Please Let Me Go

Chapter 139 What Was the Matter

Chapter 139 What Was the Matter

Seeing he disappeared gradually from the corridor, Adelaide returned to her seat in a daze. She felt so

bitter that she couldn't speak.

"Excuse me, I'm going to the bathroom!"

She clenched her small hands into fists and said it in a voice that was out of tune after trying a few

times. Then she fled the private room in a hurry.

Looking at herself in the mirror, Adelaide touched her face and her fingers became wet soon. She

tasted the liquid on her finger, finding that it was really tears. She wondered, "Why... why am I crying?"

She had intended to say those words to anger Antonio and then force him to calm down with the

mistakes he had made. She thought she would be excited at seeing him being angry, resentful and

helpless. But what was wrong with her?

Seeing he left lonely, why didn't she felt the pleasure and satisfaction for successful revenge? Instead,

she felt bad as if there was a huge stone weighing a thousand pounds in her heart.

She patted her face with a handful of water. The coldness freed her from annoyance for a while. She

did so several times and therefore ruined the makeup. Her bangs became wet and matted in front of

her forehead. Some water came down her cheeks and into her clothes. At this time, she looked terrible.

When thinking of Antonio, she felt so painful that she found it difficult to breathe. Finally, she stopped

weeping, after which she dried her face and found that she had ruined her makeup. Adelaide took a

deep breath and told herself that he deserved all this and deserved no pity for him.

She just washed off the makeup. Having a skin as white as a newborn baby, she pinched her face and

made a gesture to cheer on herself when looking in the mirror.

Getting rid of negative emotions, she remembered that Aadam was still in the private room and

hurriedly went back.

"I am sorry!"

She only ate a mouthful of the good goose liver which was completely cool now. Also, she didn't eat

much of the bear paw. Presumably, Aadam didn't eat enough. She lowered her head and apologized in

low voice with guilt.

Aadam smiled. He had eaten so much of these dishes when he was in the United States that he didn't

even want to see them. It was no big deal. What he cared more about was that Adelaide said she liked

him! He took her hands and lovingly looked at her who lowered her head, "Adelaide, do you really like

me?"

He asked with some uncertainty, after which his heart beat very fast. He didn't have such feelings for a

long time. His grandmother also said that he could not marry Angel as long as he found true love. Now,

he had found the woman who he wanted to spend the rest of his life with!

Hearing this, Adelaide looked up and saw his affectionate deep eyes which were as blue as the sky

and would make people obsesses with it with just one look. She shook her head and got rid of

amorphous thoughts. Seeing this, before she spoke, Aadam became nervous and took her hand This is the property of Nô-velDrama.Org.

harder, "Don't you like me?"

Realizing that Aadam had misunderstood her, she shook her head again and again, "No, I just..."

Before she finished her words, Aadam held her into his arms happily when he heard the word "no" and

smiled with satisfaction like a boy just reaching puberty.

There was more misunderstandings. Adelaide was in a hurry to explain, but Aadam held her in his

arms and said, "I understand!" He swore to himself that he would definitely deal with Angel properly

and gave her an unforgettable wedding. He did think too much!

Adelaide couldn't find a chance to explain because he was immersed in his own world. What she

wanted to say was that she just took Aadam as a friend and she just deliberately said those words to

anger Antonio. Aadam wouldn't know it now!

In his arms, she sighed to herself, considering that she would find another opportunity to explain it to

him.

Adelaide pushed him away. She neither ate enough nor got the anticipated pleasure and joy, but

messed up the relationship between her and Aadam. Now she was deeply troubled. She got up and

said to Aadam in a daze, "Aadam, I'm going to go back now. I'll talk to you next time."

In the past few minutes, Aadam had already imagined what he and Adelaide would be like when they

were old and just wanted to tell her to stay with him tonight. Worried that the Adelaide would consider

him to be frivolous, he refrained himself from asking her to stay with him and sent her downstairs with a

smile.

The taxi had already waited at the door. Adelaide just opened the door of the car when Aadam

suddenly called her. When she turned around quizzically and was about to ask, Aadam kissed her

quickly on her forehead.

Soon, Adelaide realized what had happened, blushed like a cooked crab and stammered, "What...

What are...What are you doing?"

Aadam smiled so brightly that Adelaide could see his white Little Tiger teeth, "Get on the car quickly.

Remember to call me when you get home."

Adelaide got on the taxi with a blushing face as if she was fleeing. Daring not look at Aadam outside

the car, she turned her head to the other side, confused in mind. She wasn't a little girl who was

inexperienced, understanding what Aadam's action meant. She clenched her hands into fists and

decided to find a chance to explain it to him tomorrow under the influence of alcohol.

"Where are you going, madam?"

The driver turned around and couldn't help but gave her several glances when he saw her face.

"To the nearby hotel." she calmed down and replied. Today, too many things happened. She must find

a place to think it over. Adelaide patted her face and forced herself not to think about Antonio at all.

The hotel was as bright as the day because of the lights. Angel put on a fine makeup in her room, put

on a sexy short skirt and then knocked at the door of the next room with an enchanting smile.

"Miss Angel, what are you doing here?"

The housekeeper opened the door and asked in a calm voice. The smile on her face froze instantly.

She remembered that Aadam was still in the room before she went back to her room.

"Well, I want to see Aadam. Where is he?"

While talking, Angel no longer leaned against the door frame, but straightened up without smile.

This was a bad news, Joe wondered. Before Aadam went out, Aadam repeated many times that he

mustn't tell Angel where he was going, so he planned to pretend that he didn't know it with a sad

expression.

It wasn't easy to cheat Angel. Seeing this, she immediately put on the airs of master and sternly asked,

"Tell me where he is!"

Aadam ordered him not to say it, but Angel forced him to do it. Joe was really deeply troubled. In the

morning, Mrs. Bailey called him and told him to take good care of both of them. He was torn between

Aadam and Angel. He tried to get round it with a flattering smile, "I don't know."

"Joe, is Aadam the only master of you? Am I not?"

Angel had fallen in love with Aadam since she was a child, so she knew Aadam quite well even though

she dared not say that she knew everything about him. She could tell that there was a trick by the way

he tried to cover up.

At this time, Aadam suddenly came back with a seeming smile.
