Chapter 25
Chapter 25
While walking towards the shore below, Sabrina let out her frustration towards her people, how they
betrayed her.
"Someone tipped off the association that they saw you with me. When I came back from my castle, I
couldn't believe that my cousin Vladimir was leading almost all of my people to go against me. They
said I'm a useless Queen and that Vladimir should be the King. I didn't know Vladimir was part of that
alliance from all races. He wanted me to be part of it but I declined," she let out a frustrated sigh as if
remembering the scene in her head.
"Why did you decline, Sabrina?"
"Because I don't see any reason to kill you, Alex. I have seen who you are and what you've been
through. You are just a girl who was lost after her parents were killed just like me…" I can feel the
struggle in her voice upon mentioning the word 'parent'.
The sad energy radiates off her body and everyone feels the vibes. The weird thing is my heart was
also in pain but it wasn't from mine. It was from Azrael. I look at him but he seems lost in his own
thoughts. Now that I think about it, I didn't know much about Azrael's life. He never mentioned his
parents too or he has siblings. I was so caught up with my own problems I hadn't realized I neglected
Azrael as my mate. Despite all the pushing I did to him, he still stays by my side. He's even almost
forgotten about his pack. He's just too persistent to get my trust…and love. I wish I could give him the
love he wanted. Knowing how my other spirits reacted when he's near, I know he stood a chance.
Azrael and Layla are just quiet while preceding before Sabrina and I. We were still half way through the
shore. There's no road, so Sabrina and I make a pathway just for us to go through.
I wanted to ask Sabrina about her parents but I didn't want to push her further because it seems like
she put a wall around her. Sometimes, Sabrina got closed off when someone or she mentioned her
parents. As for me, it doesn't hurt anymore like before because I already accepted the fact that they're
gone in front of me. I tried remembering that scene but it was still a blur whenever I forced myself to
remember it.
The silence was almost making me deaf so I decided to break it.
"How did everyone find out that I am a hybrid?" I uttered while looking at Sabrina.
Before she replied, she glanced at Layla first and seemed agitated, "It's…Michelle. I didn't know she
was already part of that association." I gasped and looked at Layla who stopped walking behind my
back.
"What?!" she uttered unbelievably. Sabrina looked at her sympathetically.
I saw her fist clenched and a mist was formed in the corner of her eyes but she was holding herself
pretty good not to burst out. "Just like you, Layla, I couldn't believe that Michelle sacrificed our
friendship just for that association. She betrayed me." Sabrina said and a flashed of anger crossed her
eyes. Her emerald green eyes darkened a little bit.
"She promised me…" Layla mumbled and upset, "I thought I could trust her." she added and pain was
visible in her eyes. I held Layla's hand to comfort her and smile faintly. I let out a deep sighed.
We continued walking in silence again. I was too consumed with my own thoughts.
'I know that woman Michelle is up to something with how she reacted when she knew you were a
hybrid.' Willow said.
'I noticed that too.' Xandra said.
'Tsk. I never felt a good vibe with that woman.' Val mumbled.
I recalled the time when I saw Michelle looking at me intently like she was studying me. I was too
caught up with my own emotion that I had forgotten her intense stare. But, that night, I saw her
hesitation. I never like to give an unfair judgment, so if I've got a chance to see her again, I will let her
explain why she betrayed Sabrina and Layla.
But as I looked at Layla, I knew something was bothering her. It's not about Michelle, it was something
else.
'Looks like I know why Layla was bothered. It's because of the King.' Damona said with a bored tone.
My forehead creased.
What about them?
'I saw how the King looks at Layla, it's like he adored the poor girl.'
'Yeah, the King even relaxed when Layla held his hand.'
Strange. Layla didn't know Stephen and as far as I know, Layla is not comfortable with a stranger.
'Hmm, something was off.'
I should have asked her. Or maybe later because we are now walking in the sand. The wind blows
furiously into our skin. My hair was swaying harshly behind my back. I frowned when the water danced
furiously and I could see the big waves ahead.
"It is going to rain soon." Sabrina mumbled.
"What are we going to do? I don't want to get wet!" Layla said worriedly.
The sky gets darker too, indicating that a heavy rain will pour down any minute. I look around trying to
find some useful leaves to make a temporary shelter. I chuckled slightly. It looks like we were trapped
on an island and didn't know what to do to survive.
