Chapter 713
Melante had a good sleep. She was worried about catching a cold, so she made sure to take a hot water bath last night. When she left the hotel room the next day, she called Yvonne and told her about Hugh’s injury.
Yvonne did not say much and only complained about Hugh being an idiot.
Melanie recalled Hugh was a postgraduate student at Jepton University. If he was an idiot, what about everyone else?
However, she did not retort to Yvonne's words. Instead, she said, “He might not be able to move freely at the moment. He'll return to Jepton after he recovers.”
Yvonne did not care about that. “I don’t care when he'll be back. | want to know
when you'll be back.
“Xander said Viola has been asked to return to Jepton. You should be coming back soon, right?” Melanie said, “I haven’t been informed yet.”
“No matter what, Viola is getting what she deserves. She'll pay for what she has done. How could anyone be vicious enough to instigate others into removing a patient's oxygen mask...”
Yvonne muttered, and Melanie listened as she walked.
Today was the last day of the conference. A closing ceremony would be held.
She had been in Oskon City for quite some time. The conference and the Redwaves ‘ tender took quite some time to handle. Melanie encountered Yvette and Nicole.
Nicole looked like she came to drop Yvette off. When she saw Melanie, she nodded with a smile.
Nicole was thinner than the last time Melanie met her. Her clothes looked baggy on her.
“Good morning. Today is the last day. Why am | already starting to miss this place?” Yvette greeted her, and Melanie retracted her gaze from Nicole.
She asked Yvette, “Why is your friend so thin?”
“Nicole? | know, right? | told her about it, but she said it’s just my imagination.*. Yvette muttered as she held Melanie’s arm. Then, she sighed. “Maybe because she’s so obsessed with her love life. Even if I’m her best friend, | can’t do anything about it.” Yvette disliked talking about Matthew. She skipped the topic when it was about
him.
It was the last day, and everyone was excited. Even the special guests and. investors were here.
Eugene arrived a little later than Melanie. Just like the first day, he entered with a group of people.
He wore a red tie, looking a little more casual than usual.
Yvette sighed and whispered, “Eugene might be a fool, but he’s handsome.”
Melanie was taken aback and looked at him. A wine—-red necktie would make any other man look old-fashioned, but it looked good on Eugene.
Yvette was right. Eugene did have good looks.
Viola did not show up at the conference. The rumors of her being called by the police spread. All content © N/.ôvel/Dr/ama.Org.
Even Fuller knew about it and came asking.
No one knew who spread the rumors. They only knew Viola and Melanie were once colleagues in LeapCo.
They dared not ask Eugene and came looking for Melanie instead.
Melanie brushed all of them off. It would be worse if they knew about the other relationship she and Viola shared.
Moreover, these people were outsiders.
At the same time, Viola was standing outside a company. It was Matthew's company, and she had only been here once.
She needed Matthew’s help...
