The Cherished Wife

Chapter 267

“In the end, isn’t it all about the shares Winter has?” Xavier glared at his dad, Joseph Why can’t anyone see why I’m with Winter? Don’t you get it, Dad? Xavier was upset. ‘Noelle and I were great together. We…”

“Enough!” Joseph cut him off. “You’re being so ungrateful. Can’t you see that I’m doing this for you? Marry Winter and get her shares. Someday, you’ll get the whole City Ring Corp, and the Shaw family. What’s Noelle got to offer? If she was capable, would I care if you two were together?”

“Noelle…” Xavier tried to say something but stopped. He remembered Noelle’s harsh words from earlier and felt like he had been slapped.

He thought back to his school days when he was free–spirited and full of life, a star student with so much drive. However, working life had trapped him, making him overthink every move.

Today, he really felt Noelle’s scorn.

Xavier’s hands balled into fists, his veins popping out.

He thought about Noelle saying she would sell her shares to anyone but him, and he felt helpless. After a last look at Joseph, he stormed out, slamming the door behind him.

Emília felt worried and wanted to go after him, but Joseph’s loud voice stopped her. “Why bother with him? Isn’t everything I’m doing now for that boy? Let him cool off on his own. And I’m warning you, don’t let him get away with his tantrums. Spoiling him will only ruin him!” Belongs © to NôvelDrama.Org.

Emilia’s face went a little white, but she bit her lip and managed a helpless smile. “Xavier is our son, Joseph. Aren’t you being a bit too tough on him? He and Winter…”

“Feelings can grow over time, and I’m not too impressed with that Noelle anyway! That’s it. The decision is made. You’re meeting Jade

tomorrow.”

Xavier felt like he was about to explode. A fire was raging inside hier that he needed to let out. He floored the gas pedal and zoorned away from the Harris residence.

The bar he arrived at was alive with bright lights and music. Xavier downed one drink after another, trying to drown his sorrows. His vision blurred as he took in the scene, his mind drifting to happy moments with Noelle. In a sudden burst of anger, he hurled his glass to the floor. Why? Why was Noelle not the favorite? Why had Samuel not given the shares to Noelle before?

If only Samuel had given Noelle the shares earlier. Then, he would not have to be with Winter, and none of this would be happening…

*Sir? Are you okay?” The bartender, noticing Xavier’s state, quickly signaled for security. ‘Sir?”

Xavier, his eyes unfocused, looked at the people before him and shovest them aside. I’m fine. Just keep the drinks coming” he said, tossing his

wallet onto the bar.

The bar’s customers were usually people trying to forget their heartache or job loss with a drink. The bartender took one look at Xavier and figured he was either dealing with a breakup or had just lost his job. “Sir, you’ve had enough to drisk”

“Why stop now? I’m loaded?” Xavier slurred, letting out a burp “Another

round, please “He fumbled with his phone, found Noelle’s number, and

called her.

Noelle was in the shower, and she had left her phone on the nightstand Charles walked in and heard the ringing. He saw it was Xavier calling. and his eyes darkened
