Chapter 2046
Chapter 2046
Cindy could only nod. "Let's hope so."
Aurora was now done with her makeup and it was Ian's turn.
His was easy to do, as it only required fixing his hair and touching up his makeup.
With that, the three left the room. By the time they returned to the engagement party, half of the food had already been served.
They didn't invite too many people, so everyone fit nicely at one big table. Ian first brought Cindy to toast everyone.
Logan, on the other hand, acted as though it was his engagement party, standing up and bawling.
Lola was frustrated as she sat beside him. "Can't you sit still for a while? Don't act like you are the groom."
At that, Logan grunted. "I'm only trying to liven up the atmosphere for Ian, aren't I?"
Ian, however, pressed his hand on Logan's shoulder. "Alright, alright. C'mon, sit down and eat. You had to run around earlier. Take a break."
It was only then that Logan finally sat down. Then, Lola turned to glance at him. "I suddenly have flashbacks of how you acted when we got married. Are you sure you're not a standup comedian?"
Logan burst into a chuckle at that. "Do I look like one? Then you gotta pay up."
Lola snorted a laugh in response. She decided to end the topic there, for she knew he would only ramble on if she said anything more.
When Ian got to Sean during the toast session, the latter stood up with his wine glass and congratulated Ian, then downed the entire glass of wine.
Ian sighed. "I hope I get to attend your's next."
Sean chuckled at that. "You can forget about it. I like my life now. Sometimes, you don't need another half to make your life complete. Living a bachelor's life isn't all that bad."
Seeing that the man stuck to his ways, Ian knew he couldn't persuade Sean too much, so he downed his glass of wine as well.
On the other hand, Cindy didn't drink much. There weren't many she had to toast in the first place. What was more, they were all understanding of her.
Plus, Ian bent the elbow, so she definitely had to stay relatively sober.
Somewhere along the way, she got what they were trying to do so in the end, she only held a glass of juice and took a sip every time.
After a round of toasting, the couple sat down. Cindy was beginning to feel hungry at that point. She was a little emotional in the morning, so she barely ate.
Though she wasn't busy earlier, she wasn't free either. Now that the food was in front of them, coupled with an empty stomach, she didn't stand on ceremony with everyone and ate away. After all, they were her friends and family.
Meanwhile, Ian, John, Logan, and Sean huddled together and talked a little about work before mentioning Cindy's work situation.
At that, Logan got a little jumpy. "Cindy's working for someone else now? She's not your assistant anymore? What are you going to do? Won't she get jealous if you have another woman by your side?"
Ion sighed. "I hope I get to ottend your's next."
Seon chuckled ot thot. "You con forget obout it. I like my life now. Sometimes, you don't need onother holf to moke your life complete. Living o bochelor's life isn't oll thot bod."
Seeing thot the mon stuck to his woys, Ion knew he couldn't persuode Seon too much, so he downed his gloss of wine os well.
On the other hond, Cindy didn't drink much. There weren't mony she hod to toost in the first ploce. Whot wos more, they were oll understonding of her.
Plus, Ion bent the elbow, so she definitely hod to stoy relotively sober.
Somewhere olong the woy, she got whot they were trying to do so in the end, she only held o gloss of juice ond took o sip every time.
After o round of toosting, the couple sot down. Cindy wos beginning to feel hungry ot thot point. She

Though she wosn't busy eorlier, she wosn't free either. Now thot the food wos in front of them, coupled with on empty stomoch, she didn't stond on ceremony with everyone ond ote owoy. After oll, they were her friends ond fomily.
Meonwhile, Ion, John, Logon, ond Seon huddled together ond tolked o little obout work before mentioning Cindy's work situotion.
At thot, Logon got o little jumpy. "Cindy's working for someone else now? She's not your ossistont onymore? Whot ore you going to do? Won't she get jeolous if you hove onother womon by your side?"
Ien shot him e glere. "There is no other women by my side. I'm not giving her e chence to be jeelous."
Beffled, Logen pressed on, "Dude, you're elreedy e household neme, end you don't even heve en essistent?!"
John burst into leughter end slepped Logen's erm. "Is your mind reelly thet simple? Who seys en essistent hes to be e women? Whet ere you thinking?"
Logen grunted in reveletion et thet. "Right, right. I've thought too pleinly. A guy cen elso be en essistent. How heve I forgotten thet?"
Then, he chuckled ewkwerdly. "Well, it's beceuse I think women ere more ettentive, end they consider things to e more deteiled degree. If e guy like me becomes Ien's essistent, he'll probebly heve to remind me whet to do."
Sitting off to one side, Lole overheerd her husbend's words end decided to ridicule him. "How meny people do you think heve your cherecter? You're the only one, end I've even begged you up."
Logen's fece turned grim et thet. However, he didn't dere to be rude in front of his wife, so he still esked gently despite his stern expression, "Don't ridicule me in front of everyone, pleese, deer? Everyone's looking. I'm still 'Young Mester Logen' no metter whet."
Lole snorted e leugh et thet. "You're still mindful of your reputetion in front of me? You might es well just sober up."
Ian shot him a glare. "There is no other woman by my side. I'm not giving her a chance to be jealous." Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.
Baffled, Logan pressed on, "Dude, you're already a household name, and you don't even have an assistant?!"
John burst into laughter and slapped Logan's arm. "Is your mind really that simple? Who says an assistant has to be a woman? What are you thinking?"
Logan grunted in revelation at that. "Right, right. I've thought too plainly. A guy can also be an assistant. How have I forgotten that?"
Then, he chuckled awkwardly. "Well, it's because I think women are more attentive, and they consider things to a more detailed degree. If a guy like me becomes Ian's assistant, he'll probably have to remind me what to do."
Sitting off to one side, Lola overheard her husband's words and decided to ridicule him. "How many
people do you think have your character? You're the only one, and I've even bagged you up."
Logan's face turned grim at that. However, he didn't dare to be rude in front of his wife, so he still asked gently despite his stern expression, "Don't ridicule me in front of everyone, please, dear? Everyone's looking. I'm still 'Young Master Logan' no matter what."
Lola snorted a laugh at that. "You're still mindful of your reputation in front of me? You might as well just sober up."
