Chapter Seventeen
Alex
I wanted to do more than just kiss Tracy but common sense told me to stop, I gave her one final smack
on the lips and looked into her eyes.
Her lips were a little bit swollen, her hair was messy, she wanted more, I could see it in her eyes, but
then that won't happen until we've talked about it.
"Tracy," I called not making any move to stand up.
"Yes?" She replied, her hoarse voice making me want to throw caution into the wind.
"I love you, see I love you so much that I don't care if you had children with another man, I don't mind, I
forgive you it is my fault that I left for six years, now I'm back Tracy, I don't mind raising another man's
children, just come back to me, we'd raise them together and if he insists on taking his children, we'd
work something out," I said
The look on her face went from wanting more to very angry.
"Get off me." She said confusing me
"What?"
"I said get off me you jerk!" She said pushing me off, she went downstairs and I followed trying to get
her to stop but she didn't.
She grabbed her bag, stuffing everything she came with inside, Fortunately, I was able to block the
door before she got there.
"Tracy what is wrong with you?!, Are you going to choose those kids and that man over your own
legally husband? I told you I'm willing to take the kids"
"Excuse me."
"No way, unless you tell me a problem."
"You are my problem, you are my problem! Leave me alone, stay away from me, far away from me."
She yelled startling me, she pushed me out of her way, then left.
I was surprised and confused, I wondered how I could be her problem, one minute she was warming
up to me and the next, she is getting mad at me, I don't know what to think.
I called Tony to give Tracy the day off since I won't be at work, and I spent my time thinking about what
Tracy said, I couldn't figure out why she would accuse me of being her problem, I just couldn't.
I took my bath and ordered pizza, I played games and I ate when the pizza arrived.
I was dozing on the sofa when the doorbell rang, I opened the door and I was surprised to see one of
the security guards at the door with bags of groceries.
"Good day sir."
"Hi, I didn't order for this."
"Miss Jones said you were expecting this." He replied
"Mrs. Johnson" I corrected
"Sorry?"
"She is Mrs. Johnson, that's my wife," I said collecting the bag of groceries from him.
I don't know why Tracy keep confusing me, she told me to stay away from her, now she's getting me
groceries, I don't know what to thinking.
I arranged everything, putting them where they are supposed to be.
I was bored but I knew I did the right thing by giving Tracy the day off.
I planned on playing more games but I slept off, James's call woke me from my short nap.
"Alex my man, where you at?" He asked
"At home."
"Good I'm coming over." He said sounding excited, heaven knows why.
I played games until James came in, he twirled from the door till he got to my side, then he dropped his
suitcase on the floor, I sat up so he that he could sit beside me.
"You look very happy," I commented and he nodded
"Yes I am, I brought you good news, my good man." RêAd lat𝙚St chapters at Novel(D)ra/ma.Org Only
"Really?, Tell me about."
"Not yet, tell how it has been with Tracy?, Have you been able to make her heart soften towards you?"
"It is complicated."
"What do you mean? Alex tells me you didn't do anything wrong to her."
"Well, I didn't do anything, but then it looks like I did."
"Tell me what you told her."
"Why?"
"To see if you've ruined everything dummy."
"I'm not sure, I told her a lot, I don't know where to start from."
"Start from anywhere Alex."
"Then I'd start from when you left, you know I employed her, we had a little rough start, I said
somethings, she said somethings too, she cried....."
"She cried?!, What did you tell her?" He asked interrupting me.
"I don't know, I said hi and she got mad at me."
"Alex, I know you are not telling me the whole truth," James said glaring at me
"Okay, I might have mentioned that I saw her, with her man and his kids, or their kids."
"Son of the living God!, Alex you've ruined everything!" He cried standing up to pace
"Sit down man, tell me what I did wrong."
"You did everything wrong, Alex, tell me what else you said."
"Well after that she began flirting with Sam, one of our clients, I tried to stop but then she cried
again...."
"Yeah, I'm sure she did because you told her she's flirting right?."
"Yeah well, kind of, then she came over yesterday, well I told her to come over, she came but I fell sick,
she took care of me and everything was going well until she got mad at me again and she left."
"Alex, what did you tell her?"
"That I love her."
"And?"
"I don't mind if she had kids with another man, she can bring them we'd take care of them and if he
doesn't want to let the children go, we would do something about it."
"Okay so did she hit you, throw things, or break anything."
"No, Tracy is not like that."
"If I were the one, you'd be in the hospital by now bro."
"What do you mean?."
"Okay so you know I told you I was going investigate a case, well I went to Florida, and when I got
there I went to your house, let me give you this credit, that place is great! And the people there, they
are as secretive as spy agents, they are also as observant, it took a while before I could get a particular
family to trust me, I told them I was looking for a sister in law I've not seen in a while and they gladly
provided me with information on the lady who lived close by, which is your wife.
"Okay?"
"They said, they saw a couple enter one day, but then the lady kept coming outside alone to buy
groceries or to bring out the trash, whenever they saw her she looked forlorn, after few months they
started noticing some changes but they couldn't point out what was making her change, after over
three months they realized she was pregnant, but few months after, she took her bags and she left,
they never saw after then, that lady is your wife." He explained as I tried to understand what he was
saying.
"Wait, you mean those kids might be my children?"
"There is more, I did some finding of your wife's romantic life, Sam is a high school friend, people
believe he has a crush on Tracy, and that man you saw with her is someone from her church who likes
her but Tracy kept rejecting him, you are her first everything as far as I know," James said, I felt cold,
very cold and scared.
"James?"
"What?"
"I might have said something a little harsher than I said I did, I mean I'm in big trouble."
