The Supreme Man: Took Everything in Power

Chapter 809 The Wrong Call

Chapter 809 The Wrong Call

Wendell nodded. "If we continue to support Mr. Nicholson, the Black Fist Gang may still survive, but if we choose to side with Jarett Cole, we are likely going to be left with nothing. Do you seriously think Jarett Cole is going to be a match for Mr. Nicholson?" He then leaned closer to Baron and whispered in his ear. "Moreover, have you forgotten about what happened at the Underworld Force Meeting? Those soldiers, who were heavily armed, all followed Mr. Nicholson's orders!"

Baron's forehead was immediately covered in sweat as soon as he heard Wendell's words. After all, he had witnessed what happened back then with his own eyes at the Underworld Force Meeting, in which the leaders of Special Forces saluted Kingsley.

Slap! Baron spanked himself in the face. "After the Underworld Force Meeting, the Black Fist Gang expanded its territory like crazy, and I got so carried away with it that I almost forgot that Kingsley has a military background."

Baron then looked at Wendell with a complicated expression. "Wendell, thank god that you reminded me of that incident, or I would have made a huge mistake in a fit of pique."

"Your confusion blinded you from seeing the bigger picture." Wendell chuckled and added, "Look at Advisor Shane and Mr. White. While the former was Cole Gang's top strategist, the latter was Nightfall Gang's capable leader, who was also indirectly affiliated with Cole Gang. They are not fools, yet they betrayed Jarett Cole and followed Mr. Nicholson instead. Isn't that obvious enough to you?" Before Baron could answer, Wendell continued to say, "This means that they are better off being Mr. Nicholson's subordinates than being bosses for themselves!"

Baron's lips twitched. "You're right. The reason Kenny left Cole Gang was because he wanted to become a boss himself, but in the end, he became Kingsley's subordinate instead. This really says a lot…" He shuddered at the thought of what the others did, feeling grateful that he didn't make the wrong decision as he almost gave in to his impulse due to his henchmen's reaction. If Wendell

hadn't talked some sense into my head, I would have brought up my dissatisfaction with Kingsley. If I did that, the Black Fist Gang's future and fate would be doomed.

Soon, Baron wiped the cold sweat off his forehead and said, "Let's go, Wendell. Let's head downstairs and see if everything is in order. Mr. Stewart is going to be here anytime by now, and we have to make sure everything is taken care of." Baron hurried downstairs with Wendell while talking to him. Content held by NôvelDrama.Org.

Greed for power was rather common among humans, which was why there was barely anyone who'd be willing to settle as someone else's subordinate. After all, that desire was a part of human nature, and Baron was no exception. Furthermore, he was a man who was ambitious and hungry for power. Nevertheless, he had no choice but to give up his ambitions after realizing how much inferior he was when comparing himself to Kingsley.

Upon arrival at the underground boxing ring, Baron personally directed his subordinates by having them on standby in each different corner, in order to make sure his men could secure the entire level. Despite his careful planning, Baron doubted it was enough to stop the Stewart Family from making a move against them, but nonetheless, he was still determined to make sure everything was in place.

Not only was he doing that to intimidate the Stewart Family, but more importantly, he was also trying to show Kingsley how serious he was about the matter because he deemed that it was important to show a good attitude.

In that instant, Baron immediately thought of a scenario in which employees would pretend to look their best at work when a superior inspected the workplace. In fact, when that happened, they would even look like they were welcoming them with banners held above their heads. Why is that so? It's to show that they value the superior's visit! Baron thought to himself, believing Kingsley would think highly of him as long as he showed him respect.

When it reached ten in the morning, Wendell glanced at his watch and gazed at Baron. "Boss, I thought Mr. Nicholson said the Stewarts would arrive any time before noon, right? It's about time now, isn't it?"
