True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz)

Chapter 2013

Chapter 2013

Gary really couldn't hold it in any longer. He wanted to say something and make Janice regret her choice of words. But then, he knew he shouldn't do anything to make Celeste even angrier with him. He was already at fault in this.

Once again, he swallowed back those words and fell silent.

Celeste said over the phone, "How are you so sure about this when you don't have anything left to bargain with? Could it be that you still think you can hold something against us?"

"Gary made a promise with me," Janice said, "Gary promised to be my boyfriend in two months time."

Celeste's only response was a twitch of her lips, as though she was not at all affected by this.

She believed that Gary only made this promise with Janice because of Lowell.

"If he promised to be your boyfriend, why does he have to wait until two months later?" Celeste questioned sharply.

"That's because he needs to settle things with you first! Celeste, you should just leave him right now if you don't want to embarrass yourself," Janice threatened.

Celeste sneered, "That shows exactly how much he cares about me."

"Stop saying nonsense. Even if he cares for you, he still slept with me. You don't even know how amazing he was that night," Janice didn't bother to sugarcoat her words.

Celeste felt a jab in her heart.

Her face turned pale as it was drained of colour.

Gary's temples throbbed and he raised a brow. His gaze turned sharp and icy at the thought of Janice. He wanted no more but to tear Janice apart.

In fact, he had no recollection of what happened that night. He didn't even remember sleeping with Janice.

He could only remember waking up to Janice lying beside him barely dressed. She even looked at him as if he really did something to her.

At that time, Gary was furious, only to have Janice tell him to forget about them sleeping together entirely.

Until now, Gary still didn't believe that anything happened between them.

He believed he was too drunk to do anything.

Thus, Gary found it necessary to investigate this matter. He refused to let anyone frame him and his chastity.

Celeste calmed down and said, "Tell me the details then. Just how amazing was he that night?"

"Celeste!" Gary tried to lower his volume. He was worried to see Celeste like this. Furthermore, he felt humiliated.

He was really uneasy to hear her talking to Janice about this.

It was as if he was sitting on pins and needles.

He had never felt so shameful in his life. Now, he felt as though he wanted to find a hole and bury himself in the ground.

Janice sneered, "I don't want you to collapse after I tell you the details. It will only drive you crazy."

"You're right. I'd go crazy because of my jealousy to hear that, but then again, no one knows if you're telling the truth or if you're just making up a story," Celeste narrowed her eyes.

Her intuition told her that Janice would definitely have bragged about this earlier if it really happened.

However, Janice had never bothered to bring up the details at all.Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.

This didn't make sense.

Similarly, Gary was frowning hard.

Usually, he would run out of patience to listen to women talking. However, he was left with no choice but to continue listening to the entire conversation.

"Celeste, I think you are really out of your mind."

Janice's slightly breathless voice came from the other side of the phone. It sounded like she was a little agitated.

Celeste had a feeling that there was more to this incident than meets the eye. It was possible that Janice was acting like this because she was trying to hide something.

"I will never let you know the details of that night!" Janice suddenly exclaimed.

"Then I'll just assume that it didn't happen at all," Celeste sounded confident and indifferent.

Gary's eyes flickered for a moment before he took a closer look at Celeste.

He admired the fact that Celeste was still able to keep a clear mind to think things through at this point.

It wasn't because Celeste was trying to pry. She was just trying to get an answer from Janice.

Now that he thought about it clearly, it made sense.

He was too drunk to feel horny anyway.

Although he still couldn't recall a thing, Gary still believed that he wasn't as desperate as to do it while drunk.

"How could I have gotten pregnant then if that didn't happen?" Janice questioned. Her breathing grew quicker as well as she insisted, "And for me to be pregnant with Gary's child nheless."

"I see you still refuse to talk about what happened that night in detail. That only shows that you didn't even sleep with Gary that night. With how advanced technology is today, it's not that hard to get pregnant with his child even without sleeping together," Celeste deduced calmly. Something flashed across Gary's eyes.

