The Alpha Vampire

Chapter 210 The Battle For Lilith

There is a special bond between Breyden and Lilith, a bond of pure undying love, and that is what one is experiencing now as we all watch him take Lilith in his arms. There are tears of great pain and agony that are streaming from a face that has only seen happiness for such a long time.

The man’s heart is hurting, and it is bleeding out to a slow death.NôvelDrama.Org holds © this.

We do not know from where we are standing if Lilith is alive or if she has perished in this great fight for her life. Breyden has not let any of us near him and has, in fact, cast a dome that is surrounding the space around him.

I cannot order the man to stand down; not only is he in pain, but he is not mine to order around. Breyden has stayed on earth out of his own free will, and in doing so, he has shunned himself from his own family. The Lecardes have become the only family that he knows after the departure of Tasnim and Teagen.

So it is with the same great sorrow that we are watching this display of undying love play in front of our own grieving eyes. I know that I shall fall into an abyss if my dear sister has to leave us today. But then again, before Breyden came into her life, she did express to me how tired she was of being a Vampire; in fact, on occasion, she has asked me to end her life.

Well, that is not going to happen by my hand or anyone else’s.

It is with a cautious step that I make my way towards Breyden, where he is nursing Lilith in his arms. I know the urge to heal her lies deep within, but he will not know if it will destroy her.

Though we need to step one moment back and find ourselves within the pages of a prophecy that has been told for years. Now it is not mine, but only the one of Breyden… The one of the fallen Angel.

Breyden found his way upon earth after he disobeyed his father for one too many times. His father scolded him and told him that he did not care about anyone but himself, so he was sent here to earth to find someone to care for, and once he had truly experienced it, he would be able to return.

Now we always did think that this person whom he should learn this lesson from was Tasnim and Teagan when in fact, it never was.

It was Lilith.

That is why she is able to take of his blood and not be turned into ashes when she does. Lilith and Breyden’s destiny was written in the stars long before they even walked the planes where they found themselves. Their love was set in stone from the day that they were born.

Now, I know what must be running through Breyden’s mind; if she can feed from him, then surely he can heal her. But if he does try, and it is not the fact she will, in fact, then truly turn into ashes as she does not possess the power of her soul, and Breyden’s power shall be like poison to her body.

So as I approach him very carefully, I try to assess the situation for myself.

Lilith has taken a very severe open wound to the left of her neck; then, if you move further down to the soft, delicate skin above her right breast, there is another rather big gash of skin and chunks of fat being taken from.

Her face his several scraping wounds on her left cheek as he obviously tried to gnaw at her while she was fighting him off.

As for fighting off, there are wounds covering her arms as she held him off only long enough from him to rip another hole, which seems to be just down on her right side close to her waist.

She has been battered and is losing blood at a very fast and alarming rate.

There are only two things that can save her; the one is the very obvious Angel in the room or the one that made her, and that is me. But the question is, will Breyden allow me to come near her to help save her life?

So I call for his attention above his soft sobs, “Breyden, let me help her.”

“Go away, Lucas. This is not your life to save. She is mine.”

I grunt underneath my voice and know that this one is going to be impossible again, so with one deep breath, “Breyden, you are being foolish. You do not know if you can save her. Now please, I beg you before we run out of time.”

He growls from the depths of his chest with one thundering roar that vibrates every window in the room, “I said back off!”

Well, that is not going to happen today, I will have to, and I shall, “Breyden, I demand you to let go of my sister. I am her Maker, and you have no right to her.”

He only but burst out in a fit of laughter so raw that it sends chills up my spine, “You! Her Maker! What are you going to do? You cannot even save your own wife.”

“How dare you!” In an instant, my eyes turn bloodshot, and at the very second my fangs snap, I step two steps closer, “You will not disrespect me in my house!” The edges of razor-sharp claws scrape against the invisible barrier that he has created. “I said let go of my sister of you shall regret your very words.”

He raises his head at me once more, and I can see the mockery in his eyes as they burn hot with anger, “What? What is the great Vampire Master going to do to me?”

“That is something that you do not wish to find out. Now I shall be a wise man and leave that body behind while you make your exit from my house.”

The very mention of the words stings my heart, and I feel as my breath is knocked away. Breyden is like a brother to me; having to order him to leave my house because I feel offended brings tears to my eyes. But I shall not back down, for my power should be known.

“Breyden, I do not like repeating myself, so I am giving you fair warning; let me not tell you again. You will let Lilith go, and you will leave my house.”

“Your word means nothing to me.”

“My word means everything. This is my house. This is my city. I own this goddamn state. And I am telling you, out!”

“You own nothing, you cannot even own your wife for a mere few hours, and she is already off doing whatever she wants.”

“You will not!”

Thunder erupts as the fury sets loose in my body; I feel as there is a force that ignites a spark of electricity from deep withinside me. As it surges through me, it pumps through my veins and forces the adrenaline racing through a heart that is thumping hard.

With a loud thunderous growl, I leap forward and burst right through the barrier that Breyden has created for himself. He looks at me rather stunned as I slash at his face with my right claw, leaving a deep gash that is oozing with blood.

It is in agony that he screams out, “Is this how you want to save your sister’s life.”

“No!” I rumble at him, “This is how I teach you respect in my house. Now I said it once, and I repeated it twice, for the final time, leave my house.”

In a snap of the wrist, I drag my nails ever so painfully through the soft skin of his other cheek. He only but stand at me in shock as he shakes his head at me, “You are a goddamn monster.”

“Oh, my dear Breyden,” I but shake mine right back. “You are in love with one. Now get away from Lilith so that I can see the extent of her wounds, and after that, I want you gone.”

Now, if I think that my grand display of superiority would have made a difference, I am sadly proven wrong. The man only tries to create another failed barrier around him and Lilith’s body. With each attack I set forth to take my sister away from him, he pushes back and keeps her away from my reach.

“Breyden, I will not say this again…”

He stops me from speaking as he raises his hand in the air, “I know, I must leave your house. Is that not what you said?”

With furrowed brows and a voice that has only irritation, I push forward again in the attempt to break through, “Yes, that is what I said!” With each syllable, I scuffle my feet around, trying to reach him, but, “I told you to leave my house!”

And in one flash of blinding light, Breyden is gone.

And as I open my eyes… Lilith is not where she was.
