Chapter 103
After taking the bag from Baz’s hand, Cedric looked at him disdainfully. “How sure are you
that this trash can is clean?”
Baz held the trash can close to himself and insisted, “It’s squeaky clean. It might even be cleaner than my room!” Cedric asked, “Is that true?”
Baz nodded convincingly.
“Then, you should use it as a pillow
= out.”
As he was forced to agree, Baz could only look at Cedric with a distorted expression.Content rights belong to NôvelDrama.Org.
Cedric ignored Baz and went back to the bag. He opened it and saw different kinds of ointments and bandages in it.
“Wow, Ms. Maia must've been worried about you! She even took the time to choose different types of medicine for different uses! It looks like my text message worked!” Baz commented
with an air of self—satisfaction.
Cedric could not help but smile as he saw the contents. The security guard who was still in the room was surprised at how bright of a smile his boss had.
“Mr. Cedric, there’s a note in it as well!” Baz took out a small piece of paper found in between the items.
Cedric looked at the handwriting and immediately recognized it as Maia’s.
‘Cedric, stop trying to act weak or pitiful. This wouldn’t work for me! These medical supplies
my wrath!”
Cedric’s face instantly dropped as he finished reading it.
“Mr. Cedric, W-What did Ms. Maia say?” Baz noticed that something was wrong as he moved towards Cedric, trying to peek. Baz gasped as he saw what was written. “Is Ms. Maia in love with Nigel? Why is she trying to make up for his mistake?”
As the words escaped Baz’s mouth, he knew that he had made a grave mistake. He immediately moved toward the exit with his trash can.
“Mr. Cedric, it’s getting late. | shouldn’t be a bother to you. I'll bring my ‘pillow’ along and leave now. Please, have a good night.” Baz ran for his life. Cedric was left all alone in the living room.
Cedric continued to stare at the note in silence. The pain in his back and left shoulder was no match for the stabbing pain he felt in his chest.
He folded the note nicely and placed it in his wallet. After that, he walked to the window and stared at the scenery of Prismara Hill.
This was what Maia used to love doing. Tracing her footsteps made him feel like she was still here with him, by his side.
If only he had not lost his memories and forgotten her. Then, he would not have become someone that she refused to remember. Cedric smiled sadly as he realized that tonight would be a sleepless night.
The next morning, Maia was awoken by her aunt.
“Wake up, Maia! You're going to be late!”
“Aunt Tess, just 5 more minutes,” Maia mumbled sleepily as she snuggled down in bed and refused to let go of her blanket.
