The Cherished Wife

Chapter 276

Noelle smiled ruefully. “But there actually isn’t all that much I can do to them!”

“That’s what you think!” Teresa thought otherwise. “Don’t you know what sort of character Winter is?” Teresa recalled something else as she spoke. “Oh, right. Have you heard about the class reunion?” This material belongs to NôvelDrama.Org.

“Class reunion?” Noelle was stunned. “Did they say there would be a reunion this year?”

“That’s right,” Teresa said. She gave a rueful shrug before continuing, “You were overseas the entire year, so you probably had no idea. Yael mentioned wanting to meet up with everyone during their wedding earlier, and they called me up the day before yesterday. They heard that you and Rowena were back, so…” An odd look appeared in Noelle’s eyes. “You guys talked about me?”

“Yeah,” Teresa replied. When she saw the odd look in Noelle’s eyes, she asked, “You don’t feel like going?” Then, she added, “That makes sense. After all, those classmates…”

Memories seemed to float to the forefront of Teresa’s mind, and she sighed softly. “I know you probably don’t feel like going. Besides, you might bump into Winter as well.”

Noelle shook her head. “Let’s see where things take us. It won’t be happening soon, right?”

“The first day of the next month,” Noelle said before she glanced at Noelle. “Winter hasn’t been causing you any trouble recently, has she? I’ve been seeing her on the news lately. She’s been caught in plenty of scandals.

“She’s really lucky, though. Despite all the scandals, she’s still surviving in the entertainment industry. I heard she has recently signed with Royal Star.”

Teresa was not as easily irritated as Rowena was, but she still felt aggravated when she heard the news. After all, she was, similar to Rowena, one of Noelle’s closest friends.

They had seen everything Noelle had been subjected to over the years and were extremely displeased with Winter.

Noelle raised an eyebrow as she smiled without saying anything.

When Teresa noticed the look on Noelle’s face, she asked bewilderedly, “What are you smiling at? I’m doing this because of you!”

“It’s nothing!” Noelle shook her head. She had no plans to tell Teresa about what was going on. “I guess it’s because she really is very lucky! Let’s not talk about her anymore. I’ve gone through the books, and there aren’t any major issues, so I’ll leave now for another appointment!”

Noelle closed the books and glanced at the time. “I’ll hang out with you and Rowena some other time!”

“Alright!” Teresa replied, grinning as she put the books away before she got up with Noelle. “Since you and Charles are already married now, you should stop thinking about everything that happened in the past. Life seems pretty good for you now, and you should stop dropping by the Shaw household, given the dumpster fire that it is!”

“Alright,” Noelle said as she took Teresa’s hands in hers. “Gosh, you sound just like a mom. But you’re still slightly better than Rowena. She’s such a chatterbox and is so noisy!”

“Rowena will definitely kick up a fuss when she hears that’s how you’re talking about her behind her back!” Teresa could not help laughing. “Alright, I’ll escort you till here.”

After parting ways with Teresa, Noelle wandered around for a bit before heading back.

Charles was not home yet, so Noelle went to read in the study. She was making her way through a notebook of Charles‘ handwritten notes when she got a call from Sebastian. Upon hearing Sebastian’s voice, which sounded aged but not feeble, she chuckled. “Grandpa!”

Sebastian said exasperatedly, “So, you still remember that I’m your grandfather? Child, why didn’t you tell me the things that happened to you?”

Noelle asked, stunned, “Grandpa? W–What are you talking about?”

When she heard the strict tone Sebastian was using, Noelle could not help but ask with confusion, “But nothing has happened to me?”
