Chapter 1939
Chapter 1939
Despite his words, Ian still took his phone and returned to his room after he finished his meal. Cindy was the one who washed the dishes and cleaned the kitchen. Once she was done, she walked out to find that the bedroom door wasn’t fully locked. There was still a slight gap in it. After hesitating for a moment, she walked over to the door, where she could hear Ian talking.
“Don’t worry. I know what to do about this. I have my plans,” he uttered.
Cindy couldn’t hear what the other person was saying. “I don’t have much control over such things. Love is love,” he said. Then, he laughed for a while before continuing. “You guessed it, right?”
The woman outside the room looked away when she got a vague idea of who the person was. There were only a few people who could make Ian behave in that way. After Cindy returned to the couch, she hugged her knees and leaned on the arm rest. After some time, Ian walked out of the room. He skipped over to Cindy with the usual look on his face—nothing seemed out of place at all.
“Who were you talking to?” Cindy turned to look at him.
“Hannah,” he uttered as he sat down and pulled Cindy into his embrace. His answer was just as Cindy had expected. “What did you guys talk about?” she continued asking.
Ian let out a laugh. “Your Facebook post exposed both of us, so Hannah called to ask me about it.” Ian wasn’t secretive about his relationship with Cindy. Once he decided that he wanted to meet Cindy’s family, he was no longer worried about anyone else knowing about their relationship.
Similarly, Ian didn’t bother to hide anything from Hannah. He told her everything about their relationship, and he told her that he wouldn’t let go of Cindy regardless of the challenges they faced. Hannah took the news well—she seemed to have already guessed that something else was going on between them. Therefore, her attitude toward him didn’t change after hearing the news.
Ian recalled something Hannah once said. “Any normal man and woman would develop feelings for each other if they spent enough time together,” she had said. That was why she wasn’t shocked. Through her words, Ian assumed that Hannah approved of his relationship with Cindy.
Cindy widened her eyes when she heard what Ian said. “Are you saying that Hannah’s pretty fond of the idea of us being together?”
He nodded. “It sounds like it. She seemed to have felt relieved after hearing that we’re together.” To some extent, Ian was able to analyze what was going on in Hannah’s mind. Cindy and I announced our relationship to the world, so we would have to deal with the consequences if we were faking it the whole time. For example, we’d have to find a time to announce our split, and we would have to deal with the responses that come after hearing about our separation. But if we turn our lies into the truth, then we’ll no longer have to consider anything else. Furthermore, others wouldn’t suspect anything since our interactions would seem more genuine. Now that everyone has already accepted our relationship, at least we won’t have to worry about the public’s opinion of us. Content © provided by NôvelDrama.Org.
Cindy nodded slightly. “You’re right. I’ve always been afraid that she would get mad at me for this.”
But Hannah didn’t seem to be against this matter at all—she even teased Ian on the phone. Her concerns were similar to Aurora’s as she reminded them to have protected sex. Since Ian’s career was growing and expanding each day, it was fine for him to get a girlfriend. However, it’d be a little too much to announce his marriage. The company mentioned some concerns regarding that matter.
Ian didn’t need any reminders from others. He didn’t want children just yet. Although he liked kids, he also wanted to spend more time with just Cindy first. He had seen how it was like when Sophia and John brought their two kids around. They didn’t seem like they were losing control of their kids, but most of their time was spent on their children.
