Chapter 164 Surrounded by Reporters
Chapter 164 Surrounded by Reporters
Matthew’s eyes went dark.
“Hah, got it!”
The next moment, Blanca had stood bolt upright, playing around with the phone. Matthew felt a heat in
his body. Damnit, he actually swooned over a girl? And a girl who – was nothing like hot or anything
like that.
Matthew’s gaze swept past the slight swell of Blanca’s chest, while Blanca remained unaware. Peter
had sent her a text, asking “What’s up?”
Of course something was up. Something grand to do with her future.
Blanca beamed and was about to reply when she felt a shift in the atmosphere. A band of shadows
seemed to appear before her…
She’d thought it was Matthew, but when she lifted her head, she saw countless cameras levelled
straight at her outside the car window!
Shoot-
Blanca had never seen a scene like this and almost dropped her phone. She jolted, then found that all
the people with cameras and microphones out there were reporters.
“Wh-what are they doing?” Blanca swallowed, looking at Matthew beside her. Matthew’s face didn’t
register anything else. He seemed used to such things.
“What should we do, sir?” The driver hesitated. It wasn’t that he hadn’t come across situations like this,
but normally, he just drove the car straight to the underground garage, where reporters seldom
followed.
But Matthew wasn’t planning on that this time.
He looked at the reporters outside. Not too many of them, really. About twenty or so men and women,
every one of them hyped to dig up news.
If they wanted news, he’d give it to them.
“No need to drive over. We’ll get out here,” Matthew said. The moment he finished, he heard Blanca
stammer, “Let’s not go down there, Matthew, we could just hide out here…”
But Matthew had made a decision, and who could change that? His hand was already at the door…
“Hey…” If he wanted to die, he didn’t need to drag her with him.
A dark cloud passed over Blanca’s head and she saw Matthew go around the back of the car. The
reporters seemed to respect Matthew somewhat enough not to try anything, even making a path for
him.
Matthew was in a blue striped suit today, which made him even more elegant, even though his eyes
were still cold.
He walked to Blanca’s side, pulled out the door, and held out his arm. Blanca froze and went flushed.
But even though she hadn’t experienced much of life, she’d been educated, and knew that this wasn’t
the time to back down.
So she took a deep breath and took his arm.
As the two walked out holding hands, the reporters exploded! Yesterday’s internal news was true,
looked like. Matthew really did pamper this Mrs. Grant.NôvelDrama.Org holds this content.
The two looked pretty and a fit match, and the cameras snapped away. The reporters were overjoyed,
headlines for tomorrow long ready in their head!
“Mr. Grant, is your relationship with your wife good?”
“Someone seemed to capture your wife being harassed yesterday, is that true or a rumor?”
“Mrs. Grant, Mr. Grant is the wealthiest man of Oakshire, and so many women had wanted his hand in
marriage. Please tell us your thoughts on marrying him!”
They’d wanted to ask all those questions at announcement, but due to their fear of Matthew’s
threatening presence, they hadn’t dared ask anything. Now, it seemed like Matthew was in a good
mood, so they were following that string to its end.
“…”
Blanca was overwhelmed by the series of questions. She’d forgotten everything about last night, and
hadn’t remembered anything this morning, but with the reporters asking about it, images flashed
through her mind.
A man in his thirties had toasted her, and she’d gone unconscious after one glass of champagne…
Then she seemed to have made a scene, and Matthew saved her?!
She had no impression of that.
“Wait,” Matthew signaled at the reporters, then patted Blanca’s head soothingly, his expression gentle.
“How about you explain to them what happened last night, Blanca?”
