Chapter 2041
Chapter 2041
She couldn't stand Heinz's excuse for her son and men. In her opinion, this was a horrible habit for men to have.
There was nothing a man couldn't refuse if he wanted to. Everything else was plain excuses.
Whatever it was, she was focused on this matter. She felt like Gary was at fault here. All rights © NôvelDrama.Org.
"Enough of this useless talk. What's the point of saying so much? Are you saying that a smart man like Gary can't refuse a woman? He should be a eunuch then!"
Grace grumpily complained to her husband.
Heinz was stunned into silence at Grace's outburst, and he knew that she was truly angered. Then, he smiled and said, "Well, being a eunuch is one way to be free of a woman."
Grace casted him a look that commanded him to stop.
Nevertheless, Heinz persisted. "If our son becomes one, what of our grandchildren?"
"Well, Ernest and Sebastian won't do such despicable things, will they?" Grace felt that if all three of her sons were like Gary, her effort of birthing them would be wasted.
If this was the case, perhaps she should just die.
Heinz burst into laughter. "My dear wife, I know that you're disappointed in Gary and you're mad that he didn't handle this well. However, he's also a victim in this."
"Is he now?" Grace retorted angrily, "Why can't I see it?"
Heinz said, "After all, he did have too much to drink."
"Is being drunk an excuse?" Grace retorted.
Heinz smiled helplessly at Grace. "Well, no. But it's not something we can control after we are drunk, just like how we were before."
Grace was rendered speechless when Heinz brought up the incident at Alpine Resort.
At the time, she had thought that Heinz was Simon.
As she thought more about this, she realized that she and Heinz's relationship began in almost the same way.
Grace pursed her lips, her expression gloomy.
Heinz immediately comforted her. "Furthermore, Gary also said that he didn't touch Janice. I believe that it would be very hard for Gary to be with a woman when he's blackout drunk." "You did it with me, didn't you?" Grace glanced at him and said, "I think Gary handled this very poorly. He should just admit it if he's already done it instead of denying it. Is he even a man?"
"Well, he is a man on his ID, and he's always identified as a man all these years," Heinz deadpanned.
"Well, he sure isn't acting like one." Grace snorted in disgust, "If you keep helping Gary, Celeste will really break up with him. It looks like Celeste is really hurt this time around."
"I'm afraid Celeste will break up with him either way." Heinz said, "It's not about whether I'm helping Gary or not - the most important thing is that Celeste can't get over it."
"Don't say that about Celeste." Grace felt bad hearing Heinz talking about Celeste like that. As a woman, she understood how much pain Celeste must be in.
"Fine, let's not talk about it anymore." Heinz sighed. "However, it's not like the problem stops being a problem the moment I stop talking about it. We can't decide for them, they need to choose forthemselves."
Grace frowned and said, "Since you already know about this, hurry up and investigate what happened with Janice. We must not allow this woman to harm us anymore."
"I've already arranged for Lester to investigate this matter. Gary doesn't know that I know, so you have to keep calm in front of the children. Don't let them feel like something's wrong. If they want to keep this from us, then let's pretend like we don't know about it."
Grace nodded. "Okay, got it."
Celeste was in so much pain, yet she insisted on hiding it from them. If Grace revealed that she knew about this, she was afraid that it would only speed up Gary and Celeste's breakup.
Thus, it was better to pretend that she knew nothing and let nature take its course. Perhaps this would help them through this difficult time and to smooth things over.
She firmly believed that some problems needed time to be solved.
They might lose their shot at reconciliation if they parted ways.
And that was the situational development she wanted to avoid.
Heinz was relieved that Grace did not rush to interfere in this issue, nor did she question Gary and Celeste.
That was the mature way of dealing with this problem.
Furthermore, Grace didn't express how bothered she was by this either.
However, Heinz still felt that he should say a word of reminder to his wife. "Darling, you should still take care of yourself. You're pregnant, so your safety is paramount."
Grace caressed her belly, and the babies moved against her touch.
She was shocked for a second before she smiled.
"They are moving," Grace said.
Heinz was taken aback as well before he reached out to touch Grace's belly. The kids seemed to react to their father's touch, and Heinz laughed happily.
"These little guys shouldn't give us as much trouble as the others, right?" Heinz chuckled.
"The children are great, actually," Grace said matter-of-factly. "They have their own strengths and flaws. After all, they're not perfect."
The two continued chatting for a
while. Grace said, "Keep an eye on Gary, Celeste and Lowell. I was wondering why Lowell had suddenly come home for New Year's, and it turned out that this was the reason. Watch out for him. He looks like trouble." "I know." Heinz said, "Rest well, darling. I'll go and talk to Lowell for a bit."
"Now that's what we call being a good brother." Grace smiled and laid down to rest.
Heinz exited the room to see Lowell. However, he did not expect to see Gary seated on the sofa in the hall.
Heinz looked at his watch. It had
been more than half an hour since he entered the room. He figured that Gary would have gone upstairs instead of sitting here. It looked like

Gary and Celeste were having a lot more problems than he initially thought.
Heinz raised an eyebrow and asked from the top of the stairs, "Why aren't you going upstairs? You're leaving Celeste alone?"
Gary's train of thought was interrupted by his father's voice, and he frowned.
He was quiet as he stood up. Then, he said, "I'm going upstairs right now."
Gary prepared to go upstairs, but Heinz didn't plan on moving.
Gary brushed past Heinz, who smiled and said, "Is something going on with you and Celeste?"
Gary's eyebrows flew into his hairline, and he gave his father a sharp glare. Was he overthinking this?
Why did Heinz keep bringing this up? Did he know something?
Gary observed his father and snorted, "What's wrong with you? Why do I feel like you're eager for something to happen between me and Celeste? Tell me, what's wrong with us?"
Heinz smiled calmly and said,
"You're being too sensitive. I'm just
worried about you. Weren't you two
inseparable before? I was just
wondering why you've been sitting here for close to an hour."
"Even so, you can't conclude that something has happened between me and Celeste just based on that, can you?" Gary retorted nonchalantly.
