True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz)

Chapter 2031

Chapter 2031

Upon seeing Celeste's smile, Lowell immediately relaxed slightly. From his perspective, Celeste was still beaming widely, so there was no way she could've found out about the unfortunate incident.

Lowell secretly prayed that Celeste would always be happy and full of smiles. He didn't want anything terrible to happen to ever take that smile away from her face.

Unlike Lowell who naively assumed that Celeste wasn't affected by anything and was probably celebrating secretly, Gary, on the other hand, could only flash a tense smile towards Celeste.

His handsome face was gloomy. However, since they were in front of Lowell, Celeste still managed to stay pretty calm and composed.

Gary initially thought that upon seeing Lowell, Celeste would feel slightly uneasy. Yet, Celeste was not even fazed. Instead, she looked quite natural and normal.

She was so calm and collected as if everything that happened, never happened. Her ability to keep her cool was simply too much. Even Gary could not help but sigh.

He narrowed his eyes and joined in on the act, cooperating with Celeste to his best ability.

Since he was able to see through Celeste's pain, he had chosen to act along with Celeste.

This was worth it if it could make Celeste feel slightly better.

Gary readjusted himself and walked towards Celeste with a gentle smile. At that moment, something flashed across his eyes. It seemed he had underestimated how strong Celeste was.

He had always thought that Celeste was weak. He never knew that Celeste possessed this much strength in her.

Gary moved a step ahead of Lowell and walked towards Celeste. Then, he gazed upon Celeste and took her into his embrace, all while maintaining a polite but natural smile.

He asked gently, "Why were you walking alone? It's so cold. You should've asked me to walk with you."

After being pulled into Gary's embrace, Celeste stiffened. However, her expression did not change. On the contrary, she burst into laughter.

"It's alright. It's not that cold, and it was nice taking a stroll while enjoying the scenery," Celeste freed herself from his embrace silently and flashed a bright grin at Lowell, "Your conversation with Gary was rather quick."

"Well, there's nothing much to talk about with him. I was just checking up on him since it's been quite some time since we last saw each other," Lowell immediately chuckled, "I'm glad to see that the two of you are doing well."

"We are indeed, aren't we, Gary?" Celeste immediately looked into Gary's eyes.

Her eyes were deep and a faint smile was hanging on her lips. However, the emotion in her eyes was somewhat unfathomable.

Celeste started to get a little flustered as she continued to stare at Gary. They had a mutual tacit understanding.

This was what they had to do as they didn't want others to worry about what had happened between them.

Celeste thought that since they were both adults, they had to act maturely in the event of a breakup.

"That's true," Gary just nodded simply. From the tone of his voice, it was like he had agreed to what Celeste had said.

At the very least, he looked like he was spoiling his girlfriend dearly.

They looked very loving.

Though, it was just superficial.

Gary was pretty sure that his performance with Celeste was quite impeccable.

Sure enough, after hearing that, Lowell immediately beamed widely. He seemed quite relieved to see how the couple was doing.

He didn't pick up on anything at all.

"You guys are doing fine," Lowell sighed in relief, "Seeing the two of you getting along have really made me feel relieved. I'm ready to head to the villa down the mountain. When are you guys going back?"

"In a few days."NôvelDrama.Org: owner of this content.

"Tonight."

Celeste and Gary said two different things at the same time, with Celeste saying the former while Gary saying the later.

It was obvious that the chemistry between the two of them was gone.

Lowell was also slightly stunned and looked at them in surprise.

His eyes then shifted to Gary, suspicion brewing in his gaze. Why were their opinions on returning to the Jones family residence so different? Once again, Lowell observed the couple in front of him again. Gary had a lazy smile plastered on his

face.

Meanwhile, Celeste was obviously looking stiff and uncomfortable.

Lowell frowned.

Gary said nothing, his smile still

natural and nonchalant. He looked at

el

Celeste as a glint flashed through his eyes, Celeste, we've been out for quite a few days now. Mom is probably quite worried about us, so I think we should head back today. What do you think?"

Celeste had some reservations. Previously, she had told Gary on the boat that they would stay on the mountain for a few days as she needed to sort out her emotions.

Gary had even agreed to it back then.

Only a few hours had passed but Gary had already changed his mind. Now, he was going back on his words in front of Lowell.

Since he had raised this suggestion in front of Lowell, Celeste had no way to refute Gary. Hence, she could only agree and nodded, "Alright. We have been out for a few days now, so we should head back."

"You're indeed sensible," Gary reached out and wrapped his hand around Celeste's shoulder, putting his affection on public display.

Celeste was also smiling, but her body was as

rigid as a stone. However, she still had a smile on.

Upon seeing this, Lowell's suspicion gradually decreased as well.

He looked at Gary and nodded before suggesting, "Let's head back together then. I'm going down the mountain as well, so why not you two come along?"

Gary scoffed, "What are you trying to do, huh? We will head back tonight ourselves. Are you trying to be a third wheel?"

Lowell was stunned and quickly

picked on. Then, he nodded furiously as he agreed, "Alright, fine. I'll head back first. You're right. Silly me,

forgot that I would be int

in

your relationship. Enjoy your time together. Bye."

With that, he hurriedly left after saying so.

Celeste and Gary saw him off until his car was nowhere to be seen.

A while later, Gary tilted his head to glance at Celeste.

Celeste didn't even bother looking at him as she immediately pried his arm off and turned back towards the villa.

Gary looked at Celeste's slightly annoyed figure. A bitter smile arose on his face.

She could be angry.

After all, it seemed like nothing was going according to Celeste's plan.

As Celeste entered the villa and prepared to head upstairs, she stopped in her tracks.

As long as they were here in the villa, an awkward silence would fill the air wherever they were.

Gary and her would never see eye-to-eye.

Celeste couldn't go on like this. She could ignore him when they were alone, but once someone was here, they had to feign intimacy.

She was sure that she would go crazy if this had to go on.

Meanwhile, Gary walked in. Seeing Celeste standing in the hall in a daze, he cleared his throat, "If you're not prepared to stay calm in front of everyone, you can always choose to stay."

"Of course I'm prepared," Celeste turned around and looked into Gary's deep and complicated eyes, "Did you intentionally force me to return to the Jones family house tonight?"

Gary chuckled dryly. Celeste was pretty smart since she was spot-on.

Yes, he did it on purpose.

He wanted Celeste to return to the Jones family house with him so she could continue acting intimately with him in front of everyone. Maybe he was so used to having Celeste by his side that he could no longer bear having her away from him.

Gary couldn't help but look down on himself. Never could he have imagined using this underhanded tactic on a girl he loved deeply.

Now, he chose to remain silent.

Celeste's eyebrows were knitted together. Suddenly, she felt awkward asking such a question since it seemed that she was just ranting. She could only smirk, "Forget it. I'm just getting ahead of myself. It's fine, we can go back tonight."

She decided to rest for the remainder of her time there in the villa.

Celeste knew that she needed peace, quiet and time to rehearse possible situations that could take place later. She couldn't allow Aunt Smith and Uncle Jones to see through what had happened between her and Gary.

Grace was pregnant and that was already hard enough. Celeste decided that she couldn't let her own problems agitate Grace's health.
