Chapter 2008 Fuming
So, it would make sense if Gary was displeased with her. I can see why he would be mad at me, Cindy
thought anxiously. After contemplating for a while more, she gave Ian a call. She wanted to ask Ian
how he had confronted Gary. Ian might have been angry, and he might have said some nasty words to
Gary.
As she waited for the call to get through, she let out a long sigh. It feels like these matters never come
to an end. An issue surfaces whenever another one is resolved. When the call got through, it wasn't Ian
who picked up the call. Instead, it was Ian's driver, who explained that Ian was in the midst of a shoot
and couldn't speak on the phone.
Cindy pursed her lips. "Please tell him to return my call when he has a break," she said.
"Okay," the driver replied before ending the call. After that, Cindy gripped her phone tight and returned
to her office. She no longer had the mood to work at this point. After hesitating for what felt like a long
time, she decided to draft a text message before sending it to Gary. The text told Gary that he didn't
need to apologize to her and that she was thankful for his help. After sending the text, Cindy felt even
more uneasy as Gary didn't respond even after a long while. Is he really mad at me? This whole thing
is troubling me so much. Content property of NôvelDra/ma.Org.
Both Gary and Ian didn't respond to her even until she got off work in the evening. Cindy felt like
laughing at this point. I'm starting to suspect that the two of them might have planned this all out.
Maybe they agreed to text me at the same time before disappearing completely.
In the end, Cindy had no choice but to pack up and leave. When she got home, she still felt rather
frustrated. She ended up calling Aurora—she figured that she would ask Aurora over for dinner and a
chat. However, Aurora didn't pick up her call either. Why is all of this happening today? What's up with
the three of them?
Cindy threw her phone aside before she went into the kitchen and looked around for some food. She
didn't feel like eating anything in particular, so she ended up preparing instant noodles for herself. As
she was slurping on her noodles, she placed her phone on the table and scrolled through the daily
gossip while waiting for either of the men to reply to her text.
But she didn't get anything in the end. Both of them didn't respond to her at all. She was fine if Gary
didn't reply because she understood if he was angry and didn't wish to speak to her. However, she
didn't know what was up with Ian. After eating her noodles, she caved in and decided to call Ian once
more.
Ian's response wasn't much different from Aurora's—both of them didn't pick up their calls. Cindy let out
a proper laugh this time. This is great. Did they all team up to ignore me? I can't believe it. Cindy gave
Ian's driver another call, and—as per her expectations—he didn't pick the call up. She clutched her
phone and nodded while talking to herself. "Fine, fine. You guys sure are good at this. I dare you guys
never to contact me again."
Then, Cindy returned to her room and washed up before going to bed. She couldn't sleep well the
entire night, as she had gone to bed angry. Fortunately, she had a dream that allowed her to release
some of her frustration—she dreamt about giving Ian a nice beating.
In her dream, she asked Ian what he had told Gary, and Ian responded in a haughty tone while telling
her that he had told Gary to f*ck off and stay away from Cindy. Cindy was furious to hear this. How
could he say that? Gary was such a great help to me. Of course he'd be mad to hear Ian say this, she
thought in her dream.
After that, she asked Ian why he didn't pick up her phone call, and he replied in a firm and confident
tone, "I went on a date with Yulia."
Cindy lost it at that point. She didn't hold herself back in her dream—she beat him as if she wanted him
dead. Although the dream had managed to resolve some of her anger, Cindy was worn out by the next
morning. Her limbs felt sore, as if she had actually punched someone the night before.
When she woke up, the first thing she did was check her phone. However, her notifications looked the
same as they did yesterday. She hadn't received anything at all.
