Chapter 2015

Chapter 2015 Driver

Cindy didn't bring a change of clothes. Otherwise, she would've spent the night with him. Ian leaned

against the headboard and scrolled through his phone while Cindy sat on the edge of his bed. All of a

sudden, she turned to look at him as she recalled something. "By the way, I saw that Valerie came over

in the afternoon. What was she doing here?"

Valerie was the famous actress who was working with Ian—she had both the looks and the talent.

When Valerie arrived earlier, she greeted Cindy as Cindy was leaving. Ian was aware of that, so he

wasn't surprised when Cindy brought it up. "Both of us were in the same scene when I got injured. I

was a little unluckier, but she was completely safe. I guess she came to visit me as a kind gesture."

Cindy didn't suspect anything and merely nodded. "After seeing her in person today, I realized that she

looks better in person."

He smiled. "Is that so? I didn't realize anything. She looks the same as usual."

She pursed her lips. "Don't you think she looked especially pretty today?" Cindy had seen many of

Valerie's red carpet outfits in the past—she was often dressed in an elegant and classy manner.

However, Cindy preferred it when she was dressed in a more natural, daily look. It was more pleasing Belonging © NôvelDram/a.Org.

to see her dressed in casual and simple outfits.

However, a man's aesthetic judgments may differ from a woman's. Ian considered Cindy's words for a

moment. When Valerie arrived earlier, she looked the same as she usually did, so he didn't pay any

particular attention to her dressing. "I guess she's okay. She's still her, regardless of how she dresses,

right? She's not extremely pretty and not extremely ugly, I guess," he muttered.

Cindy found herself speechless upon hearing this man's judgment of a woman's beauty. When it was

about time to leave, Cindy stood up and packed her bags. Ian's driver still hadn't returned, perhaps

because he thought he would give the couple more space and time to do whatever they wanted to.

Ian held Cindy's hand. "Why don't you stay here tonight?"

Cindy shook her head before speaking in a rather hesitant tone. "I didn't bring any of my items, so it

would be rather troublesome for me to stay. Why don't you get the driver to stay the night? If you want

companionship, I'll come tomorrow, okay?"

Ian pressed his lips together to form a rather dejected look on his face. "Okay, then. Text me when

you're home."

Cindy was reluctant to leave him. She took two steps away from him before pausing and turning

around. Then, she leaned in to give him a peck on the cheek. Ian held onto the back of Cindy's head as

he raised his head to give her a firm kiss on the lips. No matter how much she didn't want to leave him,

she still had to go after the kiss was over. She raised her hand to pat him on the shoulder. "I'll come

over to visit you tomorrow. Don't you dare fool around with women in the hospital, okay?"

Ian let out a hearty laugh. "Do I look like I can do anything in this state?"

She let out a playful scoff before turning around to leave. To her surprise, a car drove up to her and

pulled over the moment she walked out of the hospital. At first, she was a little surprised, but when she

took a good look at the car, she realized that it was Gary. He had been waiting outside the hospital.

"Get in." Gary repeated the same words to Cindy. This time, Cindy didn't bother to even contemplate

his words and just got in. "What are you doing here, Mr. Frye? Do you need anything?"

Gary didn't answer her and simply drove off. It wasn't as if Cindy was asking about some huge secret,

so she felt rather awkward since he had completely ignored her question. The atmosphere in the car

was rather odd.

Gary drove all the way back to Cindy's residential area, where he dropped her off at the entrance. After

Cindy got out of the car, she couldn't help but look left and right to check if there was anyone secretly

taking pictures of her. However, there wasn't a single soul at this hour—even the vendors outside her

residential area were gone.

Gary noticed the way Cindy was acting, and he was aware of her concerns. His eyes glinted as he

swallowed the words that he had intended to say. "Alright. Go on in. I'll leave now."

He drove off right after that, and Cindy let out a long sigh after he left. I didn't even get to thank him

before he disappeared. Once she got home, she showered before lying in bed and flipping through

some recipes.
