Chapter 179 Speak, or Else
Lewis put an end to the argument and drove in silence.
Sierra looked away in a fit of pique. She couldn’t be bothered to say anymore and didn’t want to bring the argument further. Every time they fought, they wouldn’t see each other for days.
Josephine watched as the car drove further away until it disappeared from her line of sight. Her eyelashes fluttered, and she averted her gaze.
She ultimately realized the reason he decided to block her. She wryly smiled and walked into the rain forlornly.
Suddenly, a car stopped before her.
The window rolled down, and a man’s voice teased, “Hi there, Josephine. Locked out of your
own house?”
Josephine heard his voice and froze. She abruptly looked up and saw Seth in the backseat. He wore his trademark smile. His wavy short hair was neatly combed back, and only a few strands ran wild. Under the dim light, no one could have distinguished his gender.
Josephine pressed her lips into a thin line and ignored him.
“Are you not coming in?”
Josephine continued walking, and the car followed her. “Walking around at this hour is pretty unsafe, you know?”
Josephine cast him a glance. She thought there was nowhere more unsafe than beside him.
Josephine planned to ignore him, so she continued walking. But the car door swung open, and a hand grabbed her, pulling her into the car.
Josephine was alarmed. She struggled to get up and flee, but the door was closed, and the car was already moving.
Seth’s scent enshrouded her.
Josephine curled up in the corner, watching him with alert.
“What are you afraid of?” His finger touched her cheek and flicked a few strands of hair away from it, revealing her face. He continued, “Look how stupid you are. He left with another
woman, so you can do the same with another guy, right? Now, you’re even.”
Josephine avoided his breath and looked away, wanting to ignore him.
Seth’s smile was unwavering. He stared intently at her and said, “I’ve never heard you speak.”
Josephine was stunned.

Seth turned her head back toward him and smiled as he said, “Say something.”
Josephine stared at his pretentious face and couldn’t help but tremble. Every time she saw his smile, she felt trouble coming her way.
Indeed, he suddenly grabbed her hair. “Are you speaking or not? Speak, or else.”
Goosebumps crawled across Josephine’s scalp. She stared at Seth, terrified. She straightened her neck and opened her mouth. She tried her best and squeezed out a word, “N-No.”
Seth smiled, satisfied. He released his grip on her hair and caressed her cheek. “There you go.”
Josephine hugged herself and curled tightly into the fetal position.
The driver glanced at the rearview mirror now and then as he drove, looking eager for a scandal.
Approximately 40 minutes later, the car arrived outside a mansion. The driver immediately got out of it and opened the door for Seth, holding an umbrella.
Seth’s leg hadn’t recovered. It took him some effort to get out of the car.
After he got out, he looked back at Josephine and chuckled. “Are you planning to stay the night in there?”
Josephine crouched in a corner, shivering.
Seth’s brows furrowed slightly. He took the umbrella from the driver, tilted his chin upward, and said, “Check on her.” Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.
The driver nodded and trotted to the other side. Josephine was leaning against the car door, so when the driver opened the door, she fell out of the car.
Fortunately, the driver was agile enough to catch her. He touched her forehead and looked at Seth, surprised. “Sir, it seems she’s having a fever.”
Seth was indifferent. “Carry her in.”
“Yes, sir.”
The driver strode into the mansion with Josephine in his arms while Seth dragged his injured leg and limped behind them.
Having caught a cold earlier in the morning, it was hardly a surprise that Josephine developed a fever of 103.1°F after soaking in the rain.
Josephine had a restless sleep, with a stream of continuous dreams featuring a teenaged Lewis in a white shirt in most of them.
He would carry her every time they went out.
He brought her to the claw machine in her dream, and they caught many dolls, enough to fill

up an entire house.
It was supposed to be a pleasant dream, but suddenly, Seth appeared amidst the dolls, and Josephine woke with a start.
She opened her eyes and saw Seth’s enlarged face. She subconsciously clutched the sheets, temporarily unable to distinguish dream from reality.
Seth sat by the bed, propping his chin up with his hand, smiling faintly.
“What did you dream of?”
Josephine’s eyes darted. She avoided his gaze and sat up in bed.
Seth said casually, “You were unconscious for three days, and Lewis never thought about you
once.”
Josephine lowered her head and ignored him.
She would never believe Seth again. Nevertheless, she picked up her phone immediately and
checked her social media.
Lewis hadn’t unblocked her.
Seth sighed and rose to his feet. He then sat right beside her and turned on the television with
the remote control.
Josephine heard Lewis’ name the moment the television lit up.

“Mr. Alvarez, may I ask about your relationship with Ms. Woods?”
Josephine’s head jerked up, and she saw Lewis on the screen. Smiling, Lewis and Sierra stood. next to each other. Lewis wore a custom-tailored suit, while Sierra, make-up accenting her
features, wore a gown.
Reporters crowded before them and were throwing questions at them one after another.
“Rumors have it that Mr. Alvarez is married. Is Ms. Woods your wife?”
“We heard you’ve been in a relationship with Ms. Woods for years. Why have you been keeping your relationship in the dark? Why have you never shown your face in your photos with Ms. Woods?”
but Lewis
The reporters’ questions were difficult. Sierra could barely keep her smile on, remained unfazed. His smile was calm and gentle but emotionless at the same time.
After the reporters finished asking, he lowered his head slightly as his gaze swept across the room. Then, he asked, “Tell me, what has this got to do with any of you?”
The reporters were stunned to hear him.
No one saw this coming.
Chapter 179 Speak, or Else
One of the reporters said, “These are standard questions. Isn’t this the typical flow of a press conference?”
“Are you sure that sticking your nose into someone else’s private life is considered a
responsible journalistic practice during a press conference? You’re truly unworthy of the title’ reporter.’ Why don’t you consider getting a job as a paparazzi?”
Sierra’s brows knitted. She thought Lewis would publicly admit she was his girlfriend when he promised to accompany her to the press conference. She had no idea he was here to stir
trouble.
The reporters saw no way to get through to him, so they targeted Sierra.
“Ms. Woods, are you and Mr. Alvarez married? Or are you a couple?”
Sierra glanced at Lewis out of the corner of her eyes. He wasn’t working in the entertainment industry, so he didn’t require the same level of public attention. However, for her, the stakes were higher. If she answered this wrongly, the criticism from the public could devour her
whole.