"Look! That's a big leaf! We can make it our temporary roof!"
"Oh c'mon! The wind is going to blow that away!" I said. And we laughed.
"Not with the help of our power!" Sabrina said while grinning. I grinned too.
Oh well, that's a good idea. "So, who is going to climb?" I asked. Everyone gets silence until Layla
giggled.
"You can climb pretty good, Alex!" Layla said and my eyes widened.
"What?? No way!" I whined. They all laughed at me.
"C'mon, Alex. The rain is gonna come soon."
I sighed in defeat, "Fine." slouching my back I walked towards the giant tree and then climbed. I don't
know what kind of tree this is but it has big leaves. It was so fascinating. The thing is, this thing was a
bit heavy. How can a leaf weigh more than a pound? What is this thing? I sighed and just shrugged my
shoulders then continued picking leaves and using my powers I let the leaves fall into the lower ground
slowly.
When I finished, we built our temporary shelter under a huge tree. Just when we finished, the rain
poured down angrily. Since it was dark inside our temporary shelter, I let my eyes glow enough to give
us light. The three looked at me in awe and I just smiled.
"I wish I had eyes like yours…" Layla mumbled while smiling. She snake her arms around my waist and
lean into my shoulder. I heard Azrael let out a low groan while looking at me and Layla. I just smiled at
him and held his hand which made him relaxed a bit. Is he jealous?
I fight the urge to smile.
"I think we will be stuck here all night. Maybe we should sleep and we will continue our journey early in
the morning." Sabrina mumbled then yawned and lay down into the uncomfortable leaves. I hummed
and we lay down. I was in between with Layla on my left and Azrael on my right. Layla snuggled closer
to me and Azrael was still holding my hand and also snuggled closer to me. I smiled and just let sleep
take over me. The sound of the rain pouring harshly on the roof is like a music to my ear that sends me
to my deep slumber.
~~~~~
When morning came, we were all staring at the blue water. The big waves were gone and it was now
peaceful like it should be. The sun has just risen and we have a bigger problem now. How are we able
to cross the river without a boat? This is insane.
All of us cursed under our breath. I never thought that going to Tibbertan Mountain was never that
easy. I groaned in frustration. Sabrina was pacing back and forth while lost in her thought, probably
thinking of a solution to our problem.
"Ugh, how can we get a ship?" I mumbled to myself while also pacing back and forth.
'Hmm, maybe you can make a boat using bamboo?' Willow suggested.
Bamboo?
I turned around and then rolled my eyes. There's no bamboo around this mountain. It was all grass and
a few trees only.
'Ahm, how about flying?' Xandra also suggested. This text is © NôvelDrama/.Org.
'Or teleporting again?' Val chimed in.
'That's not going to work.' Damona said nonchalantly.
Damona is right. Only Sabrina and I can fly but it's limited. The next Island was too far away.
Teleporting is also not an option. It's not going to work this time, I knew it. The only thing we can go
through is by the use of a boat.
"We really need a ship or a small boat to cross the river." Sabrina uttered and let out an exasperated
sighed.
I sighed and walked closer to the water and let my feet sink to the water. I stopped and looked at the
black Island ahead. It was too far. This is just the first river and yet we struggled to cross the river
without drowning. But, I remember the rumors that the beast was residing on every mountain.
If we can get across the river, that beast was waiting for us, to be his dinner. I groaned.That would
never happen. I shook my head to erase the weird thought.
All of a sudden, I heard a lot of footsteps and noise coming from the distance. What was that? I
focused on the noise and I turned to the direction where we were yesterday. My eyes widened when I
saw plenty of people up in the mountain.
"Sabrina…" I uttered while staring at the sea of crowd. I gulped and they gasped.
"Oh no, they found us!" Layla mumbled shakily and ran towards me then grip at my waist tightly. My
heart rate sped up. Ugh, what to do now?
They already saw us and now they were running towards us.
Please, we need a boat before they can reach us…
I closed my eyes in frustration. I guess we don't have a choice but to fight them or teleport back to
Sabrina's mansion. But, we can't go back now. Tibbertan Mountain is just five mountains away. I can't
let this opportunity slip. This creature who was after me is not going to be a hindrance to my mission. I
will fight them all.