He thought of something and could only stare blankly at Celeste.

Celeste turned around and met his gaze.

The moment their eyes met, she could see a glint of hope, admiration, and a deep touch of emotion in his eyes.

She then shot him a weak but comforting smile.

Despite her heart breaking into pieces, Celeste still wanted to learn more about this whole incident before ending things with Gary. Gary fell silent.

He had already seen through Celeste's intentions. He could only let Celeste carry on with the conversation if they wanted to know more from Janice.

He might be able to get something by combining Janice's words with Yandrea's investigation as well as the hacker's findings. Maybe they would find some hidden traces and clues.

If Celeste could go all out in learning about this, he had no excuse to stay out of this.

With that, Gary calmed himself down.

He had to look at this matter from an outsider's perspective.

That would make things simpler.

First and foremost, he was too drunk that night to sleep with another woman.

Second, even if the DNA results showed that the baby was his, there was still a possibility that Janice achieved this through other means than sleeping with him.

Of course, this could just be his wishful thinking. But what if it was really that case?

Gary finally got a better view of this.

He thought about it again and analyzed everything according to this logic. There were indeed some fishy aspects about it.

On the other end of the phone, Janice fell silent too.

She had not said anything for a long while. It was as if she was thinking about what to say next.

They could still hear her rapid and heavy breathing.

"Celeste White, I'm amazed at the fact that you want to know the details of your man sleeping with another woman," Janice finally remarked sarcastically.

Celeste disagreed, "It's nothing when compared to you. Even if you refuse to tell us, I'm sure the truth will be revealed someday. I don't think that the truth can be hidden forever."

"Why are you trying so hard to find fault in this? Celeste, you have great imagination, don't you? You're reading too much into this. We slept together, that's all there is to know," Janice scoffed.

"I don't deny that I'm reading too much into this, but you will still have to prove what you said is the truth, won't you?" Celeste wasn't backing away either, "I can tell that you are bluffing. That's why you refuse to talk more about it." "You are the one who's lying!" Janice shouted. "Why are you reacting like this if you aren't bluffing? Your voice even cracked," Celeste was still keeping her cool and continued, "We will find evidence to disprove your claims. soon, Janice. My advice for you is to be traced back to you. Otherwise, if we manage to catch you by the tail, you will only be humiliating yourself."

hide anything that canim

"You b*tch, how dare you say that to me?" Janice was hysterical, "Gary likes me, otherwise he wouldn't have been so sweet to me when we were in Scotland. We also had a great time in Boston. If it wasn't for the mess you made in Scotland, I'm sure Gary and I would only have gotten closer."

"Let me tell you something, you shouldn't trust a word men say. They're all lies."

"He wouldn't tolerate me time and again if he didn't feel anything for me. In fact, he wouldn't even give me the chance to be close with him if that was the case. This shows that he's asking for it too."

"Celeste, my advice for you is to know your place and don't humiliate yourself when you still have the chance to stay away."

"At least I wouldn't have any regrets doing so," Celeste chuckled, "I know what to do and what not to do."

"It seems to me that you don't love Gary that much either. I love him more than you do," Janice then exclaimed quickly.

That sentence seemed to hit Celeste right in the heart. She trembled a little and her face turned pale.

Meanwhile, Gary could no longer hold back.

He shouted at the phone, "Janice, that's enough!"

"Gary!" Janice gasped, "Celeste you b*tch, how dare you set me up?"

"I didn't mean to do that," Celeste clarified, "I'm not interested in setting you up."

"B*tch, you're still denying it!" Janice yelled.

"Enough!" Gary roared out of anger, "Janice Simpson, you're the b*tch here. Let me make this clear, I will never be your boyfriend. You can just forget

about this. Don't you dare make any moves again, or I'll make sure you regret it."
