Chapter 473
Chapter 473
Derek directly took Meredith home. "Easton was sad that you didn't spend some time with him. He
really misses you."
Meredith did not refuse.
The first thing she wanted to do in such a sad situation was to hug her adorable son to absorb the
courage and strength to persevere.
Easton was already out of school, and on the way home, he had seen the news on his phone.
"This Tina is really shameless."
In children's opinion, their parents were naturally the best. And Easton thought what happened to the
Horton Family had nothing to do with others.
How dared they frame his mother?
Easton was thinking about how to make these sinister people pay a price when the door opened.
Meredith walked in and saw that Easton was back. She smiled, but she looked tired.
"Mom, you're back!"
Easton had always been a smart kid. He could tell his mother was not in a good mood now. After
thinking of something, he walked over and held Meredith's hand. "I had done a lot of things in
kindergarten today."
Then he led Meredith to the place where he kept his toys and asked her to play with him.
Meredith didn't want her negative emotions to infect the child, so she managed to relax and built the
blocks with Easton.
Easton told Meredith some funny and embarrassing things that happened to him and finally made her
laugh.
"Mom, help me. I'm going to the bathroom."
Seeing that Meredith was in a better mood, Easton found an excuse to come to the study to find Derek.
Derek was trying to find out the whole story, and he saw the small head peeking out behind the door.
"What are you doing?"
Derek asked, "Aren't you playing with your mother?"
"What on earth is going on? Hasn't Tina gone too far? Do you want me to teach her a lesson?"
Easton was eager to do so. Mr. Xavier bought him a high-end drone from abroad a few days ago. He
hadn't found a chance to play it yet.
The last time he used a remote control plane to scare the bad guys who bullied his mother. He could do
that again.
Even though others found out it was him who did that, no one would blame him since he was still a kid.
"Save your little tricks. If your great-grandfather knows, guess what will happen?"
Easton had thought of many tricks, but when he heard this, he was frustrated.
"Then what should we do? We can't just watch mom get bullied and not do anything, can we?"
Easton looked unhappy.
After all, he was a child, and he didn't think too much. He only knew that he had to get back after being
wronged, but he did not know that the adult world was that simple.
Derek frowned and was about to say something but his phone rang.
Damian was calling him.
"Boss, we have found out where the girl is, but the Horton Family is keeping a close eye on her, so it
might be a little difficult to bring her out directly."
Derek thought about it. Meredith had specifically told him that the girl looked different from normal
people. If they brought her out forcefully, they would be in trouble.
The hotel that the girl was staying in was remote and not a luxurious hotel at all. It was a lot worse than
the one the Horton Family was staying in. "Pay for the attendants there to bring her out. Be careful not
to make her hostile to us."
Damian immediately started doing this.
When Easton heard that Derek was about to take action, he became excited too. Rubbing his hands,
he asked. "Do you want me to come? I can help."
"Are you going to make things worse?"
Derek didn't agree and he patted Easton's little head. "If you come with me, your mother will be alone
at home. I'm worried. Stay with her. Don't let her think too much and wait for my news."
Easton was a little upset because his head was patted, but seeing that Derek was already planning to
leave, he felt he could do nothing. "Then you have to hurry up. You'd better finish it today. I don't want
to see mom unhappy all night."
Derek didn't say anything, just walked out.
In the Hotel.
In a dark room, many design drafts were scattered on the floor.
However, the girl sitting on the bed did not seem to notice the mess. She stared at the paper in front of
her and kept moving the pen to draw something on the paper.
After a while, a man in black came in. He looked at the drawings on the ground and put them away. He
was about to leave, but when he looked up, he met the girl's fiery red eyes.
The ghostly look in her eyes made him tremble with fear, but he quickly picked up the drafts in his hand
and turned to leave. Suddenly, the girl tugged at the corner of his clothes.
The girl who had been sitting motionless was now staring at the drafts in his hand. Neither of them said
or did anything for a while. The middle-aged woman outside came back and when seeing this scene, Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.
she quickly pulled the girl away and let the man out.
"Sorry, sorry."
The middle-aged woman put on a fawning smile on her face. After sending the man away, she pushed
the girl to the ground hard.
"What were you going to do just now? Aren't they just a few pieces of scrap paper? What's the use of
your drawing? Why don't you sell them? At least you can earn some money and support yourself. I've
raised you for more than a decade. Don't make any more trouble for me!"
The girl fell to the ground and did not react after hearing what she said.
"What a lunatic."
The middle-aged woman shook her head and was about to leave when there was a knock on the door.
As soon as the woman opened the door, she saw a man in a custom-made suit standing outside.
Damian looked at the shabby room. "Sorry, someone wants to have a talk with you."
"Who are you? You're not from the Horton Family?"
The woman was very guarded. When she saw an unfamiliar Asian face, she asked subconsciously.
"It doesn't matter who I am, but I can tell you that I can give you ten times the money that the Horton
Family had offered you."
Damian had investigated and learned that the woman cared about money very much. Money was her
weakness, and he would take advantage of it.
"Ten times?"
The woman was startled, but when she saw Damian's clothes and his imposing manner, she felt
thought it was a good deal.
