up and negotiated all the details on his compensation.Content provided by NôvelDrama.Org.
The car stopped at the gate of the villa. The warm light hit from the car lit up the gate, contrasting the cold chill of the night.
I was scared that I would break down and cry in front of them.
