Chapter 310 Jesse has no choice but to deal with Nydia
Luckily, Jesse only twitched his eyelids and didn’t have any other reaction. However, this made Nydia more cautious. If Jesse had noticed, it would have been all over for her, and she would never have had the chance to secretly treat his leg injury again.
So, she gave him another shot!
Nydia waited a long time for Jesse to have no reaction before finally breathing a sigh of relief.
She was really scared!
After an hour, she removed the ointment. This ointment would form a paste-like substance after its medicinal properties penetrated the skin, making it easy to peel off without making a mess on his legs.
But Nydia still wiped Jesse’s legs to make sure he wouldn’t notice when he woke up the next morning.
The wound left by the needle puncture was very, very small and could be ignored, which Nydia wasn’t worried about.
After leaving Jesse’s room, she yawned and went back to her own room to sleep.
The next morning, Jesse woke up feeling a tingling sensation in his legs, but he didn’t think much of it. He had already given up on his legs, so it didn’t matter what happened to them.
However, he was stunned when he saw the time. Why was it so late? He had been suffering from severe insomnia lately, and sleeping three or four hours a night was considered good. He didn’t remember when he fell asleep last night, but it was almost 8 o’clock now.
He immediately got up, washed up, and sat in his wheelchair to go to the dining room, where he saw Nydia and the two children having breakfast.
“Good morning, Daddy,” Molly greeted him.
“Good morning,” Jesse replied.
“Daddy, come have breakfast. You’ll get sick if you don’t eat breakfast,” Molly said.
Nydia looked at Jesse and met his gaze for a moment before turning away.
“I already ate. You don’t have to avoid me and not eat breakfast for my sake. There’s no need for that,” she said calmly.
Jesse was furious, but he had no choice but to sit down and eat breakfast silently.
“Don’t worry, I didn’t make it,” Nydia said, knowing that she couldn’t get up to make breakfast.
Jesse ate in silence and didn’t say anything.
After breakfast, Molly and Tavish left first, and Nydia and Jesse were about to leave, but Nydia stopped at the door and said, “Oh, by the way, there’s something I want to tell you. Next Thursday or Friday, it might rain heavily for several days. Don’t worry about it too much.”This material belongs to NôvelDrama.Org.
After saying that, Nydia walked away without giving Jesse a chance to ask any questions.
Jesse stood there in a daze, wondering if it would really rain heavily next Thursday.
He took out his phone and glanced at the weather forecast.
Although the forecast for the next few days showed rain, it didn’t indicate a heavy storm.
How did she know? And why did she tell him?
Nydia went to work happily, leaving Jesse with this puzzle.
In the morning meeting, Nydia and Maddie entered the conference room and sat down with one minute left.
The director came in followed by Zane. When he saw Nydia, he was stunned and his gaze stayed on her without any concealment for a long time.
“Consultant?”
The director nudged Zane, and he snapped out of it.
“Nydia, you’re back,” Zane greeted her.
“Sorry to trouble everyone. I’ll work hard from now on.”
The topic quickly shifted.
The meeting began with a discussion of the sales of the promotional campaign, which was inspiring. Then they talked about winter wear.
There were specialized designers responsible for winter wear, and production had already begun. In a few days, it would be put on sale directly without any pre-sale because time was tight, and there had already been some advertising, so there shouldn’t be any problems.
“This winter might be very long. I don’t think a single wave will be enough. Jessie, you showed me your design proposal before. Do you want to continue designing winter wear?” In the design department, Nydia asked everyone to call her Jessie.
“Sure, I’ll come up with a plan as soon as possible.” Nydia naturally wanted to make money. “How much autumn inventory is left?”
Another colleague replied, “There’s not much inventory left.”
“There’s no need to produce autumn wear now, so we’ve stopped the production line and are focusing on producing winter wear,” the director said. Actually, Willette had asked a long time ago not to produce the autumn wear designed by Nydia. Fortunately, there was enough inventory before Singles’ Day, but there wouldn’t be much left afterward.
This was good, so as not to crush the market. Nydia had no objections. She was happy that there wasn’t any inventory left for her autumn designs; otherwise, it might all go to waste.
After the meeting, Nydia returned to her seat and started to work, not noticing Zane’s thoughtful gaze on her.
The director pulled Zane into the office. “What’s the situation now? Do you know?”
“I’m not sure either.”
“But her coming back at least shows that those things online aren’t completely true, right? Otherwise, why would she come back?”
Zane nodded, still unsure where Nydia had gone during her disappearance.
But she looked fine and hadn’t lost weight, so she must have been doing okay.
Nydia finished her work and was ready to leave early.
“Maddie, if you need anything, just message me. I have to go pick up the kids from school.”
“Okay, don’t worry, I’ve got you.”
“Oh, right, my friend who took your pills, she was skeptical at first, but now she really believes in you. I used to have acne-prone skin, but now my face is clear and smooth.”
“Looks like I didn’t make you lose a friend,” Nydia joked.
She packed up and left work, running into Zane, who was leaving early. It was a bit awkward.
“Zane, I’m done with everything, and now I have to go pick up my kids from school. Sorry about that.”
When Zane heard the word “kids,” his eyes flashed with something dark.
“You have to pick up your kids every day from now on?”
“No, today the kids wanted me to pick them up. Usually the butler picks them up.”
“Okay.”
Nydia got in her car and waved goodbye to Zane.
Zane chuckled at himself, thinking he was crazy.
Forty minutes later, Nydia arrived at the Noble Star Kindergarten.
There were still ten minutes until school let out. She got out of the car and walked into the kindergarten, registering with the teacher before being taken upstairs.
“Mrs. Pascall, please wait here for a moment. School will be over in six minutes.”
“Okay.” Nydia sat down on the nearby sofa and waited.
The facilities at the Noble Star Kindergarten were quite good, and the teachers were decent, but the parents varied in quality, with many wealthy parents being quite rude.
“Mrs. Pascall?”
Nydia looked over, her expression confused as if she didn’t recognize the woman.
“I’m Sherry’s mother. We met last time, you seem forgetful.”
“Oh, hello, Mr. Hussain. I really don’t remember, sorry.” But there was no trace of remorse on her face.
“You…”
“Yes?”
“It’s about what I saw online, that you went missing.” She hesitated before saying it.
“Yeah, I went missing. Actually, I’m dead now. I’m a ghost.” As she spoke, she reached out and touched Mr. Hussain’s hand, which was ice-cold, causing Mr. Hussain to scream and fall to the ground, looking at her in terror.
