Chapter 614 Nefarious Plan
Chapter 614 Nefarious Plan
Meanwhile, Ted managed to get in contact with Balthazar.
"Do you think we can stop the war at once, my friend?"
Balthazar replied, "You're seeking a truce? After what you've done?"
"We shouldn't have invaded Diatoran. I'm willing to make reparations if you order for your troops to
stand down immediately."
"You're the one who started the war, and now you're asking for a ceasefire when you're about to lose?
In your dreams! Do you think that reparations can ever repay the lives of the soldiers and civilians lost
in this war?"
Ted asked, "Then what do you want?"
Balthazar angrily dismissed him. "I don't need your land, and I don't need your reparations! All I need is
the eradication of all of Diatoran's enemies!"
"Aren't you afraid that I might send the entirety of my army for war?"
"Oh? Come on, then! I'll kill them all as well!"
"Calm down, Balthazar! We're supposed to talk this out! I only hope that you don't kill my Champion,
Viktor. I can pay you as much as you like!"
"Your land and money is only a matter of time. But none of your troops invading my country will be
spared!"
Ted was furious. "You're crazy! Why are you so cruel?"
"Cruel? Me? Your men burned and looted Southlake City while killing countless innocent civilians.
Who's the cruel one here? They'll have to pay for their actions!"
Ted had no idea how to continue the conversation. "So, you're saying that we won't be coming to an
agreement?"
He never expected things to end up like this when he first initiated the war.
"We have nothing to talk about to begin with. I'll see you at war."
Ted asked, "See me at war? What do you mean?"
"You Astronians invaded my country, and I'll be doing the same as payback! I'll show you the wrath of
Diatoran!" Balthazar declared and hung up the phone.
Ted was stunned for a moment. He never expected that Balthazar would actually want to attack
Astronia for revenge.
…
Meanwhile, at Riverside Villa, Willow and Zoey were overjoyed when they learned that Caspian had
defeated Robert.
Zoey exclaimed, "I already said that Caspian would be fine! Right, Willow?"
Willow replied, "You're right! I didn't expect Caspian to be so powerful that he could even kill Robert!"
"Yeah! Who would've known that Caspian and Robert would fight each other head-on? Everyone said
that Robert was strong, but in the end, he was no match for Caspian. It's a pity that we never got to
witness the fight with our own eyes. It must've been amazing!"
Willow asked, "Now that Robert's troops have been wiped out, I wonder if Alicia and Henry are saved?"
The official announcement of the victory was short and concise. It never mentioned anything about the
survivors.
Zoey reassured her, "Don't worry about it. They must be safe now since Robert's troops have been
eliminated."
Willow nodded her head and replied, "I hope so."
"Now that Robert is done for, the only enemies remaining within Southlake City would be Viktor and his
men. Caspian must be already on his way to defeat them. Once that's over, all our enemies will be
gone!"
"You actually have so much confidence in Caspian's abilities?"
"Why not? Don't you believe in your own husband? Your husband is the Diatoranian God of War, after
all!"
Willow became embarrassed after listening to Zoey's reply.
She was genuinely happy that she had married such a wonderful man. He would be a dream come true
for many other people.
…
Meanwhile, the Archers had received news of Robert's defeat in their residence. They had also learned
of Caspian's subsequent objective of attacking the Archer residence with a huge army.
All of them were frightened beyond relief and were at their wits' end.
They began to regret betraying their own country and helping the Astronian troops.
Nicholas and Kenzie searched the house for a very long time, but they couldn't find Laina at all.
Nicholas was terrified after hearing gunfire outside the house. He had given up on finding Laina.
Ted had also relayed Balthazar's words to Viktor.
Viktor became depressed as he was now at the end of his rope without any options left to escape.
Caspian continued to lead his men in battle, and Viktor's men couldn't even stand a chance.
Within half an hour, the Astronian troops had already lost half of their forces.
"General, only 30 thousand of our men remain!"
"General, our enemies are way too powerful! We can't hold on much longer!"
"General, please think of something! They're about to break through our defenses!"
"General, please lead us in battle!" Content held by NôvelDrama.Org.
Astronian officers were panicking.
Viktor, however, was completely pale as he knew that he was doomed.
"What for? Where do you think we can even go?"
The officers stood up and replied, "Where are our reinforcements? Are we being left here to die?
Maybe we should just surrender. We might still be spared!"
The officers seemed to have come to the same agreement.
Viktor, however, declined their suggestion. "Surrender? Me? I'll never surrender! My reputation won't
allow it!"
"Are we really just going to be sitting ducks, then?"
Viktor replied, "Don't worry, I still have a plan."
The crowd looked up at him with joy upon hearing Viktor's words.
"What is it, General? Please tell us!"
"Now that Caspian has brought all of his men with him, Riverside Villa will be relatively weak. We can
send a small team over to capture his wife!"
"Will that really work?"
Viktor explained, "Caspian loves his wife very much. We'll be able to get out of here if we hold her
hostage!"
"That's right! I heard that Caspian would never abandon his wife!"
"We'll capture Willow and force him to pull back his troops!"
"Perhaps we can even trade Willow for Caspian himself as hostage, and then we'll kill him!"
"This is a brilliant idea!"
The crowd was overjoyed.
They believed that Caspian wouldn't be able to see such a nefarious plan coming.
