True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz)

Chapter 2047

Chapter 2047

"That's right."

Celeste nodded. She was indeed living with the Jones family.

"Wow, so you've met the parents? Impressive." Florina sounded envious.

Celeste smiled as a response.

They continued drinking their milk tea.

Suddenly, whispers started to sound all around them. Just as Celeste raised her head to look around in confusion, a tall figure pulled out the chair beside her and sat down.

Celeste was dumbfounded.

Florina also took a deep breath across from her.

She stared at the newcomer with wide eyes.

Gary sat opposite her elegantly. He was not looking at Florina, but at Celeste as she was the only woman in his eyes.

"Wh-what are you doing here?" Celeste stuttered.

"You left me alone at home and ran out on your own. Of course, I'd come looking for you," he said in a particularly gentle tone. He reached out his hand and gently placed it on the back of the chair behind Celeste, looking as if he was embracing her.

Celeste's back tensed. Gary felt it and immediately started stroking her back.

It seemed that he was reminding her to relax.

It took Celeste a few seconds to calm down.

"Wow, you two really are a perfect match. You are the 'it' couple." Florina smiled as she praised them.

Gary raised his eyebrows as he glanced at Florina and asked, "Who are you?"

Florina looked slightly shocked at his question, her jaw dropping open. However, she quickly recovered and smiled. "It's no surprise that you didn't recognize me since I look very different from high school. I'm Florina Jennings."Material © of NôvelDrama.Org.

Gary suddenly remembered that this was indeed his high school classmate.

He remembered her name, but he forgot how she looked.

After all, she wasn't a significant person in his life, nor did she have anything to do with him.

However, he didn't expect Celeste to keep in touch with Florina. This was rather odd.

Gary looked back at Celeste. Did he not understand Celeste well enough?

Was there still a lot about Celeste that he did not know about?

This discovery annoyed him a little.

"No way, you're a genius. You skipped two grades, but you don't remember my name? I'm hurt." Florina sighed, but she comforted herself. "Well, I guess it's to be expected since you only care about Celeste."

"Of course I remember your name," Gary calmly replied.

After all, he didn't want to make anyone feel embarrassed.

Moreover, this woman was a friend of Celeste's, so he had to show her some respect.

He could ignore Florina, but he couldn't embarrass Celeste.

Therefore, Gary treated Florina with a bit more courtesy than he would to random strangers.

"That's really my pleasure, Mr. Gary."

Florina laughed. "When I first heard you two were together, we were not surprised because it was kind of obvious when we were still in school. However, we were surprised that you'd stayed together so long."

Florina was sincere when she said this, and she hoped they'd stay together forever.

With a raise brow, Gary asked, "What? Is it surprising that Celeste and I have been together for this long?"

Florina was taken aback by the question and smiled. "Yeah, we all thought you were a playboy. You don't seem like the type to settle for one woman.."

Her words displeased Gary and he frowned.

Florina explained with a smile, "Don't get mad. This is just everyone's first impression towards you. However, I think that the more cold and indifferent a person is, the better a lover they are, as shown by you."

Gary flashed a small smile, but was quiet.

Celeste was silent as well.

Then, Gary's phone rang. He answered it only to hear Heinz on the phone. "What's going on? Aren't we going to go change your ID today? Why did you leave the house when I came back?"

Gary frowned. "I'm out with Celeste."

"Well, Celeste is definitely important, but what about this? Are you going back on your word?" Heinz asked.

"Of course not. Give me another fifteen minutes and I'll meet you at the office. Send me the location and I'll come to you," Gary replied.

"Okay, I'll have the secretary send you the location."

Heinz then ended the call.

Celeste saw Gary put away the phone and said, "If you have something to do, just go. Florina and I will be here for a while."

"Don't worry, we still have time," Gary

said. Then, he turned to Florina and said, "Florina, I didn't want to say

anything at first, but since everyone thinks that way of me, I want to make one thing clear. If Celeste and one I break up, it's surely because she broke up with me and not the other way around."

"Ah?" Florina was stunned for a while, then burst out laughing. "Why did you mention breaking up? It's bad luck to talk about that stuff. Everyone says love is fragile, and heartbreak guts you like a fish. I don't think you two will break up. I believe in you guys."

Gary was silent. Instead, he looked at Celeste and continued, "You should be saying this to Celeste."

Florina nodded. "Of course. If you didn't come, Celeste and I would be talking about this."

Gary smiled just as he received the location.

He said, "How long will you two be here for? I'll be off to the National Registration Department for a while before I come back to pick Celeste up."

"You don't have to pick me up. I can go back on my own," Celeste replied immediately.

"How could I do that?" Gary said, tone domineering, "Wouldn't it be unsightly for me to ask my girlfriend to take a taxi back herself? Florina and the others already think I'm a playboy, so I should fix that, no?"

Celeste was shocked and she didn't know what to say. She gave him a meek smile.

Gary shot Celeste an affectionate look before he caressed her hair. "I'm going now. Wait for me to pick you up, okay?"

Celeste nodded obediently.

Only then did Gary leave.
