But she couldn't find any good topics. She couldn't talk about her job or the investment. After all, they

had talked about everything they could about those.

Cindy was feeling frustrated, but then Gary said, "Does Ian come home at night?"

Cindy paused for a moment, then she said, "He lives in a hotel most of the time. He works quite far

away, and I don't want him to spend his time going back and forth to his workplace."

Gary nodded. "True. It's hard for him. You guys can't meet a lot, and every time you two meet, some

article would pop up. I guess the company doesn't want that to happen either."

Yeah. Oh, there's a topic. She talked about the time she went to see Ian at his workplace, and she

talked about the girl who went to take the role of extras because of Ian. Then, she started laughing.

"That girl is really cute. I thought she was his hater, and I was shocked when she held me. Turned out

she was a cute girl."

Gary stared at her. She seldom laughed before him, and when she started laughing so happily, Gary

smiled as well.

She noticed the look in his eyes, so she stopped talking and looked at him awkwardly. "Am I being too

talkative, Mr. Frye?"

"No. It's quite nice, really. I like it when you're being talkative," Gary said. It sounded innocent, but

Cindy stopped talking right after that. She knew it might not mean anything, but she felt uncomfortable

hearing that.

Gary asked, "So that photo… Is it actually you and Ian in it?" He was asking about the blurry photo of

them kissing beside the fountain.

Cindy nodded. There was nothing to hide. "Yes. We didn't think it through, and someone took that

photo. I'm actually embarrassed when I saw it." She wasn't a bold woman, and she only kissed in

public because it felt perfect. But when she saw the photo again, she felt embarrassed.

Gary nodded, but he said nothing. When the food was served, the conversation slowed, but it still went

on.

Cindy didn't want to talk about her and Ian, so she asked Gary about his work challenges, and if he had

ever come across a situation like hers.

Gary sighed. "Yes, when I just started working. Newbies have it hard in the workplace. Some mentors

won't teach you everything they know, and some colleagues ostracize you. I ran into a lot of obstacles

and had to explore on my own."

Cindy wouldn't be able to understand that in the past, but now she understood how he felt. "Looks like

I'm lucky to have your help." She talked to him more, and then her phone rang.

There were only a few people who could call her. It was either Ian or Aurora, so she quickly took her Original from NôvelDrama.Org.

phone out, but she realized that it was her mother instead. Cindy hesitated for a bit. She didn't want to

take the call in front of Gary, so she hung up. Her mother wasn't clingy, so she didn't call again after

Cindy hung up.

Gary said, "It's fine, you can take the call. This is just a dinner between friends. You don't have to be

that formal."

Cindy explained, "It was just a telemarketer's call. I don't want to take it."
