True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz)

Chapter 2211

Chapter 2211

Kendrix was stunned, and his face turned red. He looked at Sylvia, then averted his gaze and did not say anything, which was uncharacteristic of him. However, there was a shift in the atmosphere..

Sylvia blushed a deep red. She no longer dared to lie on her stomach any longer, so she changed to a different angle, sitting straight in front of the

camera.

When she saw Kendrix's uncomfortable expression, she felt greatly embarrassed.

She smiled awkwardly and tried to change the topic. "Are you tired?"

Kendrix cleared his throat. Without looking at Sylvia, he said, "No, I'm not tired.

As he spoke, he leaned back against his chair in a more relaxed attitude. He massaged his temples. Despite him trying to appear relaxed, it was clear that he was exhausted.

Worried about him, she asked, "How can you say you're not tired when you look like that? Don't your eyes hurt?"

Kendrix smiled and shook his head. "It doesn't hurt that much. I do feel a little tired, but I still have energy."

In spite of his reassurances, Sylvia still felt that he was already exhausted. With his temperament, he guessed that he would not admit to being tired. "Well then, go to sleep. You can continue writing your paper tomorrow."

"I have to finish this tonight," Kendrix replied. "I'll probably have to stay up for a long time."

"If you can't finish it tonight, are you going to stay up for the whole night?" Sylvia got even more worried.

"That's right. They need this research. I've already delayed this for far too long."

"But your health is more important," Sylvia protested. "Even if your job is important and gives you a strong sense of accomplishment, if you don't take good care of your body, wouldn't it all be futile?"

"Are you worrying about my health now?" Kendrix asked with a smile. His husky and charming voice was enough to make one blush.

"Of course!" Sylvia said as she tried to refrain from blushing. "Shouldn't I be worried?"

Kendrix was stunned. He had not expected her to admit to it so easily.

He looked at Sylvia calmly with a hint of a smile in his eyes. "What are you worried about?"

"Your body isn't just yours." Sylvia braced herself for what she was about to say next. "Your body is mine too."

Her domineering words made him raise his eyebrows, and his gaze deepened.

He stared at Sylvia intently for a moment, his eyes growing darker and darker.

Sylvia felt somewhat embarrassed at being stared like, however, she did not think that she had said anything wrong.

He would be hers in the future.

Him, his body, all of him. He would belong to her.

Therefore, he had to take care of himself.

"That's why I won't allow you to abuse your body like that. It's not worth overexerting yourself for work."

"But this is my job," Kendrix said.

"I know that. I never said that you aren't allowed to work. I just want you to set aside time to rest. You must take good care of yourself. Is that asking for too much?" Sylvia spoke seriously, her expressions solemn.

When Kendrix heard that, he chuckled silently, revealing his white teeth. He looked extremely

charming.

"You're right. What you said is very reasonable."

Sylvia was too embarrassed to look at Kendrix when she saw him smiling, but she would not admit it. "Since you've agreed to it, then you should not treat what I said lightly. Do as I say."

Unexpectedly, Kendrix's expression turned serious. He looked at Sylvia and asked, "Can this time be the one exception?"

Sylvia was stunned. Since Kendrix asked that, it had to mean that it was very important.

She was too embarrassed to say anything else. Even though she was worried and distressed for Kendrix, she knew that it must have been difficult for him to speak such gentle and solemn words to her.

She could only agree to Kendrix's request.

"Okay, but just this once. Don't do it again," Sylvia answered in a serious tone. "You mustn't stay up late anymore."

"Okay." Kendrix laughed as he gazed at Sylvia with a longing look. "It's really late. You should go to sleep. You shouldn't just nag at me. You need to take better care of yourself too since you're still growing."

Sylvia felt that if she continued to video call him like that, she would take up too much of his time.

So, she nodded obediently and said, "Okay, I'll go to sleep. You go ahead with your work."

"Okay." Kendrix nodded.

Sylvia glanced at Kendrix deeply, then hung up reluctantly.

After hanging up, Sylvia was still feeling a little worried. No longer feeling sleepy, she got up and went downstairs.

She went to look for the butler and ordered him to prepare several dishes for breakfast the next morning, saying that she wanted to share with her friend.

