Chapter 63 She's Getting Better At Avoiding Me

He was a thin older man in his sixties. He looked like he would be carried away by the wind. He was

wearing a pair of round glasses, and his eyes were bright. You could tell he experienced a lot from his

eyes. A glance from him was enough to intimidate others.

"Why are you here? Dr. Wale."

The doctor who was treating Pearl's hand was young, and he was shocked.

Dr. wale snorted coldly, came in with his hands clasped behind his back, and his gaze fell on Pearl, "

You need to ask your junior sister. No improvement on medical skills, but she's getting better at

avoiding me!

"Junior sister?" Dr. Stone was surprised, and he turned to Pearl.

"What a coincidence. You're Dr. Wale's student too?" Pearl smiled at him awkwardly and replied. Content bel0ngs to Nôvel(D)r/a/ma.Org.

Fred Wale he was not only the director of surgery at Pearl's hospital, but he was a famous cardiac

professor and scholar at Ocpeace Medical University too. He contributed countless academic papers,

and he had lots of students around the world. It was not surprising to meet a few of his students in well-

known hospitals.

When Pearl was studying at Ocpeace Medical University, Fred was her supervisor, and he was her

mentor when she was doing her internship as well. If she did not choose to go abroad, he would

eventually become her masters' professor too.

Dr. Stone was surprised and envious after they introduced each other. He returned Pearl's medical

license back and marveled, "You're awesome. You has been a chief surgeon at a young age."

Before Pearl could take her medical license back, Dr. Wale snatched it away. He scoffed, "If I knew that

her temper remained the same as before, I would have kicked her out as soon as I saw her name on

the hospital's list. Things were much better abroad, right? Why you came back? You should just stay in

Maniville! I'm going to tell the hospital and ask them to send you back to Maniville!"

As he spoke, Dr. Wale turned to leave, not allowing Pearl to explain herself.

"Dr. Wale," Pearl called after him, but he refused to stop. She grabbed her handbag hurriedly and

chased after him. "Dr. Stone, I'm sorry, but I have something to do. I'll see you next time."

All the way out of the hospital, Dr. wale's back looked menacing. "

"Dr. Wale." Pearl rushed to Dr. Wale and blocked his path. "I'm sorry, and it's my fault." She explained.

"Your fault? Who would dare to say you are wrong?" Dr. Wale glared at her, "You were injured, but you

would rather came here than go to your own hospital. Are you going to embarrass me or yourself?"

"How dare I? I'm doing this for your sake too."

"For my sake?"

Pearl braced oneself and explained, "I can't go back to work because of some personal issues. It will

not be proper if I go back to the hospital right now. You'll be humiliated if everyone knows that I was

your student."

"Rumours find no credence with a wise man. Dennis is getting senile."

Dennis was the director in Pearl's hospital. Although he was not very famous, he was still a director. Dr.

Wale was probably the only one who could comment on Dennis like that.

Dr. Wale could not get a promotion after so many years, just because he was too straightforward.

After bringing up going back to work, Dr. Wale's face softened a little, and he said directly, "Don't go to

the set anymore and stay at home. I'll take care of the rest. Don't get yourself involved with those

nonsensical work, do you hear me?"

Despite being scolded, Pearl was not angry at all. In stead, she smiled cheekily and replied, "Yes, sir."

"I'm serious. I'm not done yet. Your hand is for performing surgeries. Don't you know how important it

is?" Dr. Wale kept a straight face and snapped.

"Yes. I know."

"Then why did you get hurt?"

"It was an accident, Dr. Wale. I'll definitely take care of my hands after this. I'll even get insurance for

my hands when I get my salary."

"Hmph, I don't think there's any insurance company who will insure it for you."

"Dr. Wale, I'm sorry, so please don't be angry," Pearl said with a smile, "You didn't drive here, right? Let

me drive you back to the hospital."

"I'm not going back to the hospital. I'm going home."

"That's perfect." Pearl's eyes lit up, and she added, "Mrs. Harrison is at home, right? I haven't tried her

roast beef for a long time. Come on, let's go. I'll drive you home."

Pearl pushed Dr. Wale to the parking lot. As he walked, he poked her head, "You're getting better at

currying favor, huh? Your lecturers in Maniville taught you nothing but this, right?"

"Well, my lecturers don't really pay attention to us. I learned everything from you."

"What did you learn from me? Don't mock me."

"I learned a lot of good skills from you. I was the best student abroad, and no one could catch up to me.

It's all because of your teaching."

Ever since Pearl was in college, she was good at flattery.

Back in college, everyone in the medical department was scared of Dr. Wale, but Pearl succeeded to

curry favor with him. Thus, that made her a legendary figure in her department, and everyone looked

up to her.

Dr. wale's house was decorated in a simple way. As soon as they entered the house, they heard the

sound in the kitchen.

"Where have you been? I told you to get some soy sauce, why did you take so long? Did you get

robbed?" There was an impatient female voice from the kitchen.

Pearl covered her lips and chuckled, then Dr. Wale shot her a glare.

"Why are you so quiet? Where's my soy sauce?" The voice from the kitchen grew louder.

"Mrs. Harrison!" Pearl shouted at the kitchen.

The sound in the kitchen stopped immediately. Just a second, a thin figure walked out from the kitchen.

The woman was Dr. Wale's wife, Priscilla Wale. She was in her fifties, but she still looked very elegant.

"Pearl?" Priscilla could not contain her astonishment and excitment when she saw Pearl. She added

soon, "You have come back for several days, right? I asked Fred to invite you over for dinner a few

times. Finally, you came! I almost thought that you've forgotten about me!"

"Mrs. Harrison, did you invited me over?" Pearl sat down and gave Dr. Wale a meaningful look. He was

drinking tea beside her quietly.

"Yeah."

"Dr. Wale never mentioned that ."

"What?" Once Uupon hearing that, Priscilla's face changed and she glared at Dr. Wale, "You didn't tell

her?"

Dr. Wale's hand quivered slightly but he pretended to be calm and replied, "Yes, I didn't tell her. Why

should I? Back then, she just left. Did she really think that I wouldn't be able to get another good

student?"

"Ha, your temper grows with your age, huh? Why did you clearly remember all those silly details? Pearl

is my goddaughter, I want to invite her over. Why didn't you tell her?"

"..." Dr. Wale stiffened his neck and finally muttered, "I'll go to buy the soy sauce."

Pearl watched the old couple argued and she burst into laughter when she heard Dr. Wale.

Dr. Wale was still a hen-pecked husband, even if they had not seen each other for years. Who would

believe it if all the medical department students knew it?
