The Cherished Wife

Chapter 269

Noelle’s smile turned playful. “Sure, but you’d only have one customer–me!”

Charles chuckled and playfully tapped Noelle’s nose. “You’re such a tease!”

Noelle blinked and stretched her neck, trying to reach Charles’s face with her hand, but she was too far away. She pouted. “Come down a little!”

Charles gave her a look, holding her wriggling hand still. “Settle down. Your hair isn’t dry yet!”

“Hey, duck down a bit!” she exclaimed, trying to get up, but Charles gently pushed her back down. “No more playing around!” He did lower his head, though, and Noelle was delighted. She playfully rubbed and pinched Charles’s smiling face, noticing his eyes seemed to sparkle even more.

Noelle raised an eyebrow when she saw the look on Charles’s face and quickly let go. “Come on, don’t be lazy. Dry my hair already!”

Charles gave her a soft look and then tenderly held Noelle’s face, planting a kiss on the tip of her nose. Noelle giggled, feeling ticklish, and tried to push him away, but Charles held onto her hand, showering her with kisses.

He kissed her forehead, her eyes, her nose, and then her chin.

Noelle felt her heart race as he kissed her, and she nervously gripped Charles’s sleeve. She shivered as his gentle lips met hers.

With a quick move, Noelle found herself swept up in Charles’s long arms, turning completely around to sit on his lap. They kissed deeply, as if they could not get enough of each other.

After a while, Noelle wrapped her arms around Charles’s neck, trying to catch her breath. She had a rosy blush on her cheeks, and her damp hair was falling in front of her. Charles’s hand was on her

slender waist, and he whispered teasingly in her ear, “Trying to knock me over, Noelle?”

Noelle jumped a little, then shyly gave Charles a sidelong glance. “You’re so silly!”

Charles chuckled and playfully nibbled on Noelle’s ear. “Do you want me?” he whispered.

Xavier had been trying to call Noelle non–stop. At first, his calls went through, but suddenly, he was being told her number did not exist. That was when Xavier realized Noelle had blocked him. She was making it crystal clear that it was over between them.

Xavier could not handle it. Drunk and upset, he stumbled over to Noelle’s place and started yelling outside her door,

“Noelle, come out! I know you’re in there, and I know you still love me. Let’s talk this out. Can’t we patch things up? Noelle! Noelle, please come out!”

However, no matter how loud Xavier yelled, there was no answer from inside Noelle’s house. This content is © NôvelDrama.Org.

The landlord heard all the commotion and quickly called Ronald. “Mr. Wells, that guy who was lurking around here the other day is back, and he’s really worked up this time. He’s clearly drunk.”

Ronald was half asleep when he got the call, but he managed a dismissive laugh. “Just call the cops. It’s the middle of the night. He’s disturbing the peace, and he’s drunk and disorderly, right?”

The landlord caught on to what Ronald meant right away and agreed. “You’re right. He’s really drunk. Thank goodness Ms. Shaw isn’t home. If she were, she’d be scared out of her wits. I’m calling the police now!”