I will do everything to protect Azrael, Layla and Sabrina.
Before I could speak, I noticed my necklace glow brightly causing me to cover my eyes. When the
light's gone, I open my eyes and gasp. I heard the three also gasped. My eyes widened in shock.
How??
Is this a miracle? There was a ship in front of us !
"C'mon! Faster! They're coming!" Sabrina yelled and ran towards the ship. We didn't waste any
seconds and ran towards the ship. My heart was racing in anticipation. When we got inside the ship,
Azrael and I pulled the ladder up. I saw Sabrina maneuvering the big wheel and the ship's engine
slowly roaring to life.
I saw our enemy running faster into the water almost reaching the ship. As I panicked, I didn't notice I
let out a strong power in my hands. The water rose higher forming into a wall and turned into thick ice
in just a second separating us from our enemies. But they are trying to break the ice. I can feel witches
casting spells to crack the ice but I put more force to the water. I put another ice wall again to double
the layer. In that way, it will be hard to crack. It will take hours to crack the ice wall. I tripled the ice wall
then released a heavy breath. I inhale and exhale.
I turned to Azrael and Layla who had eyes widened and mouth agape. Sabrina was driving and the
ship is now far away from the islands where our enemies are still trying to break the ice wall. Sabrina
cast some spell into the wheel and it automatically maneuvers itself.
Sabrina smiled at me and walked towards us. We all sat on the wooden floor in exhaustion. I was tired
and a little bit hungry. We haven't eaten yet.
Azrael and Layla are still flabbergasted. I held my necklace and noticed that the anchor and ship wheel
pendant was gone. Now it made sense why my necklace was shining earlier. The pendant became a
boat. This necklace was truly magical. Whoever made this is so genius and had a higher IQ. I still
couldn't fathom why they will all kill me like I'm a bad monster.
"That was cool, Alex…" Layla finally uttered in awe. "Where did you learn that technique?" she asked
curiously. I just shrugged my shoulders.
"It just came out naturally. I never even casted a spell to produce such huge magic." I was also in
doubt.
Sabrina eyed me intently. "Alex, the technique you did, it's familiar…" she uttered and lost in her own
thoughts again. We waited for her to continue then she spoke, "Aha! That's the technique used by a
Water Manipulator---wait," she paused and her eyes widened.
My forehead creased and my heart rate increased in anticipation. "Sabrina?" I uttered for her to
continue.
She swallowed her saliva and spoke nervously, "It only means one thing, you are also a wizard, Alex."
It didn't surprise me. I nodded at her. "I know Sabrina. When Luke touched me, something inside me
woke up. Remember when we were in the mall? That pain I felt was so excruciating. Everytime I felt
pain, I knew something inside me woke up."
"So, does it mean that you also have a wizard spirit?" Azrael asked.
I shook my head no. Their forehead creased in confusion. I smiled at them and uttered the word that
made them flabbergasted.
"I am the Wizard." Yes, there were five of us---I am the wizard, Xandra is the wolf, Val is the vampire,
Willow is the witch and Damona is the demon.
"But how come you don't have any wand? Wizard used their wand to release their magic but I never
saw you using your wand." Sabrina said, confused.
I shrugged my shoulder. "I don't even know. That's why we were going to Tibbertan Mountain to find
answers to all our questions." she hummed.
The boat shook causing us to gasp. I stood up and my eyes widened when the waves went higher like
a mountain. Like something is underneath. My eyes glowed and a gasp left my mouth when I saw
something hidden inside the water like a mountain. Minutes later, a big monster showed up and roared
loudly causing us to cover our ears.
The sea monster is a two headed giant snake water dragon. It's black hypnotizing eyes were piercing
furiously on us while letting out a loud growl again. The boat continuously shook and we were gripping
the side of the boat for us not to fall into the water.
Is this the beast that was guarding the entire river and mountain?
I saw that the mountain island is not that far away. Did our eyes betray us earlier? Last time I looked,
the island was too far away and now we were almost there. So, this beast noticed us and now they're
furious because we can cross the river any minute?
Oh well, this is exciting. This is my chance to use my real power as Alex.
'Ugh, kill that beast, Alex!' my four spirits spoke in unison.
I grinned and stared at the beast.
Okay, it's showtime!
