Chapter 2080 Cash Cow

"Yes, yes. I know that. You never have to worry about it," Ian replied with a nod.

Cindy suddenly thought of something at that moment. "Hey, didn't you say that you will transfer all your

money to me? Come here! I want to see how huge of an amount that I will be responsible for."

He let out a smile at that, after which he whipped his phone out after sitting next to her. "Alright, alright.

I'll transfer some of these liquid assets to you."

She had only mentioned it as a joke, but even though she didn't think he would really transfer his own

money under her name, she still leaned over to look at what he was doing on his phone.

After noticing that he had a few bank cards that he used, she glanced over at the amount in which all

the cards had before her eyes widened so much they looked as though they were about to fall out of

their sockets.

She had a look of disbelief as she smacked her lips and exclaimed, "So, this is why people say that

celebrities earn big bucks. You have only signed the contract with the company for such a short time,

yet you have made big money!"

"This is big money to you?" Ian laughed. "A huge portion of my earnings goes to the company instead.

I don't actually get a lot of it. I don't earn that much as compared to the other artists signed to the

company."

Since he had earned this much of an amount even when a portion of it went to the company, it was no

wonder why most celebrities ended up going independent instead of signing with an established

company. It was a fact that they would earn a lot more if they didn't sign with labels.

Ian already has so much money even though he says that he doesn't earn a lot, Cindy thought. The

company must earn a lot more than him, then.

She began to understand why Hannah was so eager to discuss the extension of his contract period—

he was the company's cash cow, after all.

The amount that Cindy saw Ian transferring to her was not all that he had. Other than the said cash, he Content © NôvelDrama.Org.

also had other fixed assets under his name. The inheritance he had received from Bryce, for instance,

made up a part of his wealth.

Cindy had to pat herself on her chest to calm herself down. Oh my goodness! Just how rich of a guy

did I score? she thought in bewilderment.

She hadn't been hit by the reality of the situation before this, but now that she was looking at the

absurd numbers showing on his phone, she couldn't help but feel as though she had ridden on Ian's

coattails.

As Ian asked for her bank account number to transfer the money to her, she quickly grabbed his hand

to stop him. "I am just joking! What is yours is mine. I'll have peace of mind if you were to keep all the

money under your accounts. I have my own money to spend!"

She hadn't even finished spending the prize money that Hannah had previously given her, and it wasn't

as though she was in need of money at the moment.

Furthermore, if Cindy was being honest, she didn't want to take any property that he earned before the

marriage. It made her feel like she had impure intentions for getting married to him.

He didn't say anything more after hearing her words. He only pulled her into an embrace and asked,

"Want to go out?"

It was already afternoon by then. She didn't understand his short question or what he wanted to do, so

she asked, "Are you going out to the company?"

"Not the company," Ian softly responded as he planted a gentle kiss beside her ear. "I want to go out

with you."

Cindy thought about it for a bit before eventually nodding. It might be better for them to go out too since

there wasn't much they could do at home. "Let's go, then. I'm bored from staying at home for the past

few days. I want to go for a walk outside."

Then, he lightly pinched her cheeks. "You should move and stretch your muscles a little. It is because

of your weak body that you can't go on for long when we do it."

Like how all roads lead to Rome, the conversation somehow returned to the topic from earlier.

She let out a huff and headed to the bedroom. “You might have to wait for a while. I need to change

into something nicer and wear makeup," she announced while walking.

Ian didn't seem perturbed by her words, and only idly leaned into the sofa's backrest. "No problem.

Take your time. There is no rush," he reassured her.

It was because of his words that Cindy took her time as she went on about her routine. She looked like

an entirely different person after changing her clothes and fixing her makeup and hair.

Although it took more than an hour for her to be done, he didn't seem like he had gotten impatient from

the wait at all.

He put his phone down when Cindy came out, and he joked, "That was fast! I thought I would have to

wait until the sun is down!"

Knowing that Ian was teasing her, she threw light punches on his chest and urged, "Let's go. We can

have our dinner after we walk around for a bit."

Now that they were both prepared to head out, Ian held her hand before they finally left home.

Cindy didn't have a specific place that she had in mind while they went window shopping. On top of not

having anything that she wanted to buy, she was also someone who didn't particularly enjoy shopping

to begin with.

She had only wanted to come out for a stroll with Ian, but he had suggested the outing with a purpose

in mind instead. After they left home, he brought her straight to a shopping mall downtown where he

dragged her along to a jewelry store.
