Chapter 251
“Brother, we have to think carefully about what gift to give Mommy,” said Tavish.
“Uh-huh.”
The two children were a bit puzzled because they had never given Nydia a gift before. When Nydia’s birthday came around, she was always at the Malone Villa, and they were never allowed to go with her. Even if they were allowed to go, it was always half-hearted, and someone else would take care of them.
“Dad, what are you going to give Mommy?” Tavish asked.
“We each have our own ideas, so it’s a secret,” Taylor replied.
Molly immediately made a shushing motion.
The three of them looked secretive.
Nydia had no idea that they were thinking about her birthday. When she arrived at the company, it was already past 8:02.
“Sorry, I’m late,” Nydia apologized.
“It’s okay, let’s go,” Taylor said without saying much.
But another designer immediately retorted, “Taylor, you’re not going to say anything? She shouldn’t be late if she didn’t arrive half an hour early. It’s really ridiculous!”
“She just got here, and it’s her first time. Let it go. Maybe there was traffic on the way,” Taylor said.
But the person wouldn’t let it go and sneered, “You’re too easy to talk to, so you end up with people like her!”
Nydia felt uncomfortable hearing this, but she didn’t say much, even though he kept on muttering.
“It’s not like there would be traffic at this time.”
“I’m sorry, there was actually traffic for a while,” Nydia said because there was a traffic accident.
The person seemed to have been waiting for this and immediately cursed, “Being late is being late, no matter what the reason. Why didn’t you leave early? With your work attitude, it’s no wonder you need to use your connection!”
Maddie looked sympathetically at Nydia. She knew that this designer had a very fiery temper and couldn’t stand people who came in through connection.
“You know that I was arranged to come to the company by someone else, then why can’t you be more polite?” Nydia didn’t feel like indulging him. Her boss hadn’t said anything, so why did she need to listen to someone else’s nagging?
Maddie couldn’t help but burst out laughing despite trying to hold it in. She was glared at.
“Asher, don’t be angry, I didn’t mean it!” she apologized.
Asher Khan, 30 years old, is notorious for his bad temper in the design department, but he has designed two best-selling products, so he holds a high position in the department.
“These young girls nowadays really think they can be so arrogant just by taking a shortcut? If you’re so amazing, why bother being an assistant here?” he said sarcastically.
“Can’t I come here to experience life?” Nydia retorted.
“Taylor, you’ll have trouble with her in the future. If I were you, I would never take on such a hot potato, or you’ll regret it later,” he warned.
“Okay, enough talking. Aren’t we running out of time? Let’s go,” Taylor intervened, trying to smooth things over, and led them out together.
They needed to arrive early today because they had to run the market.
When it was just her and Taylor, he said to her, “Don’t take Mr. Khan’s temper to heart. But I’ll remember what happened today sooner or later.”
“I understand,” Nydia replied calmly.
“Are you blaming me for this? The chairman said you need to be treated equally and come here to learn and grow,” he asked.
“No, not at all,” Nydia smiled and shook her head.
“Then just work hard. When you become a designer, no one can boss you around,” he encouraged her.
Nydia nodded, though she could smell a hint of satire from Taylor and would wait and see how things would go between them.
That day, she was running around with Maddie, almost exhausted. Then they were notified of a departmental dinner and were told to go directly to the venue to meet up.
Nydia sent a message to Jesse: “Departmental dinner tonight, won’t be back to eat.”
Upon seeing this message, Jesse’s mood instantly soured, and he immediately called Vergil to find trouble for the Malone Group.
“Boss, the doctor’s appointment you made is tonight at 8 o’clock, don’t forget,” Vergil reminded Jesse.Belongs to © n0velDrama.Org.
“Okay, but let’s go find Vincent first,” he said.
He had been receiving massages for almost a week and needed to test how well they were working.
After Vincent finished testing him, he encouraged him to continue and said that he would gradually get better.
“When can I have the surgery?” Jesse asked.
Vincent hesitated for a moment and then replied truthfully, “Not yet.”
