The Contracted Ever After (Cordelia and Ronan)

Chapter 159

Chapter 159

Samantha was pleased to see the hall packed with people. Cordelia saw Samantha and said, "Let's

go."

"Hold on, I need to give someone a key," Samantha said, pulling out a key from her bag.

Jamie, in the hall, felt very awkward seeing so many people. He kept his back to everyone, looking at

the bulletin board. Luckily, no one noticed him.

"Cordelia, isn't that your husband?" Samantha suddenly raised her voice.

"Who?" Cordelia hadn't seen Jamie yet.

Instinctively, she thought Ronan had arrived. Her face tensed up, and she started looking around. The

colleagues around her, hearing "Cordelia, husband," also instinctively thought it was Mr. Evans. They

all stopped to look.

After all, Mr. Evans and Cordelia used to be the focal points of the company's gossip. They all thought

some new drama was brewing.

"It's him. Jamie, I saw you two that night," Samantha said.

A crowd had already formed around Cordelia, all eager to see the show. They were snickering, amused

at Samantha's big blunder. However, no one told Samantha the truth. They were all waiting to see if Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.

she would screw up even more.

But Samantha was smug, thinking everyone was laughing at Cordelia for having such a scandalous

husband.

Ronan and Emerson just came back from outside. They stood outside the crowd, hearing everything

and seeing Jamie standing there.

"What night?" Cordelia's eyes were wide open. She was thinking, what was this all about? What was

the point of making up a lie everyone knew?

"It was Halloween. You two were chatting, watching the fireworks, and went back to the hotel together.

Isn't he your husband?"

Jamie saw how embarrassed Cordelia was and wanted to explain.

Under the public gaze, Cordelia felt incredibly awkward. She stomped her foot and left. She walked

through the crowd, not seeing Ronan.

She already knew that Samantha's excuse for visiting her mother was a lie, and the real plan was to

humiliate her. She didn't know Samantha got her husband wrong, she just thought Samantha was

trying to expose that night's event and embarrass her in front of her colleagues.

Samantha was so sneaky. She didn’t deserve to be her cousin!

"What are you looking at? Show's over!" Ronan growled at the people around him.

His gaze was as cold as ice. So, what exactly happened that night? What did they do at the hotel?

Ronan still didn't know where Cordelia went on Halloween, and Cordelia never told him. Turned out,

she spent Halloween watching fireworks with Jamie. How romantic!

"I remember where I saw Cordelia before." After Ronan had pressed the elevator for 'up,' Emerson

followed.

The two had just eaten out and were preparing to work overtime to finalize next year's budget.

"Where did you find her?" Ronan's answer was absent-minded.

"Remember when your cornea was burnt? Not long after you were admitted to the hospital, I saw that

young lady. That was her. At that time, she was waiting for you near the cafe. When you showed up,

she silently held your hand, then she turned and left. I finally remembered seeing her when I visited

you, but she didn't see me. Back then, she was carrying a big backpack, like an innocent student. Now

she's become more and more beautiful." Emerson finally remembered where he had seen Cordelia and

felt a sense of relief.

"Really?" After entering the CEO's office, Ronan lit a cigarette and tossed the lighter on the table.

There was only a hint of warmth in his heart.

Long ago, although he wasn't sure, he had thought, “With the smell of sandalwood soap on her and the

feeling when he touched her hand, it must have been her.”

But it didn't change anything. It couldn't erase the fact that she went out with Jamie on Halloween.

She didn't care about him. Even for her, it was nothing, just her “instinct,” just like the last time she

saved him. It was all her "instinct."

So, as soon as she went to college, she got Logan as her boyfriend; now she had a flirtatious

relationship with Jamie. From beginning to end, her world didn't have Ronan in it.

Even in the eyes of all employees of Lumos Enterprises, he was cuckolded, and this shame, he would

have to wear for a long time...

He had known for a long time that she felt sympathy for Jamie; it was only a matter of time before

something happened. Now, the problem had really occurred!

"I'll deal with it tomorrow. I need to go out for a while." Ronan extinguished the cigarette in the ashtray.

"Ronan…" Emerson called out to him from behind, but Ronan had already left the office.
