Chapter 159: You Are Dismissed
Chapter 159: You Are Dismissed
“Listen up everyone, the president of SG Travel Agency is going to inspect our hotel this afternoon. Make sure nothing goes wrong even the tiniest details, got it?”
“Got it.”
Hayden just finished her all-hands meeting in the meeting room at ST Hotel.
The headquarters took up a long-term partnership with a prestigious travel agency SG, everything else was done, what was left was the on-site inspection. The agency chose Hayden’s hotel for the inspection.
As soon as the inspection passed, the contract of long-term partnership would be signed. After that, all SG Agency’s customers travelling in East China would be arranged to stay at ST Hotel.
In the afternoon, under the scorching sun, the manager team of the hotel stood at the doorway waiting for the inspection team.
A black Bentley showed up. A manager-looking person got out from the passenger seat and opened the back seat door.
A five-inch high heels with diamonds installed on the side stepped out of the car, followed by a pair of long legs. A woman got out of the car while holding the door as support.
Her black suspender pants with baggy cutting made her look tall. Her hair was tied into a bun, leaving a strap of bangs flowing down the side of her cheek. With her Bulgari earring and bright red lips, she was oozing with charisma.
What? Such a young lady?
Everyone was taken aback.
Nobody expected the inspecting manager to be such a young lady.
After all, SG was a globally-renowned travel agency, and East China was a tourist center. The woman in front of them was in her mid-twenties, and was extremely beautiful. It was hard to not be suspicious.
The hotel’s general manager walked up to her.
“Are you Vivian, the president of SG for East China?”
“That’s me.” The woman took off her sunglasses and put on a courteous smile.
“Call me Duncan. We’ve everything set up for your arrival. Please come in and take a look.”
“That’s good.” Vivian nodded.
“I had just been assigned back to the country. Even though ST Group is prestigious, this is my first contract working as East China branch’s president, I want to make sure the quality of the services my customers are getting, so please don’t mind if I act a little fussy later.”
“Not at all.” After a few chats, Manager Duncan and the rest followed Vivian into the hotel.
Not sure whether she had mistaken it, Hayden felt Vivian kept looking at her.
“This establishment is the oldest among all other ST Group’s hotels. However, the facilities are brand new. The refurnishing in this room…”
“Wait a second.”
Cutting off Manager Duncan, she halted at the lobby and stared at a vase of flowers on the table. She walked across to it in long strides and asked coldly, “Anyone can tell me what’s going on with this flower?”
Manager Duncan’s face turned grim and didn’t know what she meant.
“This hotel provides services to people from all walks of life, especially the blue collars and the wealthy. Did you ever think about customers who might have allergies with pollens when you put the flower here?”
Vivian’s face was filled with displease. She looked extremely disappointed. Text © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.
“We’ll take care of it right now.” Manager Duncan glared at the manager by his side, “Get rid of all the flowers in this facility!”
“Wait.” Vivian frowned and looked at the manager’s nametag, “You should be clear with your respective responsibilities. This should be taken care of by the hall manager. Is he the one?”
Manager Duncan stunned and looked to his side nervously.
Hayden was the manager on duty for the hall that day. However, everyone knew her relationship with Joseph. Even if it was really her fault, he didn’t want to put their boss’s fiancée in a difficult situation in front of everyone.
“It’s me.” Hayden’s voice emerged from the crowd, “I’m in charge of the hall today. It’s my fault to put the flower there, too.”
Vivian turned around and saw Hayden, who was in her hall manager’s uniform. She walked out of the crowd in a calm manner.
“Hayden…Downey.”
Vivian read her nametag in a slow manner, “Nice name.”
“Thank you.” Hayden frowned, “I’ll take care of the flowers and make sure it won’t happen again. I hope this doesn’t affect your evaluation on our hotel.”
“Mistakes can be fixed. But people who always make mistake are hard to be fixed.”
Vivian gave Manager Duncan a long look.
“You do employ all kinds of people.”
This remark was like a slap in Hayden’s face in front of everyone.
Perhaps it was because she had been protected too much for the past few months, she felt wobbly and her face was burning.
“You are dismissed.” Vivian said coldly and left with the crowd following behind her.
Lillian, who was at the front desk, came over to comfort her after the crowd entered the lift.
She was upset, “Why didn’t you explain, Manager Downey? You didn’t arrange for the flowers.”
“How could I have explained it?” Hayden forced a smile, “Do you want me to say it was Manager Duncan who ordered to put the flowers there as decoration this morning in front of everyone?”
It would be disastrous to the hotel.
It wouldn’t affect the company much if it was a regular employee who made a mistake. But it would be disastrous if it was the top management like Manager Duncan who made a mistake.
Hayden could only take the blame for the sake of the company.
“This is so unfair.” Lillian said with grievance on her face.
Hayden pinched her hand and smiled, “Why are you feeling worse than I am? All right, go back to your station. It’s good that she dismissed me, I can go back to my office to handle the documents.”
With that said, she went for the lift as if nothing had happened.
When she got into the lift, looking at the mirror, the expression on her face changed. She exhaled deeply.
It was so embarrassing.
In the VIP suite at the top floor of the hotel.
“Vivian, this would be your room throughout your stay here. This is the room with the best standard in our hotel, which there’s only two of them in each floor.”
“Hmm.”
After the crowd left, Vivian closed the door, sat on the sofa and made a call.
When the call was connected, she immediately put on a lady-like expression, “Kevin, I’m back. Guess where I am right now?”
“…”
“Joseph’s hotel.”
“…”
“I’m not here for fun, I’m here to work. My company made a contract with ST Hotel. Well never mind that, let’s have dinner together tonight.”
“…”
“You’re busy? I don’t care, you have to ask Joseph out for me.”
“…”
