Chapter 208 Give me the pendant
Chapter 208 Give me the pendant
Quickly, Louise slapped Curtis right on his face. Curtis, caught off guard, barely had time to duck. Then
Louise walked out of the door and the clicks of high-heels were fading. She pushed open the door of
Matthew’s office and went in. Matthew was fully concentrated on his work. His dark eyes fixed on a pile
of papers, looking more handsome.
“I’ve done as you asked, Matthew, but those reporters are…” Before she finished the sentence,
Matthew interrupted. “Get out!” said Matthew in a cold voice. Even he didn’t look up from his papers.
Louise froze for a moment. She was bitter at his attitude. Tears began to come to her eyes. “Why do
you have to be this way, Matthew?” she said in a constricted voice. She moved quickly to his side and
wanted to hold his arms, but Matthew dodged.
Louise pouted and her eyes didn’t leave Matthew. Matthew wore a white shirt and his sleeves were
rolled up, his strong forearm exposed. When Louise caught a glimpse of Matthew’s abdominal muscles
through the layer of shirt, she felt herself going red in the face.
“I did what you said, Matthew. We can end this now,” Louise said. The day before, she was so scared,
because Clark had gone completely off the grid.
Matthew snorted in disgust. He raised his head and looked at Louise coldly. Louise met his eyes and
her face broke into a radiant smile. But in the next second, Matthew stretched out a hand and said,
“Give me the pendant!”
Upon hearing this, Louise was frightened out of her wits. “Wh..what… what pendant?” she stammered.
“You know what I mean.” Matthew was livid with rage. He shot Louise a look of annoyance, which
made every nerve in Louise’s body tingling unpleasantly. She took a great, shuddering breath and said,
“I have no idea what you’re talking about.” She tried to stay calm.
Matthew stood up and looked her straight in the eye. “I won’t say it twice, Louise!” Matthew said
impatiently.
Louise trembled and went rather pale. She tried to stammer a defense. “I…I…”
Just then, there was a gentle knock on the door. And Malinda came in, in her long white dress. She
looked like a goddess, pretty and with a gentle smile on her face. She walked slowly to Matthew’s big
desk and said, “I’m sorry. Am I interrupting?”
Matthew frowned. “What are you doing here?” he asked.
Louise breathed a sigh of relief when she saw Malinda. She ran to Malinda and put her arm around the
latter. “Oh, my God. Thank God you’re here. Malinda, tell him. I have nothing to do with Blanca’s being
kidnapped. I was out shopping with you that day! You can prove it.” NôvelDrama.Org holds text © rights.
Malinda’s face changed a little, but she hided it. She pushed Louise’s hand away and took out a
pendant. “Are you looking for this pendant? I saw it on my grandpa’s balcony yesterday. I heard you
mention it before. So, I bring it to you. Is it Blanca’s?” she said to Matthew.
