Chapter 433
Chapter 433
Two days later, at Birchwood College.
Two big events were shaking up the campus today. First, the city-wide basketball tournament was
gearing up for its final, the most intense match – Birchwood College versus the Polytechnic University.
Second, the popular TV series In Love With My Professor was being shot on location at Birchwood
College. The campus was known for its picturesque beauty, making it a popular filming spot.
However, the students weren't as interested in the filming as they were in the basketball game. After
all, the outcome of the match was a matter of school pride, a showdown between the two peak teams.
Ever since Harold mentioned the basketball game to Callum, the kid had been pestering to see it. Kids
were always drawn to excitement.
This interfered with Ronan's initial plan to return to Millstone. He'd left his vice president to take care of
things there and instructed Emerson to consult with Wyatt in case of any issues.
Ronan decided to stay put until the contract with Empower Operations was signed. He sent Harold a
message via Facebook Messenger. [Any tickets left for the basketball game? Callum keeps asking to
go.]
Harold's reply was laced with amusement. [Looks like the mighty CEO is going out of his way for the
kid, huh?]
[Just wait till you have kids of your own.] Ronan shot back.
Harold's next message took Ronan by surprise. [Good thing you're coming. I've decided to confess my
feelings to her during the game. My professor told me she's not as indifferent towards me as I thought.]
[All right.] was all Ronan replied.
[Should I drop off the tickets at your place? Do you prefer front or back seats?]
Considering he was bringing a child, Ronan replied, [Back.] The back seats were less conspicuous.
Just as Harold was about to deliver the tickets to Ronan, his team called him for a final practice match.
Birchwood College and the Polytechnic University were quite evenly matched, and this practice game
involved teammates imitating the opposing team's weak points for targeted attack. As the captain,
Harold obviously had to attend.
He sent another message to Ronan, [Mr. Evans, I've been called for a final targeted practice game.
The tickets are in my dorm. Could you come and pick them up?] Material © NôvelDrama.Org.
Ronan really wasn't that interested in the game; he was just indulging Callum.
"Callum, Harold won't be able to deliver the tickets. He wants us to pick them up from his dorm. Do you
still want to go?" Ronan hoped Callum would say no.
"Sure, let's go, Dad!" Callum eagerly pushed Ronan.
With a sigh, Ronan messaged Harold. [Alright.]
Harold left the tickets on his desk, but then his eyes landed on the pictures of Cordelia he had hung
above his writing desk and beside his bed. Fearing that Ronan, with his extensive resources, would
quickly find out who she was, Harold stashed away all pictures of Cordelia. He also instructed his
roommate Joseph to wait in their dorm for a person he deeply respected, who would come to collect
the basketball tickets.
"And don't mention Cordelia, not a word," Harold warned Joseph.
"Not even when everyone on campus knows about it?"
"It's none of their business, just don't mention it," Harold insisted.
"Fine, I'll just play my game and keep my mouth shut, okay?" Joseph shrugged, putting on his
headphones and returning to his game.
With that, Harold left for practice, feeling somewhat relieved. Unlike Harold’s mother, Janice, Ronan
could probably accept the fact that Harold was interested in a woman five years his senior. But Harold
intended to gradually reveal this to Ronan, rather than shocking him with the news out of the blue.
