Cindy stared at Ian. "What happened? How did you get admitted into the hospital?"
Ian was sitting on the hospital bed, but he looked pretty much like his usual self. He was shocked when
he first saw Cindy, but he realized that he also felt rather glad to see her in front of him. He reached his
hand over to hold Cindy's before pulling her closer to him. "I suffered a minor injury, but we're still in the
process of monitoring it. Things should be fine."
Cindy glared at him with a grumpy expression. "Where did you injure yourself?"
The driver let out a sigh from beside them. "He hit his head. Fortunately, the doctors say that it's no big
deal. He might have had a concussion, but he'll be discharged from the hospital in a few days as long
as everything's fine. I thought you wouldn't find out about anything if we just cut contact with you for two
days, but it seems like you caught our lie on the first day itself."
Cindy kept quiet as the driver spoke. Even if she had received Aurora's message, she would've still
been suspicious as she didn't receive a single text from Ian.
The Ian she knew would definitely use someone else's phone to contact her even if his phone had
been damaged. It was impossible for him to disappear just like that.
"Where did you hit your head?" Cindy asked Ian in a gentler tone. He raised her hand and put it on the
back of his head. She was shocked when she felt the huge bump that had formed on his head.
After freezing for a moment, Cindy quickly reached for Ian's hair to take a better look at the injury. "How
did you end up with such a huge bump? What happened?"
"The production crew's props fell down and struck me in the head," Ian explained. He had blacked out,
and the people around him had sent him to the hospital immediately.
The hospital did their standard checkup for Ian, but they found no issues with him. He was okay, but
the doctors still suggested for Ian to stay at the hospital for a few days just to be sure.
Ian got injured because of his work, so the production team agreed to pause their shootings until he got
better. Cindy pulled a chair over to sit beside Ian as she spoke. "You gave me the shock of my life. I
started calling you yesterday, but you didn't respond at all. I was so afraid."
The driver hastily spoke up on behalf of Ian. "His phone was crushed by the props. It was ringing even
though the screen was black at first, so I think you might have called him then. However, the call
couldn't be picked up, and I think his phone just completely shut down in the end."
Cindy clutched Ian's hand—she felt a little safer now that she was able to hold him. Even Aurora let out
a sigh. "Since you know about this, I guess I can go home now. I wasn't able to go home before this as
I thought we had to hide this from you." Aurora held her phone up as she continued. "I can finally turn
my phone on."
Cindy shot her an exasperated look. "You guys shouldn't have hid this from me. I should have been the
first to know," she uttered.
"I was the one who suggested not to let you know about this. You just started your work, so I was
worried that this might impact you. I wanted you to focus on your work without being distracted," Aurora
uttered.
Cindy knew that Aurora was doing it for her own good, but she simply didn't appreciate what Aurora
had done. Since Cindy had come over, Aurora and Ian's driver figured that they would allow them some
time together. So, both of them found excuses to exit the room, leaving Cindy and Ian alone in the
ward.
Cindy frowned once more. "How could you keep this huge thing a secret? Are you trying to make me
lose my mind?" Cindy felt too embarrassed to scold him in front of others, as she didn't want Aurora
and Ian's driver to get the wrong idea. Now that they had left, she could finally show her true colors.
Ian smirked. "I knew you were going to scold me for this. I told them that it was fine to inform you about
this and that you'd get mad at me if I didn't tell you about it. But they didn't believe me. I wish they could
see the look on your face right now." He chuckled.
Cindy continued to frown at him. "How dare you laugh at a time like this? I feel like raging just at the
thought of you."
