Chapter 61
CHAPTER SIXTY ONE.
THREE MONTHS LATER.
The rate at which Damian rushed into the hospital was alarming. Just some minutes back, he was having dinner with Amy when she went into labor. At first he was stupefied on what to do but he had to man up and take care of liis wife, "Doctor" he screamed loudly for almost everyone to hear.
"What happened sir?" A nurse asked running towards him.
"My wife, she....she is in labor" he managed to reply, fear was written all over his face.
The nurses quickly brought a stretcher and wheeled her to the delivery room and immediately a group of doctors found their way inside.
Damian was very restless as he found the doctors and nurses going in and out of the delivery room. He wanted to know what was happening but no one was willing to say anything to him, just then his father in-law came in alongside Rubby and Jem.
"How is she?" he asked the moment he got to Damian.
"I don't know dad, no one is answering me" Damian replied, fear and guilt was evident in his eyes. The way he saw his wife scream earlier was too hard for him to bear, he began to blame himself for putting her through such pains. "Don't worry boss, she will be fine" Rubby said in a concerned tone.
They were all waiting apprehensively, when one of the doctors quickly walked towards them.
"How is she, doctor?" Her father quickly asked.
"There are some complications and we will need the father to make a decision. It's either we save the mother or the children".
This was like a bombshell to Damian, he felt like he was on another planet. His chest felt congested and he felt like throwing up. "We are waiting for you sir" the doctor said again.
"Boss, you have to make a decision" Rubby said as he held him.
"Boss, Amy needs you now," Jem added.
Damian kept looking at the two of them in confusion, he didn't know a day would come that he would have to choose between his wife and kids.
"Son, we don't not have time" Sabastian said and placed his hands on Damian's shoulder.
For the first time in their lives, the three of them saw tears streaming down Damian's eyes and he knelt on the floor.
"Save my wife please" he begged in tears. "We will try our best" the doctor said and quickly walked off but he was still kneeling there crying like a baby. "Damian" Mr Sabastian called as he tried to help him stand up but he wouldn't.
"She is my life, father, I can't lose her. I will lose my will to live" he said as hard bitter tears kept rolling out of his eyes. Rubby and Jem were equally surprised and emotional and Jer started to cry too. She really loved Amy like an elder sister and didn't want anything to happen to her. "Boss, Amy ma'am needs you now more than ever, you can't give up now" Rubby said, he was also feeling very emotional because he had never seen Damian in such a state before. Four hours had passed and no one was coming out of the theater. Damian felt like he was already dead and waiting to be buried, the tears in his eyes could not be stopped no matter how hard he tried. Everyone was silently praying for Amy because If anything happens to her, Damian would not be able to take it.
After a while, the door opened and a group of doctors filled out but Damian didn't make a move to ask them. He was scared of the answer he would receive, he didn't want to hear the bad news they had.
He didn't realize someone was talking to him until a hand prodded him, it was his father in law.
"Congratulations, both your wife and kids
are safe" said the doctor as he smiled at him.
He felt his world stop for a moment, did he just say his family was fine.
"What did you say?" He asked again to be sure". "Everyone is okay, both mother and kids".
Damian went crazy, he could feel life coming back to him. He quickly embraced the doctor out of happiness, those who were around him could understand this man almost lost his mind some hours ago. "Can I see her now?" He asked happily.
"Yes sure".
Soon after he finished his sentence, Damian dashed into the room. He could see his lovely wife sleeping so peacefully and he felt complete again, seeing she was not hurt or anything, he felt alive.

"Thank you so much baby" he said and kissed her wherever he could. After making sure she was truly okay, he walked over to where the cribs were and saw the three bundles of joy sleeping inside so peacefully just like their mother. Another set of tears welled up in his eyes but this time it was tears of joy, he had two boys and a girl. What more could he ask for?.
"Thank you so much baby" he heard a voice from behind him, he quickly turned and he could see his wife was awake.
"Are you feeling any pain?Should I call the doctor?" He asked as he quickly moved closer to her.
"I am okay baby but you don't look okay, have you been crying?" She asked in a concerned
tone.
"I thought I was going to lose you" he replied, this time he couldn't stop the tears and allowed them to fall
She cupped his face," how could you lose is when we have your love guiding us?we are here and I won't go anywhere okay?" She asked and be nodded. She slowly pulled him to a hug, she could feel huis heart beating fast. This man was really scaredBelonging © NôvelDram/a.Org.
"I love you Amy, I love you so very much," he said, still in her embrace," I will take care of you and our kids and I will not make you go through this pain again, the three of them are enough for us"
she smiled, "I love you too hubby" she said and placed a kiss on his forehead, "Congratulations ma'am" Jem said as they entered the room. "Thank you," she replied, smiling.
"Thank you princess for giving me these grandchildren" her father said happily, a tear formed in his eyes but he quickly wiped it off. "Congratulations ma'am"Rubby said smiling.
They each took one of the babies in their hands as Damian sat with his wife and allowed the kids to get acquainted with them.
"Thank you again baby" he whispered into her ears and drew her to a kiss. Soon enough, the happy conversations and laughter could be heard all over the room, it was a joyous occasion after all.