When the butler heard that, he asked her how much food she needed, but he did not ask her who it was for.

"Four portions, enough to feed two people," Sylvia replied. "Oh, by the way, a guy will have a bigger appetite."

Sylvia was not about to tell the

she

butler that the food was only for Kendrix. If her mother knew that asked the butler to send Kendrix breakfast in the morning, she would probably make fun of her again. Sylvia thought to herself.

Sylvia was not afraid of being teased. She just did not want her mother to be worried.

Sylvia felt that she needed to have a sense of propriety, and know what she should and should

not do.

That was why, she would leave early the next morning.

After making up her mind, Sylvia heaved a sigh of relief. She returned to her room, set her alarm, then forced herself to sleep.

Early the next morning, she was awakened by her alarm. The sun had not even risen yet.

Sylvia got up and went straight to the kitchen. Luckily, the workers in the kitchen were clever. They had already prepared all the food and placed it in little lunch boxes. There was enough to fill two bags full.

When they saw her, the butler immediately asked, "Miss Sylvia, do you think this is enough? We can make more if this isn't enough."

Sylvia nodded and said, "This will do. I think it'll be enough for four people."

"Miss Sylvia, may I know what this is for?" the butler asked.

"Oh, I'm going out with some friends, Mr. Trevino, and his cousin." Sylvia simply made up an excuse.

She knew that the butler would definitely pass the information to Grace. After all, the butler had his own responsibilities.

Grace was sure to ask, so it was better to say that she was going to look for both Kendrix and Claudia.

If she was more frank, her mother would be reassured.

As for going to find Claudia, it was merely an excuse.

She still did not know whether she would actually meet Claudia or not that day.

She did not actually have plans to meet Claudia. She just wanted to bring Kendrix some food.

Besides, she wanted to meet Kendrix in private before the new semester began.

"Oh, I see. If your mother happens to ask, should I tell her that?" the butler asked.

"Of course. Tell her the truth. Don't worry. I'll ask the driver to drive me." Sylvia knew that as long as she said that the driver was going, the butler would be assured.

However, it would probably be a mistake if she did not bring the driver.

And she would just make things awkward for herself.

Upon hearing that, the butler was relieved. "Okay. I'll arrange a driver for you."

"Okay. Help me bring the food to the car. I'll be going out now." "Do you have to leave at such an early hour?" Looking out at the the sky that was only just starting to brighten, he wondered why she was leaving so early.

"Don't ask so many questions. You'll make me late," Sylvia replied impatiently.

The butler was stunned. She was going to be late?Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.

The sun had not fully risen yet. How could Sylvia be late? What was she going to be late for? The butler wondered.

However, he dared not ask any more

questions, knowing that she was not someone he wanted to cross. If he offended her, she would eavesdrop on him and he would lose all his privacy. In the end, he would be the one to suffer.

He did not want himself to meet such a miserable fate, nor did he want others to think that he was being nosy.

"Right away," he replied, hurriedly helping her load the food into the car.

After a short while, everything was ready. Sylvia got into the car, and the butler watched her leave.

Before they left, the butler secretly told the driver to be careful and not let anything happen to Sylvia.

The driver was clever, and he understood at once.

However, Sylvia was even more clever. The moment she got into the car, she told the driver, "I'm going to visit Mr. Trevino at school. Claudia is Mr. Trevino's cousin. I believe you know about it too. Therefore, you don't have to keep following me. If anything happens, you can look for Kendrix, but I promise that nothing is

going to happen."

The driver was stunned. He looked toward Sylvia, his heart lurching. She seemed to know that her freedom was somewhat restricted.

He smiled and said, "I understand, Miss Sylvia."

"If you understand, then tell my mom that I went out with a few friends," Sylvia said solemnly.

The driver pursed his lips and said, "Okay, Miss Sylvia."

"You know my rules. I don't want to be followed. I won't have any sense of privacy if you do."

"I understand, Miss Sylvia." The driver nodded once more. His heart was still beating wildly.

Miss Sylvia was threatening him.

Mr. Trevino was really something else. The driver thought to himself.

They arrived at the Kendrix's apartment building at school. Sylvia got out of the car with her lunch boxes, then told the driver, "You can go now. I'll call

you when I need you."
