Chapter 1621
"The shares now belong to Jennie. Even if you're unaware of this thing, I won't let Jennie suffer any injustice," Tyrone said solemnly.
Royce gave a small nod. He gathered the two documents and set them aside. "I'll hold on to these for Jennie."
Tyrone's smile was faint. "I don't mind."
"What's your opinion on Keilani?" Royce sipped his wine.
After Keilani had shared the events of the previous day, Royce suggested calling the police to take action against Tyrone. However, Keilani intervened, claiming Tyrone was oblivious to Kira's intervention and hadn't intended any wrongdoing.
Royce suspected Keilani harbored feelings for Tyrone, assuming Keilani probably discovered Tyrone was the father and then decided to reconnect with Jennie.
Royce sighed. If Tyrone hadn't married and was single, he could be the right man for Keilani. Yet, Tyrone had divorced and was entangled with his ex-wife, with prospects of reuniting. Thus, Royce was against Keilani pursuing a relationship with Tyrone.
Tyrone replied flatly, "Then I'll be direct. Keilani is headstrong and proud, always pampered by her family. I see her as nothing more than a sister."
"In that light, you should avoid leading her on."
"I've never led her on. Yet, the situation is out of my hands. She's Jennie's mother. How can I forbid her from visiting?" Royce froze, pondering. "I'd like to discuss Jennie's custody with you."
Tyrone's response was serene. "There's no need for discussion. Jennie and I believe the custody should be mine." Tyrone took a moment before adding, "Royce... You're aware of Keilani's character. She's immature. How could she possibly care for Jennie? I had taken Jennie in when I was still oblivious to me being her biological father. Now that I'm aware she's my own, my affection for her will only deepen. Plus, Jennie leans on me and prefers not to be with Keilani." Royce knew Keilani's nature and admitted Tyrone had a point.
One could easily draw a conclusion from the very few interactions between Jennie and Keilani.
Royce pointed out, "Yet, Keilani's presence in Mathias hinges on Jennie. Granting her custody would leave her no reason to linger here."
The previous day, Keilani had suggested it was best for Tyrone to raise Jennie. After all, she had no desire for custody and simply wanted to draw nearer to Tyrone. Why raise a child before being Tyrone's partner? The child would only serve as a burden.
'Her desire to be near Jennie stems from her wish to get close to me, not out of love for Jennie. Jennie gains nothing from staying with Keilani," Tyrone expressed. He had considered Royce's words deeply. Yet, with Jennie being his daughter, he couldn't just give up on her custody because of Keilani.
Royce let out a sigh. "Is Sabrina kind to Jennie? Does Jennie enjoy her company?"
"Don't fret. Jennie is very fond of Sabrina. A few days back, Jennie dashed out of school searching for Sabrina, which alarmed us."
"Oh? What unfolded?' Royce Inquired.
Tyrone provided a concise explanation.
Royce sighed again. Keilani acted on impulse, doing things her way. She showed up at the kindergarten to see Jennie, sparking rumors. How could Jennie possibly accept Keilani?
"You and Sabrina are still young. Eventually, you might have another child. What's your plan then?" Royce wasn't aware of Sabrina's pregnancy and was merely speculating.
*Rest assured. All my children are dear to me. I'll ensure Jennie is treated fairly, especially with your oversight."
"In that case, Jennie should stay with you. Well revisit this discussion as she grows older." Royce gestured toward the table, querying, "Have you remarried Sabrina?"
"Not yet."
"If there's no obstacle, consider remarrying her promptly." Royce hoped to prevent Keilani from entertaining illusions. Tyrone looked down, sighing. "It's complicated. Sabrina had agreed to remarry but was mad at me over Keilani's being Jennie's biological mother. I'm worried remarrying might not be feasible..."
Tyrone knew Royce wanted to use their remarriage to dissuade Keilani. Yet, remarrying Sabrina right now would undoubtedly get under Keilani's skin, likely driving Keilani to insane actions.
Tyrone assumed Keilani wouldn't target him directly. Chances were Keilani would seek other means to confront Sabrina. Given Sabrina's pregnancy, it was crucial to ensure no harm came her way.
Royce was taken aback.
Tyrone stated, "It's better if Keilani doesn't dwell on me. Perhaps engaging her in conversation more often or suggesting she return to Philade to reflect would help."This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org: ©.
Lance had wanted to send Keilani back to Philade.
"Let me ponder this," said Royce.
After the meal, Jennie said goodbye to Royce and the rest.
Keilani saw this as a chance to depart with them, but Royce and Lance anticipated her intent and intervened. Keilani was visibly upset.
Once in the car, Jennie started opening her presents, rubbing her belly with excitement.
Tyrone asked, "Jennie, do you enjoy spending time with your great-uncle and great-aunt?"
"Yes, I'm very fond of them." While Jennie was busy counting money, she suddenly mentioned, "I'm not keen on uncle."
It seemed Jennie had picked up on Lance's disapproval of Tyrone. Lance's constant opposition influenced her feelings, leading her to dislike Lance.
This revelation surprised Tyrone. "I'll take you to visit them often."
"Alright." An idea seemed to light up Jennie's face, and she beamed. "Those security guards are just fantastic!"
Tyrone smiled. Actually, those were guards.
"How about we go see Sabrina now? Does that sound good?"
"Yes!"
With that, Tyrone set off for Starry Apartment.
Meanwhile, Sabrina found herself at the police station.
Despite Galilea's death, the amassed evidence and testimony were sufficient for a conviction.
Had Galilea been alive, perhaps more information could have been gleaned. Now, with her gone, no new insights could be uncovered.
The cause of Galilea's death, as determined by the forensic expert, was self-inflicted. She had fatally injured herself against a wall.
The police concluded that the fear of impending punishment led Galilea to take her own life.
With the case nearing closure, Sabrina sought out Darren to delve into the incident involving two vehicles that had collided with hers. Unfortunately, her investigation yielded no new findings, suggesting the collision was merely an accident.
Grateful for Aldrin's efforts, Sabrina expressed her thanks and departed from the station.
Sierra emerged from the interrogation room, looking visibly worn. Time had not been kind, leaving her with a gaunt appearance, dark circles under her eyes, and a pallid complexion.
Briefly, Sierra gazed down at her protruding belly before making her way out.
During her exit, Sierra inadvertently crossed paths with a cleaner. The cleaner, realizing the collision, quickly apologized, "I'm sorry. Are you alright?"
Noticing Sierra's baby bump, the cleaner's concern grew. She inquired, "How far along are you? Do you know if it's a boy or a girl?"
Sierra glanced down at her belly and then back at the cleaner.
The intensity of Sierra's stare made the cleaner uneasy, prompting her to guess, "It must be a boy, right?"
Sierra remained silent.
After a brief look, Sierra stepped into the car, leaving without uttering a word. Had she not been on bail, Sierra's frustration might have led her to drastic action against the cleaner.
