Three Year To Love (Emma Johnson and Ethan Carter)

Chapter 74

"Then I'll trouble Mr. Carter."

Emma Johnson didn't refuse this time.

The two of them sat in silence, and the atmosphere seemed a little awkward. "Don't come home so late, it's not safe." Ethan Carter broke the silence with a note of concern.

"Thanks Mr. Carter, I'll be careful."

Emma's tone was distant and polite, she didn't even want to give him a look, Ethan felt like he was making a fool out of himself, so he didn't say anything else. He couldn't help wanting to care about this woman, but he felt an invisible distance. The car pulled up at the bottom of Emma's apartment building, "Mr. Carter, I'm going home now." She looked at Ethan lightly, her tone calm.

Ethan nodded gently, opening the door for Emma in a gentlemanly manner.

"Ah."

She slipped as she stepped out of the car, suddenly falling forward, and Ethan was quick to scoop her up in his arms.

Emma closed her eyes tightly, her mind going blank, but she didn't fall to the ground. She slowly opened her eyes and saw Ethan's cold face, and her heart skipped a beat.

"Had enough?" Ethan raised his eyebrows, a playful smile on his face.

Emma instantly blushed, hastily withdrew her eyes, and pulled out from his embrace. She gritted her teeth with some chagrin, she was more willing to have a close contact with the earth than to be held by Ethan!

She glanced at Ethan with slight disdain, and left without looking back. Looking at her far away back, Ethan's cold face actually surfaced a smile.

He watched Emma disappear from sight, sat back in the car again, and didn't leave until he saw the lights on in her apartment.

Ethan had just gotten home and was about to head to his study to take care of some work when there was a sharp knock on the door. He frowns in displeasure and opens the door to find Olivia Brooks sitting on the floor with a bottle of wine in her hand, reeking of alcohol. "Ethan, you finally opened the door!"

Olivia struggles to get up from the floor and flings herself into Ethan's arms, the odor of alcohol filling her nostrils at once.

"Why are you so drunk." As Ethan helped her into the house and poured her some water, Olivia suddenly hugged him from behind.

"Ethan, I'm really scared that you'll leave me, I don't feel safe at all, why don't you give me a child, with a child we'll have a bond, no one can separate us."

She hugged Ethan tightly, her voice choked with sobs, her tone was full of pleas, Emma's existence and Ethan's attitude made her feel extremely uneasy, only through a child could she feel at ease. She didn't realize how foolish it was to think that a child could hold a man captive.

"You're drunk, calm down." Ethan blushed and broke away from Olivia's embrace, a move that completely irritated her.

Olivia tore at her clothes with reckless abandon, her garments in disarray, and moved closer to Ethan, pressing herself into his arms once more.

Ethan, as a normal man, does not react to Olivia's repeated advances.
