Chapter 229 Offend the Producer

After Amelie discharged from the hospital, she did not return to the crew immediately, which caused many people to speculate.

“Although Amelie doesn’t have many scenes, she is the chief actress. She will film in two days. If she doesn’t come, should I do about the loss caused by her?”

what

Chris‘ assistant said with dissatisfaction.

“Stop talking about that. You are so annoying.”

Chris scolded and turned to leave.

Cynthia, who had just finished filming, happened to see Chris‘ expression and roughly knew what had happened from the assistant.

“They love to gossip.”

“Cynthia, do you want me to teach them a lesson?”

“No need. I will deal with it.”

Cynthia was confident and had a plan in mind.

In the evening, there was a dinner party, and everyone on the crew came to the party.

Without Amelie, Cynthia was the chief actress.

“Ms. Gladstone, your performance is so amazing.”

Alvin Collins, the producer, said happily.

“Thank you, Mr. Collins. I have to make further progress.”

“That’s not necessary. Amelie is not here, so you are the chief actress in the crew. I think the script should be rewritten. Then, the process will not be delayed.”

Alvin finished his wine and said with a smile..

He seemed to be kidding. However, clever people knew he said that on purpose. He was complaining the progress was delayed because of Amelie.

Chris sat aside. Hearing Alvin’s words, he became sullen but couldn’t fly into a rage on such an occasion. He could only grin unnaturally and take a sip of his wine.

When Cynthia heard that, she became unhappy..

“You are wrong. It’s not that Amelie wanted to delay the process. If she was not poisoned, how could she delay? When did you become so unreasonable?”

Cynthia said that on purpose. She wanted to humiliate Alvin.

“I don’t think that way, Ms. Gladstone. You have misunderstood.” Please check at N/ôvel(D)rama.Org.

Alvin quickly explained.

“Don’t be excited. I didn’t mean that. I just want to know what the next plot is. Will you rewrite it?”

Cynthia said that deliberately.

She wanted to see what the plausible man would say.

“Well, don’t worry. I won’t rewrite it.”

Alvin was clever and changed his tone.

“Well, I’m relieved. Thank you.”

Cynthia smiled, but her smile was hostile.

Alvin felt a chill down his spine.

Amelie was from Prosperity Global. If Amelie knew what Alvin had said, he would not had been targeted. It was hard to say what the consequence would be.

After the party, Cynthia left soon.

She didn’t like that occasion.

As soon as Cynthia walked out of the restaurant, she saw someone familiar.

“Why are you here?”

Jeff was standing in front of Cynthia. He was in a set of black casual wear, and wore a peaked cap and a mask. It was hard to recognize him.

“I was passing by and came to see you when I knew you were having dinner here.”

Cynthia was surprised but didn’t show it. She looked indifferent.

“Really? What a coincidence!”

Then, Cynthia went past Jeff.

She had decided to forget Jeff and didn’t want to lose herself because of him.

“Hold on. I have something to tell you.”

Realizing she was about to leave, Jeff stopped her.

“Why? Mr. Capet, what do you want to say?”

Cynthia’s tone became indifferent, which made Jeff feel strange.

“I…”

At that moment, there was a noise behind Jeff.

It was the other staff members of the crew.

Cynthia smiled unnaturally.

“Mr. Capet, I don’t want others to see me talking with a stranger. I’m an actress and don’t want any gossip, so I hope you can

leave now.”

Cynthia held back her emotions and said.

“Okay, don’t worry. I won’t cause you any trouble.”

Jeff turned and left after speaking.

Staring at his back, Cynthia felt sorry for him.

“Ms. Gladstone, why haven’t you left? I thought you were in the car.”

There came Alvin’s voice.

Cynthia came to her senses and turned to look at Alvin with a smile.

“I left something in the restaurant, so I’m going to get it.”

Cynthia explained and hurried into the restaurant again.

Seeing that, Chris and Alvin felt she was strange.

They had drunk a lot and didn’t pay attention to Cynthia anymore.

Cynthia found an excuse to shake off Alvin.

She walked into the restaurant and found a place to sit down.

Her mind was blank. It might be because of the alcohol.

After taking a rest, Cynthia was about to stand up and leave, but a man sat opposite her.

Cynthia looked at the man and realized it was Jeff, who had just left.

“Why did you come in?”

Cynthia frowned and looked around worriedly.

It was getting late. There were not many people in the restaurant, so Cynthia got relieved.

“I saw you were coming in, so I followed in.”

Jeff looked at Cynthia and poured her a cup of water.

“Drink some water. You will feel better.”

“What do you mean? Why are you so kind to me? Do you think I will forgive you?”

Cynthia was still cold to Jeff.

“I want to tell you that I don’t like Amelie. I protected her because of the agreement between our families. You know I always keep my promise and I will do what my best to what I have promised.”

“Why did you say that to me?”

Cynthia was surprised after hearing Jeff’s words but did not forget what he had done to her.

“I want you to know I haven’t changed my mind for you.”

Jeff stared at Cynthia affectionately.

She was moved and unnaturally raised her hand to brush her hair.

“Do you know it’s too late to say that?”

Cynthia held back her grievances and whispered.

“I know. However, I still want to be reconciled with you. Let me take care of you, but I need some time. As long as Willard’s matter is resolved, our relationship could be open and aboveboard.”

Jeff said firmly and sincerely.

“Is that exactly what you think?”

Cynthia couldn’t believe that and she wanted to confirm.
