Chapter 210: Whose Fault
Noticing the teacher’s uneasiness, Qin Muxuan took a deep breath. Holding back her tears, Qin Muxuan consoled the teacher, “Don’t worry. It’s not your fault. We’ll work it out.”
No matter how composed she looked, others could notice Qin Muxuan’s dull eyes. She only needed the news saying that Xiaobai was safe.
Turning to those parents, the teacher said,
“Mrs. Sun, Mrs. Tan, I know Sun Zhihao and Tan Tang are just kids, but we should deal with the problem after Xiaobai’s fine. It’s inappropriate to talk about that right now.”
The teacher was tender-hearted, but the way she handled things was naïve. It seemed that she had just graduated from a college.
“Humph, my son should go to a cram school. Such old drama has dragged us down. Well, we will wait until the kid’s fine.”
The teacher breathed a sigh of relief.
Gu Zijin strode in the hospital with a gloomy face.
Lisa followed him. He nodded to Qin Muxuan, “How’s Xiaobai now?”
“He’s still in there, getting tested. I haven’t got the results… I really feel…”
Qin Muxuan buried herself in Gu Zijin’s arms. She could be tough in front of anyone except Gu Zijin. She would whine about her grievance before Gu Zijin as soon as she saw him.
Gu Zijin patted her back as if he were coaxing a child, “Don’t be afraid. I’m here.”
Blinking her sore eyes, Qin Muxuan nodded.
There were two reasons she called Gu Zijin. Firstly, she was afraid that she would be at a loss. Secondly, she didn’t know how to deal with those unreasonable parents.
She didn’t have the energy for negotiation.
Those parents didn’t know Gu Zijin. Noticing Qin Xiaobai’s father came here, they started to pass the buck.
“Sorry, our kids didn’t do that on purpose. We can pay the medical bills. You can also ask for the compensation of pains and suffering.”
Gu Zijin’s face darkened. He felt disgusted when he heard their words. ‘I’m rich. How dare they mention money to me?’
“Lisa.”
“I’m here.”
“Inform my lawyer. We will address the problem according to the law.” Gu Zijin said indifferently, glancing around at everyone on the spot.
Hearing this, those parents changed their countenances. Those who were grumpy began to heap abuses.
“What’s the matter with you? We said we will pay the bills. Have you gone nuts? No wonder our child will pick on yours. You’re senseless.”
“Ma’am, I’m Mr. Gu’s assistant. Mr. Gu and Mrs. Gu are worried about Little Master’s eye. They are not in the mood to talk to you, so I will be responsible for the negotiation. If you have any question, you can ask me.”
Those adults were dumbfounded because of Gu Zijin’s attitude. ‘Little Master? An assistant?’ It was the first time they met such influential persons!
“Humph. Our son’s a child. What can a lawyer do to us? Well, you just need money, right? Say it. How much money do you want?”
“Don’t worry. We’ll try out best to win the case and get an extremely large compensation. You can find a professional lawyer to reduce the amount.”
Lisa spoke in a formal and soft tone. However, everyone could sense danger from her words. As Gu Zijin’s assistant, she proved her mettle.
The doctor came out of the operation room. Qin Muxuan struggled out of Gu Zijin’s arms apprehensively. She hurried towards the doctor.
“How’s my son?”
“Though the pen didn’t prick the eyeball, it’s serious. He will be visually impaired, but he might recover over a period of time.”
‘Might?’
Qin Muxuan’s heart bled badly as if she were drowned in the ocean. She couldn’t breathe. The next moment, she tried to step into the ward to see Qin Xiaobai.
However, she was stopped by the doctor, “Sorry, my lady. The patient needs rest now. You can visit him when the condition’s stable.”
“…All right.” Qin Muxuan struggled to calm down.
“And… Little Master’s a star, right?” The doctor asked in a wondeirng tone.Belonging to NôvelDrama.Org.
“Yes.”
“Keep him away from shows recently. Shooting and spotlight will ruin his eye. It’s better to attend a show after he recovers.”
Gu Zijin and Qin Muxuan extended their thanks to the doctor, asking Lisa to lead those parents outside.
“I knew it.”
Gu Zijin frowned.
“What? What do you mean?”
Gu Zijin answered in a low voice, but others got overwhelmed, “I’ve told you that he should go to the elite private school. If so, he wouldn’t have gotten hurt.”
Qin Muxuan wished Qin Xiaobai had a joyful childhood which was different from hers and Gu Zijin’s…
‘Is that my fault? Am I trying to hurt my son?’
Qin Muxuan bit her underlip, not knowing what Gu Zijin was considering.
“The life you plan for Xiaobai is not what he wants. He needs to grow up healthily and delightedly, but you intend to prison him in those stressful places!”
“Stressful? Xiaobai suffered in those places without any pressure. Muxuan, is that really beneficial to his future?” Gu Zijin questioned. His eyes turned red, “I draw up a plan for Xiaobai, trying to train him as the heir of the Gu Group. It makes sense.”
“Sense… Your plan makes sense, but mine doesn’t.” Qin Muxuan turned around with her eyes closed.
The teacher and Lisa watched them bicker, feeling embarrassed.
‘Should I mediate in the quarrel? This is their domestic affair, I know nothing. If I rashly stop the fight, I will become a nuisance.’
‘But… It seems that I look on with folded arms if I don’t stop them.’
“Excuse me. May I ask you something?” Lisa crazily winked at the teacher.
“Of course.”
The teacher answered as if relieved of a heavy burden. She followed Lisa out.
“Well, I’m always wrong in your eyes. Only Yin Youting hits it off with you. He’s the only one that agrees with you to send my son to a public school!”
‘Yin Youting? It has nothing to do with him!’
‘Can Gu Zijin stop venting his anger on others?’
“Gu Zijin, you’ve asked Xiaobai!”
“Xiaobai’s a child. Are you a still a kid? You influenced his decision, right? Or I should say you forced him to do so.”
Gu Zijin was aggressive. Though Qin Muxuan tried to retort him, she didn’t know what to say.
“How can you say that?”
“Anyway, he should transfer to the elite private school of the Gu Group after he recovers.” Gu Zijin said resolutely, “It’s non-negotiable.”
