Will You Marry Me, Again

Chapter 122

Chapter 122 See You Tomorrow, Honey

Maia was startled by what he did. She backed off, frightened, until her back pressed against the couch. She frowned and said, “That’s too close. Do you want me to slap you again, Cedric?”

He laughed. She was just adorable, even when she was trying to be mean.

All of a sudden, someone ran to his room. They could hear him before he went into the room, These are the gifts | bought for my dad, Maia!”

(

Aiken pushed open the door and was stunned when he saw them in this state. Luckily, he was fast to react. He set the gifts on the floor and dashed at them.

“Don't worry, Maia! I'll protect you!”

Cedric frowned, infuriated over Aiken’s entrance. Maia seized the opportunity and pushed him away. She kept a distance from him after she stood up.

Then, Aiken stood in front of her and protected her the way a mother bear would its cub. “Just come at me, Cedric. Why do you have to pick on Maia over and over again?”

Maia was a little worried about Aiken. Cedric was professionally trained, after all. Maia has seen him in action. He could easily take on ten opponents, much less Aiken alone!

Cedric sneered. He frowned and tore Aiken away from her in less than a second.

Aiken was dazed while Cedric approached Maia. He bent over and said lovingly, “I'll see you tomorrow, honey.”

He was such a jerk! Why would she want to meet him?

Maia changed her mind as Cedric left. She was going to take today’s flight back to Prismara and run away from him. “Are you okay, Maia?” Aiken asked when he regained his footing.

“I'm fine.” She limped toward her luggage and started packing up her stuff.

“What are you doing?” He could tell she was in a hurry.

“I'm going back to Prismara.”

Aiken was stunned. “Didn’t you say you'll go back tomorrow?”

He realized something the moment he said, “Are you trying to run away from Cedric, Maia?”

Then, Aiken clapped his hands. “How wonderful! You fooled him by saying you'll go back to

noticing!”

Aiken looked at Maia admiringly. “Wow. How are you this smart, Maia? You're smarter than Einstein!”

Maia was used to Aiken buttering her up. She was busy packing her stuff up and asked, ” When's the afternoon shooting?” Aiken was alarmed when he heard her, “Damn it! The shooting has started! | have to be there now!”

As he ran toward the door, he said, “Stay safe, Maia. Text me when you touch down at Prismara!”

He was gone in less than three seconds. Maia put on high heels and headed to the entrance after she was done packing her stuff.

The tight skirt highlighted her curvy body. Her slender legs looked that much more defined with the high heels. The bandage on her knee stood out like an eyesore, though. It was painful to look at.

The homestay staff were jealous that she had such slender legs.

“Ms. Maia was so beautiful. Look at her lean waist. She’s got a pair of slender legs too.”

“There are bandages on her knee. Looks like she was hurt! It did nothing to hamper her beauty, though.” “It's no wonder why Mr. Cedric couldn’t move on from his ex—wife! | would’ve loved her so much!” However, someone let out a shrill scream.

“You killed my daughter, Maia. Bring her back!”

Then, someone dashed at Maia, who dodged quickly. However, she lost her footing and

stumbled backward.

Her luggage fell to the floor with a loud thud. The staff only stared at them. Maia did not know Rita would come to Stonebrook and find her.

“You killed my daughter, Maia! You had to have done it! How heartless! You hated Zera and the Larkins. So, you took revenge on us, and you chose Zera to be your first victim!”

Rita pointed at Maia and screamed, “Zera could never rest in peace because of you, you murderous bitch!”

Maia had gotten used to this by now.

The participants around her were shocked. They had never thought they’d live to see this moment. Maia had no intention to put a stop to it. She let Rita run her foul mouth off.

“What do you want exactly, Maia? What’s the reason you came back to us? Are you going to keep at it until you’ve taken everything from our family?NôvelD(ram)a.ôrg owns this content.

“First, you spiked Cedric. You must’ve used some witchcraft to make him trust you

completely. Then, you put both Zera and myself in harm’s way. Now, you've killed her! I’ve truly underestimated you, Maia Burgess!”

Maia shook her head helplessly. She crossed her arms, looked at Rita, and said, “Do you know how long you'll be imprisoned for defamation?”

Rita was rooted to the spot and pointed at Maia again. “Did | defame you? | just think you're guilty, Maia! I've seen Zera one last time. She died a horrible death. You're so heartless!”

“Is that all?” Maia stepped forward and seized Rita’s outstretched finger. “I’m warning you, Rita. It’s all about proof. You'd be wise to refrain from speaking rashly. You’ve seen many winters now. Don’t you know such simple rules?”

Rita was pissed off.

Adeep, intimidating sound came from behind her. “What’s happening?”

Maia turned and looked. Cedric and Baz were there, the latter carrying a suitcase.

She was stunned. Where did he get the news about this? How did he know that she was leaving now? Meanwhile, Baz picked up her suitcase and stood behind Cedric.
