The Proud Boss Lady.

Chapter 33: 33.

Chapter 33: 33.

“ Hailey! Lex is here to see you." Sunny screamed on top of her voice. Hailey was in her room taking a

shower and getting ready for her next lesson for the day. They were about to write their end of

semester exams and so school was a little stressful.

“In a minute!" she replied.

“Have a seat Lex, is there anything I could get you?" Sunny inquired.

“Hot chocolate would do, thanks." he smiled sitting and waiting for his drink and his girl.

“Here you go." Sunny set the mug in front of him.

“Thank you." he smiled lifting the cup to his lips.

“This is damn good." he complimented Sunny.

“Thank you, that's my speciality when it comes to making beverages," she explained as Hailey came

out wearing black jeans and a cute pink cropped top. She wore her long black coat over her outfit and

then wore a pair of ankle boots to finish the look. Her hair had been curled and she looked super cute.

Winter was coming up and the atmosphere was getting a little bit chilly.

“Sunny, go get dressed and please hurry we don't want to be late today again." she emphasised on the

word 'again

“Yes, Ma." Sunny teased as she hurried up to get dressed.

“Hey, you." she nudged him.

“How was visiting your mom like?" she asked through the phone.

“It's fun, I would be back tomorrow though, the girls decided to stay a little longer," Zed responded.

“So have you made your mind yet on whom your choosing, Freya or Soraya?" Sandy his friend and

sous-chef asked.

“Nope, I haven't yet. Both of them are wonderful women but I just don't know who to pick. Yes, Soraya

is bossy, rude and has no regard for anyone either than herself but she's my first love and I can't seem

to get her off my mind. Freya, on the other hand, is caring, loving and all you can wish for in a woman.

She's helped me in so many ways and I feel indebted to her. Do I love her? Yes, as a friend but

something more... I just don't know Sandy. I am so confused right now." he confessed to her.

“You're going to choose someday you know, so you better start tuning your mind on whom to choose,"

she said flipping a pan of shrimp vegetable rice.

“That's strange," Zed added.

“What's strange?" Sandy asked.

“Soraya is calling me, let me call you back Sandy," he said to her dropping her call.

“Hello?" Zed answered.

“Hi, how are you?" she inquired.

“Im good, what's up with the call today? You never call me," he replied.

“Relax Velasquez, I just called to check up on you, it's been a while and I kinda miss you," she said to

him.

“ That's, that's nice of you. Thank you." his eyes lit up at her confession.

“It's nothing, maybe we could grab a coffee or a drink when you get back to town, just as friends no

strings attached. That's only if you want to. And don't expect anything from this it's just a once in a

lifetime opportunity, don't hold on to it hoping it would happen regularly, no high hopes Velasquez." she

added rudely.

“'Whatever you say," Zed replied in the same tone.

“Bye then." she dropped the call on him.

Typical Wayne move, just when you think she has changed, she becomes much much worse. He titled

his head and pressed his lips together.

“Answer the phone Jackie, you can't ignore him forever. He's your manager as well." Jess scolded her

sister.

“Hi," she answered.

“Finally! I've been trying to get through to you but you've been diverting my calls." Mason ranted.

“I've been quite busy down here, what have you got for me?" she asked unamused.

“We've got a gig at Jussie Smollet's birthday party this Saturday, you better get your ass here fast,"

Mason told.

“For real?" she pumped her fists in the air.

“When ever have I joked with business before? You damn right I am serious." he jumped up and down

like a fangirl.

“ How soon do I have to be there and stop jumping up and down," she said to him.

How the hell does she know what I am doing? Mason wondered.

“Soon, soon...say Wednesday." he calmed down.

“You got it. See you in NYC on Wednesday," she assured him.

“Okay, later and take care of yourself, Jackie." he ended the call.

Jackie let out a loud squeal as she jumped up and down on her bed in excitement.

“Whatsit with the noise?" Zed asked bored as they piled into Jackie's room.

“ And who pissed in your cereal bowl? Wait lemme guess, Soraya Wayne?" Jess guessed correctly.

“Anywho, I scored a gig at Jussie Smollet's birthday party this Saturday," Jackie announced. NôvelDrama.Org: text © owner.

“OMG! That's great news Jackie, I'm happy for you. You are going to perform on the Jussie Smollet's

stage? Well, that's something I could brag about till eternity." Amelia added.

“Congrats Mi chica, I'm so proud of you. Just remember to do you. But I don't know this Smullott you

speak about, who's he?" Trudy asked.

“Thanks, Mama, it's Smollett and not Smullott and he's a famous actor in the popular tv series

'EMPIRE'" she explained.

“You're so beautiful (Shake it, shake it)

Give the world a show (Move it, move it)

Go up-down, up-down, up-down

Go up-down, up-down, up-down

Shake it fast, it's yours

(How much you pay for it?)

I say you're so beautiful (Shake it, shake it)

And I don't care who knows (Move it, move it)

Go up-down, up-down, up-down

Go up-down, up-down, up-down

Shake it fast

'Cause, it sure look good to me.." Jackie and her siblings sang out happily.

“...so when do you leave for NYC?" Jess asked her sister as they went out to check on how her old

saloon was doing.

“Mase said Wednesday," Jackie added.

“That's great, but I hope you're not going to keep the way you feel about him to yourself?" Jess

inquired.

"It's just business Jess, nothing more or less." she tried to change the topic.

“Stop lying to yourself chica, I am your twin, remember? And I know you like him." she wiggled her

brows at her.

"What if he doesn't like me back? Then what happens?" she urged.

“If he doesn't, at least you got that off your chest and you both proceed with your artiste-manager

business." Jess shrugged.

“You do know if he says he doesn't feel the same things could go awkward right?" Jackie raised a brow.

“Of course I do, but it doesn't hurt to try." she winked as they entered the saloon.

" Nichole, meet my cousin Deven, Deven, my boss and friend, Nichole." Val introduced winking at

Nichole who glared at her.

“Hi, it's nice to meet you, Nichole, Val has been talking non-stop about you," Deven stated.

“Good things I hope?" she pressed her lips together.

“Of course," Deven added.

“Since you've heard much about me, tell me about yourself Deven." Nichole sipped her coffee.

“Okay, I am Deven Richardson of---"

“DR Electronics, the biggest electronics company in Italy, how could I miss that?" Nichole fangirled.

“Because my charm worked on you." he smiled.

“You could say that again." they both laughed as Nichole gave Val the 'why-didnt-you -tell-me-that'

look
